Oh my god, I would be so scared to work so freely as you do, your art is really inspiring me to try and experiment more! I felt anxiety the second you went in and added those crayola ochre lines but the end result is gorgeous!
You hit the nail on the head - it making art IS scary sometimes! I try to be brave and bold and it's hard - but it is also the best feeling in the world when it works out. Thanks so much for your comment and for watching! :-)
It's amazing to see different mediums you use in the most effective way. Watercolor + acrylic + crayons. I am impressed. Best way to create a abstract painting.
There are thousands of painting videos, and almost all can teach us something. Only a few videos cover crucial things that I want to keep in mind whenever I paint. Your videos are in this group. Well done! Thanks!
OMG! You seem to paint so effortlessly..like your paintings simply flow from your soul. The colors you use are so calming. The touches of blue are like little kisses that bring your paintings to life! Absolutely inspiring!
Wonderful wonderful wonderful. So lovely to see you paint outside the rules with no rigidity. I can learn so much from everybody, but especially from you!
I loved watching you create these paintings. I didn’t realize how many different colors you can put in a sky. When you pulled off the tape I was shocked at the result. They are both beautiful.
Thank you so much for this video and for your generosity in spending time to instruct, inform, and encourage us creatively. The paintings are beautiful. A sign of the arrival of autumn here in the North East of England is the flocks of geese arriving from the North in their V formation calling to each other. Once again thank you. Colin. England.
they are both very beautiful, but i tend to favor the bottom one more... really like the shapes in the land and the color combinations and contrasts down there.. and the sky has some really beautiful moments from left to right I love the light shade moving upwards toward the muted grays.. thank you for sharing!
I am an artist, and have been trying to loosen up for years. I am not a fan of acrylic or abstraction, but your work is truely beautiful, I am inspired to give it a go.
Lovely painting and technique. As people interested in art, we all love to buy materials, some of which we never use. This is a great way to incorporate those paint kits we forgot. Thanks for the inspiration.
Love every piece of your work and the way you go by is just so natural for you and you make it feel so easy and yet it is a lot of decisions taking place in a short time, God Bless you for sharing your wonderful creativity
Might you remember what palette you used? I see the black, white, burnt sienna, but did you use an ochre, yellow. I was also curious about what blue you used? Pthalo perhaps? Thanks so much! Your videos are inspiring!!!
I'm a realist painter who has recently been trying out some abstract landscape painting, and seeing your process and work is so inspiring! I love the idea of working in sets of two to experiment. Thank you so much for sharing this ❤️
Hello Marie Louise. I am slowly working through all your videos and also follow you on Instagram. You are the first artist that has inspired me to try acrylic. I paint abstract landscapes In Watercolours and soft pastels. However after watching your use of the crayons, I have started doing more mixed media to my watercolours. I don’t know yet if I will try acrylics, but you are helping me with branching into a looser style with watercolours. Thank you so much. I absolutely love love love your style. Greetings from Australia
What a wonderful and sweet comment, thank you Jen! So cool that you are branching out and using mixed media. Thanks for taking the time to watch and to comment and see you here and on Instagram :)
Definitely give et a go. Doing many smaller landscapes at the same time really helps me stay loose and more abstract. Otherwise I tend to easily get lost in too much detail.
I'm so excited to find this.Exactly what I've been looking for. Loose beautiful expressive landscapes with muted colour. Thank you for sharing your talent.
This is so beautiful, I'm in love. Your pieces are so peaceful and it's admirable how with some abstract brush strokes you can get to make such masterpieces. Congratulations!!
Wow this brought joy to my heart! Last night I painted my first local landscape from a photograph and I'm excited to incorporate your tips and processes into my next painting.
Just gorgeous! I totally agree about the the tape.....I paint lots n lots of watercolor cards (thank you, anniversary etc) and I typically have them taped down with blue tape unless I'm doing a more detailed flower where I know I won't be all over :) but sometimes I'm keep fussing with it and can't figure out why its not working amd I finally remove the tape and walk away for a bit and they look completely different without the bright blue next to them! I also like the idea of more then one painting...like you gave in your 'painting looser " video and I jist got my big sketchbook from Amazon and once I get a few things cleaned up (that guilt we've spoken about, bit I'll feel better taking time for myself once I get a few more things done :) ) but then I'm very excited to try it out :) I have lots of my own photography of sky and landscape and took more today with the trees trying to bloom and a storm. I also did the turning them black n white to see the contrast...so, I'm excited to try. Hopefully soon :) thanks for being such a great teacher and for sharing it here....I know you don't have to, and I appreciate so much that you do!!❤🌸🌻
@@TheDanishPainter me too....I have to make myself not look when there are good art supplies on sale!! There are just so many beautiful and neat things to try that its probably good we have no money or I'd definitely have to get a large shed to store things. Even now, with just gifts from family and friends and buying a few things here and there I've taken over what was the dining room...but my dream is to one day have a large spot where I can really spread out and I would LOVE to throw and splash paint onto my canvas...but, definitely not until I have more space of course😊 but I'm still VERY thankful for the awesome I have :) but yes, supplies are too much fun!!!!😁😀

Πολύ, πολύ όμορφο σεμινάριο. Έχω τραβήξει μια φωτογραφία ενός τοπίου στο άλσος της γειτονιάς μου που περπατώ και δεν ξέρω πώς να αρχίσω να το ζωγραφίζω τόσο αφηρημένα όσο εσείς. Πώς ξεκινάμε να ζωγραφίζουμε από μια συγκεκριμένη φωτογραφία;
Stumbled upon your site. Your English is better than many Americans. And your ability to explain your decisions as you paint is priceless. I’m currently working with mono prints but found much to glean from your process. Feels like I found an old friend…your muted palette, landscapes, and style very much resonate. Thank you for sharing your dedication to this work. I’ll be digging in. Do you sell/ ship your pieces? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Such beautiful work! I've always been afraid to paint landscapes, maybe because they're so powerful. I will try some now.
