Hello Painters 🎨 Take a look over my shoulder as I work on two large paintings. See some of the many options you have available - what household items you can use and what texture effects you can create that will take your artwork to the next level.🎨 Have a lovely and creative week 🎨
I'm a Classic/Abstract painter!!! I envy the results of your works, but, I don't like to "stain" everything I handle with!!!And, I take care of my materials that much; let alone messing up with them! But, like I said: " I like your artworks"!!! tfs
Thankyou so much! Beautiful free ideas..so inspiring...and its so nice just to have your voice with no music in the background...many thanks and warm wishes from Stacey in Wales,uk 🌈
You are a generous and lovely woman and I thank you so much for your efforts to inspire (which you do) all of us who need to loosen up. Love the graphite pencil on the long handled brush and application of paint using a trowel. Your work is just beautiful Marie Louise. Warmest wishes Alain Louise Howard
Hello Marie-Louise, I am loving the vibrancy of this one, the light and dark, the splashes of paint and sheer joy that you seem to derive from painting! Funnily enough, I have just found out that I am part Dutch after doing my dna chart and family tree recently. I have subscribed and am loving this art journey. From one arty ML to the other ;.). Happy Painting! xxx
Thanks for sharing some great tools, that too everyday household items. Liked the idea of space between self and canvas; I think that would be useful to get a good real perspective. I will try these while working on my art works!
Thank you so much for these great ideas. Wonderful to see you actually using the techniques on real paintings. I noticed you use Amsterdam and W&H Galeria acrylics. Do you prefer one over the other for layering? Looking forward to part 2. Duncan
Hello is there a final preservation coating that you use? To preserve the painting for years to come? Like a varnish. I’m not sure how to preserve a textured painting
@@TheDanishPainter I really appreciate your channel and find that it translates to many other mediums. I am primarily a watercolor painter but find your videos very helpful and interesting to watch! Thank you for sharing your experience!🖌️☀️🌙⭐️🌎
Very interested to see how you tackle large pieces of work, thank you. Question:- Marie Louise I sometimes I struggle to keep my colours vibrant the more I layer have you any advice on this matter ?
Yes it can be tricky to keep the colors vibrant. Try to make sure that the layers are completely dry before adding more more layers. Also try looking at your paint to see if they are transparent or opaque (or somewhere in between) sometimes that plays a role as well.
Your vids really enthused me and expanded my art skills. However I tend to do a lot of landscapes with trees in the foreground. How should I adapt your techniques for pictures like this . Specifically how would you paint foreground trees. I've really hit an impasse with this😢
I only subscribed because you said you were danish ! I’m danish as well but live in Canada and I really want to learn to paint abstract and I have a couple of huge canvassed ! Hope you can help ;) mange tak!
Thank you, at last, sharing your tips on large canvas and watercolor paper! Your open basement studio space suggests that your personal painting preference is painting large, as I do. I encourage you to either create another channel focused on demonstrating how you paint large works OR to do more of these videos. To be honest, at some point even the most hesistant novice painter aspires to paint bigger pieces. If not now, then when? Please shift your channel's content to teaching your tips and techniques on larger paper or canvas. MHO, MLE, you've put up a lot of related videos that reinforce your process through repetition. Now, how about moving up and teaching your subs how to scale up your techniques, and handle the various challenges painting large presents? Perhaps start first by painting on 16x20, 18x24, 20x20 and so on up to 36x36 inches. The cost of small packets of watercolor paper is inexpensive. Unbelievably, I began painting on 22x28 acid-free poster board paper, and now I paint only large canvases and watercolor paper (36x36 and up). Again, I welcome these two-part videos because they are a departure from your sketchbook demos and showing us, perhaps for the first time, your painting practice. Thank you for this welcomed change in content! James
Thank you for your suggestions James. I want to share as much as possible for everyone - from beginners all the way to advanced level painters. My biggest problem is TIME! As in I need more of it... Lots more in fact... so that I could show and do all the things I want to share. And I would love to be able to have 2 channels but since I am the only one doing all the planning, painting, filming, editing, technical stuff and uploading I just can't see how I'll find the extra time to start another channel besides this one. Thanks again for your suggestions and for watching 🎨🎨
How many videos should you watch here that only play with effects - without any content? A work of art is created through the balance between content and form, not through effects alone. All that dabbing, spatulaing and pouring is of no use if it serves no purpose. Then only arts and crafts are created.
Correct, abstract painting doesn’t require skill. That would be brick laying that requires skill. Abstract requires something much deeper and not fully understood 😂
@@davemenard5089 a lot of mediocre artists have your exact point of view😂. There are tons of abstract artist and they have crazy mad skills. Thats why skill training is the first thing ever taught😂
@@davemenard5089 ofcourse it was a joke. Meant for artsy-fartsies that undermines basic skills and tecnique focusing on deep meaning of self interpretation 😂

Thanks. That's reminded me I've got an old trowel that's 'textured' with mortar after not being cleaned properly... maybe it can have a second life
Yes it'll probably create some interesting texture

How can we stick pieces of metal or cable on canvas painting. Please advise

congratulatios!!! wonderful. a question please: acrylic or oil paint in this work?? tanks
It is acrylics but you could use oil and oil pastels with a lot of these techniques too 🎨🎨
How about pencil taped to a back scratching tool, that way........🙂
Yes that would be fun to try out 😃👍

The loose canvas gives me anxiety, lol.
You can't roll it up now. What about attaching it, knock off some of the texture??? Lol
This painting looks easy with your ideas, yet it it looks like something I’d see, and pay, for $1100
