Part of the problem is that games are getting too big (and expensive to make) for their own good, and it’s a monumental task trying to make it all come together. When it does come together, it’s amazing. When it doesn’t, you end up with Cyberpunk 2077 or your average Fallout.
Tbh, it's mostly RPGs and open-world games, aside from the obvious games as a service cash-grab. And let's be honest, huge RPGs / open-world games have been released in an unfinished state since forever; that obviously doesn't make it ok, but it's hardly a new situation - I mean, most "old" western RPGs are still unfinished to this day lol. That always makes me appreciate the quality of R* releases.
It's been happening for years now. For some reason this is the game that broke the camel's back. Although that's still to be seen if the back stays broken.
Its been the norm for over 10 yrs now. I very rarely pre order anymore because i expect it. That said, i got this a day early, but ive been having fun with it on pc
Buying a game ain’t worshipping a company. No one expected they would release it unfinished especially after all the delays. Also, Jim sterling is just a broken clock.
They turned into every other company more like it. Might as well be EA and throw in some microtransactions in the multiplayer update just to fix all this bullshit... BUSINESS AS USUAL lol
Joe is 100% right about the apologists. My best mate was one. He was all "It works fine for me on PC, I don't see what the issue is". The next day he was mad because the game kept crashing everytime he entered a specific zone.
I have had 0 issues on PC the big issue ive come across is like the game aint that good looking for how clunky it runs there is no other game on the market i can't get a stable 60 fps, graphics maxed, that im aware of im lucky to run around at like 53 on normal with this game And the game just doesnt look that cool on normal

Same, it was obvious for me that it wouldn't be as good as the hype and I was pretty sure it would come buggy. But never like this... this is something else
They should have released it in stages. Grown the city outwards over time. Focus on the center and work out. It wouldn't have been perfect but far better than the mess they released.
CP 2077 still is a very good game showing the hard work that went into this product. I had several crashes too, but still cant understand all the hate it is getting. Most of the epicrefunderz are going to buy the game again in a few month, pretend how they always knew how great CP is going to be. 😂
CDPR basically destroyed their own reputation. They were like a other rockstar games, releases a game once in a while but the game is absolutely amazing. Now that’s gone.

I can't defend it anymore, not just the broken stuff but the missing stuff. The 'next gen in open world games' is a lifeless city full of dumb NPC's and dumb enemies stood around map icons waiting to be shot.
We shouldn't need to defend it, the Witcher stood on its own and mayhaps the best game ever created. CP2077 should have had at least 30% of the effort shown, especially considering the time it was in development and how much bigger their team and budget was than during the making of the witcher series

When CDPR announced the final delay, they absolutely knew that another 3-weeks wasn't going to be enough. Hell, 3 MONTHS probably won't be enough. They just decided to cross their fingers and hope that people wouldn't notice. Well, people noticed.
Fallout 76 taught me that. I bought it on launch and couldn't get a refund. So reluctantly I kept it and waited a year or so later until wastelanders came out. Between the addition of npcs and over a year's worth of patches have produced a decent game that I enjoy. It's not great, but good. But I learnt my lesson and never buy on release day unless it's one of them core game series on the latest Nintendo handheld version. Everything else I wait for footage or reviews from TH-camrs I trust like AngryJoe, Yongyeah, and Jim Sterling. They saved me from Anthem, my brother from Avengers (he took my advice) and now it's saved me from Cyberpunk 2077 as I'm a Base PS4 player.
The industry has been trying to make "shit games at launch, that you buy, then we improve" the norm for years. No matter what they say, they thought we were sufficiently conditioned to accept this. The only mistake here, was assuming our standards were gone. Fuck that, I'm glad people have bitten back. You can make all the half finished games you like, but when you trick us in to buying it instead of telling us what it is.... We're done.
Yes Our World, that's exactly what CDPR expected. To be fair that's what all major game developers expect. They know that although gamers really don't like it but will tolerate it. Of course in some cases it's worked like Fallout 76, No Man's Sky, FF14-arr. And some seems to have just fizzled away with no overhaul like Anthem. But I guess CDPR discovered our limit. The point where gamers don't accept a thin, content poor buggy game that might be patched into a good condition after a year. It should have been obvious that limit would be at actually having a playable game on the biggest percentage of audience. Very few people have PS5 or Xbox Series Whatever. Of course concealing the truth from console players was stupid too.

This isn't even an RPG. The RPG elements are as deep as in a Far Cry game. The company lied this whole time about the game's genre and since release even they don't call it an RPG anymore.
Umm idk about that. Far Cry doesn't really have character builds. Cyberpunk does let you have a nice variety of options in terms of your characters skills.
That's the biggest issue for me, they lied about making an actual RPG like in the old days. They'll be able to fix the bugs and whatnot, but to deliver on all their promises and actually make the game into an RPG they'd have to make a completely new game.
And if Microsoft does it right with Infinite, they should be applauded for pushing it back to avoid exactly this type of scenario and ensure a quality product (and then shit won't be due).

It’s sadly becoming the norm now that we are getting unfinished, buggy games.
That always makes me appreciate the quality of R* releases.
bizmonkey007 average Fallout is f*vking amazing! It’s only really 4 and 76 that have been meh, and even 4 was kinda good.
It's been happening for years now. For some reason this is the game that broke the camel's back. Although that's still to be seen if the back stays broken.

Damn, all this stuff about CDPR is depressing. How did they fuck up this bad?
People always look at things one sidedly, and never stay neutral about things, nor expect both different outcomes, a company that simply made one good game from before, does not justify that they can deliver consistent results later.
That's why I kept my expectations really low. Still got disappointed anyway.
Its majorly the fault of management and publishers. The devs were given impossible deadlines and despite knowing full well that the game wasn't in a very good state the management decided to go with it. Despite the developers suggesting otherwise
Every studio will fuck up sooner or later. And CDPR just screw it up much sooner than anticipated, thats all.
They thought that they could make a quick buck and people are stupid enough to buy into the lies ends up costing them three times more than they make on the freaking game.
And nobody was stupid enough to see that this shit is definitely not anywhere close to Witcher 3 quality Bethesda games release in better States than this.
They clearly lied and release the PC version of the game to critics just so they can make bigger bonuses and get better sales day one before Christmas and for the next generation of consoles but there's not even a PS5 version of the game out so what's the fucking point?
They ruined their reputation and "REPUTATION IS EVERYTHING"
Those are the words they wrote and should live by...
Now they will probably lose EVERYTHING
the nightmare never ends for CDPR lmao
Meanwhile my fallout 4 settlements have extreme amount of stuff I hoarded and the save loads up just fine

Pretty sure Witcher also had problems at launch, they are going to fix it and be fine. The game itself is brilliant and has me well-invested for > 100 hours so far.
@@IavraPlays there’s problems and then there is straight up not playable....
@@monstermunch4956 That's true and i'm sorry for everyone who is unable to do so right now. But still, i'm sure this will be resolved in time. That said, CDPR is known to take their time, so i fear it will take at least until february until everyone can play, excluding PS4, which doesn't seem to work at all.
As a wise man once said: corporations aren't your friend, especially the ones who say they are. I hope it has gotten into people's heads now that CDPR isn't some kind of messiah... their smug "we leave greed to others" marketing never sat right with me - actions speak louder than words, good people (and companies) don't have to brag about how they're better than others...
Well i mean they really made it hard to argue youre wrong lol. You right
Rockstar is silent. They don't say shit. Once their game is done, a trailer released and soon, release date revealed. And their games turned out to be good.
@@rpgamezzz270 rockstar is pretty greedy when it comes to their online games, but all single player is great, pay once and you have the whole package finished at release

@@davecrupel2817 Like...there are still companies out there putting out good games. But it is probably wise in general not to trust *any* company too much. And in case of videogames...I already made it a habit some years ago to watch some streams before I buy.
You still can get disappointed when you hope a game will be great and it turns out to be a mess, but at least your wallet won't bleed.
I buy later, get it more polished and cheaper...and if I REALLY like it and I feel I actually want to support a company I just get a second copy... That way, those studios that I feel deserve it can still make good money of me, I can maybe make a friend smile a bit with the additional copy and I am safe too. Win-win-win

I commented a while back about the variations in sound volume. It would be very low sometimes and other time very high like when Joe scream. I also said that on my phone I had to constantly adjust volume through out the video.
This time I was watching on my laptop and when you changed your sound board it made things better. So I switched to my phone to listen it again(Joe's immediate scream was helpful). And I am happy to say, you did it Joe. At least for me.
You may not read this longass comment. And I may not be able to support you financially but I am with you in spirit.

Hahah dude I agree with you so much. I usually rip the audio from the video because I like to listen to these video's during a walk and a podcast isnt available. Always when Alex is talking it feels all zen and I up the volume a bit, then I hear a comment about "a certain number of low play hours" and I frantically start smashing the volume down button because I'm about to have my eardrums ripped by Joe's FOUR HOURS.
You should NEVER skip parts Joe! You gotta watch from the beginning!
I almost stopped watching the video when he said that.
This isn't even an RPG. The RPG elements are as deep as in a Far Cry game. The company lied this whole time about the game's genre and since release even they don't call it an RPG anymore.
Completely agree.
That's very disappointing... :(
Yeah they even changed the game description from RPG to Action Adventure, and yet some fanboys still call this the best RPG ever. What a joke.
