    Raised a Baptist, I was given a pamphlet on how to say the Rosary as a teen ager by a Catholic friend. I began praying the Rosary with its beautiful Mysteries taken straight from the Gospels. I then discovered the Catholic belief about the Holy Eucharist...Christ's Real Presence on Earth and found myself kneeling in His Holy Presence as often as I could. I did not realize how the Bessed Virgin Mary always leads one to a closer relationship with Her Son. I have been a Roman Catholic priest now for 35 years. My friend probably never knew how a small gift of a pamphlet on how to pray the Rosary would change my life and in turn touch the lives of so many others. May God bless this former pastor and his family! Ave Maria!

    • @bobloblawb2593
      @bobloblawb2593 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mary is referred to as the "Most Holy Mother" and having an "Immaculate Heart." By this Catholics do not mean that she was given the righteousness and holiness given to saints through the imputed righteousness of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17-21) but that she was saved from sin in every form through having been conceived in her mother’s womb without the stain of original sin. Never does the Bible refer to Mary as being sinless. Never does it refer to her having an immaculate heart. Rather, Mary refers to God as her Savior (Luke 1:47). This places her with the rest of humanity, as a sinner needing a Savior, but the Catholic Church holds that Mary was saved from sin through the merits of Christ by being conceived without sin and then living a sinless life. Again, never is this taught in Scripture. Rather, what Scripture teaches is that there is only one exception to the truth that we are all sinners (Romans 3:10, 3:23, etc.). That single exception is Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 John 3:5).
      Heb 12:2 points out who we are to focus on . Why does the roman Catholic church focus it's eye on Mary?

      @@christm.a She told us to meditate on Jesus life ministry, passion and resurrection.
      Really where do you find Mary telling you this ?
      have you ever looked at those verses where Jesus is told His mother and brothers are outside wishing to speak with Him and what does Jesus say and do? Matthew 12:46-50
      Luke 11:27-28 Does this look like Jesus is honoring or elevating His mother like the roman Catholic church does?
      In the entire new testament you do not find Mary telling you to honor her . In the entire new testament you do not find Mary being more than the most blessed woman in history and the mother of Jesus her firstborn and the mother of her other children by her husband Joseph . That's all we have in the new testament about Mary the mother of Jesus our savior and anything you are taught about Mary that is not found in scripture is made up by the roman Catholic church that for some reason is pointing you toward Mary and not Jesus .

    • @hkskh70040
      @hkskh70040 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bobloblawb2593 Mary's sinlessness can be argued based on the fact that she, like the ark of the covenant, carried God in her womb.
      She carried God. The same God whose back caused Moses to veil, whose sight Gideon and Isaiah to cry in terror, and whose hand caused the unworthy bearers of the Ark to die. If Christ and the Father were One, that does that imply for the bearer of Christ, or bearer of God? How can she bear God, but seemingly not suffer from the same fear?
      Focus on Mary is always supposed to lead back to Christ. As a Protestant, Catholic devotions do blur the lines, but the theology is still there. Mary is like the Ark of the Covenant -- we look to her, yes, but like how the Israelites viewed the Ark of the Covenant: not an object of worship, but something through which God can be seen more clearly.

      Mary had free will. When the angel announces her mission Mary had the freedom to refuse. Had she refused where would we be without our savior? Mary's "yes" to the angel reverses the "no" spoken by Eve which led to all of this mess. m We thank God incessantly for Mary's "yes".

      Yes, Mary was chosen from all women throughout history, a young humble woman from apparently the back end of beyond who God asked to be the mother of Christ. She could have no understanding of what this would mean but she trusted God and she trusted the Angel Gabriel, his messenger. She was given the responsibility, as all mothers are, of brining a unique person into the world and cherishing them and encouraging them to be a fully developed person. Our mothers and fathers are so essential to us and the people God chose for this task (Mary and Joseph) had a steadfast faith in God, where they took one day at a time while God helped them through the unbelievably enormous task of learning how to be parents of Our Savior. How could we not honor a person who had the courage to put their whole faith in God this way? The Holy Family is so profound.

We do not worship Mary, we as her to intercede for us with her Divine Son. Which loving son can resist his dear mother's request. Jesus LOVES his mother, so much, and wants us to love her to. At the foot of the cross he said, "Son, behold they mother", and to Mary he said "Woman, behold they son." Thus uniting us for eternity to Mary as our mother also. What a WONDERFUL, compelling video! Cried the entire time because this is exactly how I've been trying to describe the Blessed Mother to a friend of mine. This testimony touched my heart so deeply. This guy put into such passion how to honor Jesus.
    My friend who is an evangelical that has been coming to church with me every Sunday since January 1st (see missed two, sick for one and in England for another but still attended a Catholic mass in her own!) shared a dream she had with me that as we entered my church the only place we could sit was to the left. Then in her dream we knelt down to pray, and after we concluded got up and went out to the left again but behind towards the altar.
    The following Sunday I had her sit towards the left and told her to look who we are in front of. Mary.
    No coincidence she dreamt that. Mary will lead you to Jesus. ❤

      @@c.Ichthys thanks Claire. But I do not see this. If Mary or saints could pray for us like our believing friends do - or be instrumental in some noble thing I still would not respond by making statues of them, carry them about and kneel before them. I also would not give them names that belong to deity.
      But the real issue is the gospel for salvation. I believe when I placed my faith in the cross of Christ I am immediately justified , declared righteous and imputed with God's own righteousness and have the free gift of salvation.
      So when I die my entrance into heaven is by the blood of Jesus, not my own righteousness but by God righteousness which was given as a free gift.
      Thus I would not need Purgatory to achieve the holiness necessary to open the gates of heaven.
      I was justified because of faith in divine mercy , which forgave my sins for Christ's sake and it is this faith alone that has justified me.
      So any good works I might do by the grace of God would not merit an increase of grace and eternal life because I was already given eternal life apart from works as a free gift.
      I am promised that if I believed I would pass from death to life and not come into judgement.

    My Protestant mother and Irish Catholic father eloped at 17. At 24 they had their marriage blessed in the Catholic Church. My mother turned Catholic...I was the second child of five children...I had and older brother, and when she was pregnant with me, she prayed to the Blessed Mother if she had a girl she'd name her, Mary. That was me. My mother and father died 21 days apart at age 48/49. They both died on Saturday nights between 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM. My father being six months younger than my mother died on August 22, and my mother died on Sept 12th 1970. I am now 76...Just turned it on November 28th...And one of my dear brother's died on October 21, 21...It has been very hard for me as I loved him so much, and called him my Irish Twin....I love your story....and I'm still listening to you!

They pray the Holy Rosary devotedly too... I love that God is bringing us these energetic Catholic converts into our fold so we will get to know more about the fullness of our faith. @@darkma1ice Mary never talked about herself when she appeared throughout all her apparitions dear. She always points us towards her son Jesus. Mary never asked us Catholics to worship her. It is common sense and no brainer for us not only Catholics but all of humanity to give the highest respect to the mother of our dear Saviour. Mary never told people to replace Jesus. She always reminds us to pray and love her son Jesus Christ.
      If you love your father, you should love also the one whom he loved and chose to bring you out of this world - your dear mother.
      We ask Mary for intercession because she is the closest to ask for help to go to Jesus and ask our favours.
      Think of it like this way dear: You can't just make appointment directly to the CEO of the company if you're an ordinary person. You have to pass through security guards, the staffs and the secretary or the right hand of the boss before securing your anticipated appointment. Sometimes, many of us would tremble in front of our bosses but since you followed respectfully the protocol before facing the CEO, he will be kind enough to face you or give you some consideration.
      Now you may say: but Jesus is not like that. He will hear us directly. Of course, Jesus will but have some decency in yourself and look at yourself honestly and see if you can present yourself like that directly in front of Jesus the King. Even Saints, the greatest of the Saints don't have the strength and confidence to face and ask Jesus directly. Why? Because these Saints don't consider themselves to be holy enough to face Jesus or pray to Jesus directly. They need a bridge, an intercessor to hide their sinfulness and Mary is gracious enough for her love of humanity's salvation to be that bridge, that intercessor who can be our shield to hide our sinful souls as we pray to Jesus through Mary. 😇😇😇😇

      But one would honestly say you exalt Mary more that you do Christ. Just read the comments. A unbeliever might think Mary was a God for she is said to hear all those prayers (omnipresent) has power to protect (omnipotent) these attributes belong to God.

      As I mentioned Mary can't hear prayer or answer prayer. This belongs to God.
      As to saying one does not worship but only has devotion to Mary is word games.
      idols are made of a woman who they say is Mary and these are carried around on their heads, they say prayers to this person, they attribute healing directly to her, they build statues as tall as buildings and give her titles that a reserved for Deity alone , one of the names is Queen of heaven but heaven has no Queen, the only Queen of heaven in scripture is a demon goddess.
      They kiss the hand of the statue, kneel before it but explain it away as devotion yet scripture forbids the making of images and kneeling before them.
      When one adds sees a person crawling on their knees with a statue of a person they think is Mary and call it only devotion they are decieved.
      Mary is said to be born without sin but there is no scripture. They say she ascended into heaven bodily but have no scripture. They call her the dispenser of grace but have no scripture.
      No, they will tell me Christ is the head and Mary the neck. But can't give scripture just clever analogies.
      They say if you die wearing the scapular Mary will come release you on the first Saturday from a place called purgatory and this is believed - with no scripture for both claims.
      Yet scripture says;
      " It is appointed for a man to die once and then judgement"
      Not purgatory.
      Rome says they hold merits of Mary to be dispensed to the faithful but have no scripture.
      If you read the devotion of the legions of Mary one will see this is not devotion but idolatry.
      I agree the rebuttal should never be directed at a person (Mary) or a Catholic but only at the practices that are clearly contrary to the plain teaching of scripture.
      Scripture says;
      least you act corruptly and make yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure the likeness of male or female.
      Let's not explain scripture away with an analogy or assumptions but rather obey it.
      Mary was a sinner made sin offering had more children from her husband lived a holy life and died.
      Our focus is now on Jesus and His gospel that offers the free gift of eternal life. We can know we have eternal life now and can enter into eternity not with our own righteousness perfected in a place after death but with the righteousness of Christ Jesus which is received by faith.

Mary is parts of Gods planned in the beginning of the genesis all through the end of book of revelations , lay the whole bible and think the big picture, Catholics understand the bible differently than Protestant, because the bible originally comes from the Catholic Church the early Christians who gather all the writings of the apostles read it to the church and explained it to the members before it even printed out like the book we have it now. Read the early father’s of the church , the one who knew Jesus passed it on to the next generation to generations and Catholic teaching are more closers to their teaching than Protestant, i will trust the early apostles teaching more than anybody because they knew and been taught by Jesus himself and passed on to their successors

      @Zion Crusader if your prayers go to jesus directly, why does revelation 5:8 and 8:3 say otherwise?

      @Zion Crusader does revelation 5:8 tell us our prayers are brought to jesus by the elders?
      Plus the bible isnt the sole authority.

      You can always do more, like Padre Pio and his commitment to at least 15 a day.

    Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.

      Amen,Amen! Mary,the Mother of Jesus is ours too. That's what we Catholics call her. In our prayers,we ask Mother Mary to intercede for us. We love and honour her because she is Christ's mother. Thanks Shane for your inspiring passion for Mother Mary. God bless you🙏

    Thank you very much for this precious testimony, it is perhaps one of the most beautiful I have heard so far; definitely the immaculate heart of Mary is the fastest way to reach the heart of Jesus,... And the beloved disciple took her home, we too receive Mary in our home and in our hearts in the same way as her cousin St Elizabeth received to her, to fill us with joy with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, so that with the joy of her maternal presence she lovingly reigns in the lives of each beloved disciple of Christ to proclaim her throughout all generations as the great for all times “Blessed" God’s Mother that crushes demon head

    I'm so heart struck ❤️ with this story !!! I also dared to pray rosary one day and now I cannot stop ! God's love has consumed me in a deeper and real way through Mary Jesus' Mother and now also my Mother as a Catholic ! Who can say no to JESUS in Holy Communion ? And who dare say no to JESUS as HE at the cross gives Her to John, and John to Her, and to us all to be our Blessed Mother also ??? ❤️🙏❤️🙏
