Hi friends! Sorry this video is a bit echoey in the intro and outro - I promise this is the last echoey video haha! I'm finally all set up and unpacked so it'll sound normal from now on :)
Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but I've had surgery 3 times for Endometriosis and they ask for no polish so they can check your oxygen. The pulse ox monitors aren't great reading on polish and I guess they wanted fingers and toes just in case!
The reason they need to have both toe and nails unvarnished is they can tell if there is something wrong with you while they operate. The nails will turn blue/ purple from lack of oxygen for example. I change my pedí once every 10 days( I find it hard on my back but I stick to it as my bf loves well cared for feet) and because of work my daring colors go to my toes. I change my manis about 3 times a week.
The holo polishes are gorgeous!! The reason patients don't wear nail polish while having surgery is to ensure your surgeon and/or anesthesiologist can see that your oxygen levels are OK. When oxygen depletes, your nails turn blue; nail polish would hide that. The polish also interferes with the readings provided by the oxygen probe placed on your finger during surgery.
My nails are already yellow-ish because of constant nail polish wearing 🙁 Still important to have them bare when in the hospital though, they put this device on my finger last time to check my oxygen levels. I felt a bit self conscious about it because one nurse kept commenting how discolored & pale my nails looked...
the probe works by using infrared light to obtain readings and the pigments in nail polish can block the light, depending on the formula. same reason it's hard to get good opacity on gel polish colors. too much pigment affects the its ability to cure under the light.
I love Mooncat! They've been one of my favorite brands since the Live Love Polish days (I have a lot of their magnetic formulas), and the rebranded aesthetic is amazing. The bottle caps are everything and I love the logo
I might be a bit late but you could always add some nail polish thinner/restore to it! Depending on the weather on your location, the polish might have started to go dry and thus the thickness@@Claire21438
I grew up in Texas and kept my toenails painted. My mom always painted her toenails but not her fingernails because she is an avid gardener and could never keep her fingernails nice. Now I live in Colorado and like to keep my toenails painted during the summer, but when fall hits and all my sandals are retired for the year there isn’t really any point. On a side note, I absolutely love this look on you- the red lips and eyes are adorable!
I'm so glad to see one other person in the comments who hasn't already tried and loved them! Lol I was waiting to try it specifically until Kelli did....
OMG Kelli...I've been waiting for this video for so long! 😭😂 I had been wanting to recommend you swatch and review these for quite some time but I didn't want to ask in case it was one of the brands that you didn't "mess" with or that was on your blacklist. As a child my father was very strict and wouldn't allow me to wear nail polish, then when he finally did it had to be peel-off and only in pink or lavender (I'm half Indian and he was more traditional when I was young). After a while I stopped painting my nails because there was no joy to it, then I got back into it in middle school, then I dropped it again. I just recently got back into it because of your channel and now I own over 500+ bottles😅 so I thank you for inspiring me to get back into painting my nails, you're amazing! My obsession with Mooncat came fast and hard, I own almost every collection😅 they're just too pretty to choose one. For your fun fact, I actually used to paint my toes all the time since I wasn't allowed to paint my nails. It wasn't until I got older that I stopped, and the funny thing was I never wore sandals, still don't. I think the last time I painted my toes was like 2017 maybe. Please review more Mooncat in the future though, I'd love to see you do collections so I can get an idea if I'll actually like all the colors or if I should pass...I've been buying all of mine blind so there's definitely some I like more than others. Sealed with a Hiss is one of my favorites though.
It's sad your father was so strict with you, but on this particular subject I think a lot of people would agree with him. Nail polish is full of chemicals that aren't by nature supposed to be near you and can be toxic, especially back in the days (now polishes are a lot more clean since "clean" became important for us customers). But basically it's not a good idea to let a child paint their nails often, since their bodies are smaller and in a growth process that needs to go smoothly (some chemicals can mess up the hormones and all). Now we got some water-based, child-friendly polish, but again back in the days...
i have never clicked a video so fast. mooncat is one of my favourite polish brands and i was hoping one day you would review them. i'm so happy you enjoy them as much as i do.
I'm sure my comment will get lost in the huge number of comments you've received on this video, but what I wanted to say is that I appreciate seeing this brand's polishes swatched on shorter nails like mine are. The marketing videos and photos I've seen have generally been on long nails, which makes everything look so glamorous, but also kind of hard to determine how the polish would perform on shorter nails. I know some people won't like the thin formulas that may require 3 coats, but I actually prefer that because I almost always do 3 very thin coats, anyway. Maybe the formula is similar to ILNP's formula, where it's somewhat sheer but perfectly buildable. I'm so glad you tried this brand! Thanks for the review!!
love seeing you try out mooncat! the only issue i have w them is that some of their swatches arent super representative of what the polish actually looks like in person, but i also think people overstate how big the difference is. im so happy that hypnotic polish is now stocking them so its easier as a european to have access to their polishes! i especially love the expedition atlantis collection, such beautiful shades.
Yeah I got Con Artist which looks like a beautiful shimmery red metallic polish on the swatches, but try as I might I can't seem to get it as opaque as the swatches. Have tried it over black in case that would help but 3 coats on top & still sheer. Will have to try it over a red polish I think to see if that's better. Also was a bit disappointed in the linear holos I got as they were very sheer & don't show up quite as much as I'd like them to for the price. I've had very cheap holo polishes show up in low lighting, so to have expensive holos only show up with the torch on my tablet? Waste of money really especially since I know its possible to have the holo show up in almost any lighting condition when done right.
I love Mooncat and I started using her products when they were under the company name Live Love Polish. I have way too many, but will never have enough! Right now, If Frogs Had Wings is my current favorite. Wearing it right now. My mom is loving it, too, as she's been wearing this shade for 2 weeks now!
I keep getting adds for them and they look so pretty and unique. I'm really impressed by the opacity of the ones you tried, I kept getting nervous they would take like 4 coats to build up but they didn't.
Don't buy the newest collection. The photos on their website show them as opaque, they claim they're opaque in 2 coats, but they're so damn sheer they literally take 5-6 coats to get even close to opaque. The photos on the website are fake 🤬 $100 refund is due to a lot of people.
Long-ish time (over 1.5 years) watcher, first time commenter (mainly b/c I watch youtube on my smart tv and don't do comments via that); I started painting my nails in Nov 2020 and you've been one of the most informative and entertaining youtubers I've found on the topic! I've been hearing about mooncat for a couple months and wondered if you'd done them yet, so I was pleased to see this. I haven't bought them yet, but am planning to suggest people get me gift cards for them (and KB Shimmer, which is one of my faves) for my birthday next month. ;) Really enjoyed the video, and I'm intrigued by Sealed with a Hiss, Mercury's Tears and Alien Invasion (and already had been curious about Fake Halo). Per your end of video question to us about painting toe nails - I do paint them, but not as frequently as my fingernails, as they seem to last a lot longer on my toes. (If nothing else, toes get used less than fingers, especially with starting a job at a warehouse a couple months ago!) But I do paint them, and don't match them to my mani (other than usually trying to NOT match them in particular... at least when I paint my toes, I'll intentionally avoid what I have on my fingernails. Once the toes are painted, I don't try to not-match my mani.) Anyhow, as always, great video, love your stuff, always looking to see what you do next!
I'm so glad you finally did Mooncat! Definitely would love to see you do more. They have quickly become one of my favorite brands and I have so many of their polishes 😅 would love to see you do some cremes and magnetic finishes next time
I’m guessing it might not be permanent, but the background decor is just lovely and is giving desert kelli energy so level up achieved miss girl ✨ it’s giving big witch energy and we love that for you
Interesting fun fact question. 🤗 I give myself a manicure weekly; different colors weekly. During Spring & Summer, I wear color on my toes that I change every 2 weeks. My nails grow fast, so I have to trim them every other week. Shorter nails work better with work, exercise, activities & dogs. 🐕🦺🦮When the weather is cooler (no sandals), I keep my toenails trimmed & filed, no color. I always wear a coat of Orly Nail Defense to protect my nails from breaks. Luckily, I rarely get broken nails. Manicures are awesome & fun self care. 💅🏻 Thanks for sharing a new brand. 🍁
I definitely paint my toenails more. You might like it too, since you are in a hot state now you'll be barefoot around the house almost all the time. Toenail polish looks so pretty in the sunlight and its very cheerful to have colorful toenails. 🙂 Your hair cut looks so good. Love you Kelli, glad you got your nail polish filming room set up!
I've been seeing ads for Mooncat on social media all the time, and I've been so curious! Their polishes look so pretty, and also I'm a crazy cat lady 🤣🤷♀️ It was great to hear your thoughts on them!
Thanks for the review Kelli and thank you ladies for the comments. I haven’t been in the nail game in quite a while but now that I’m dealing with skin cancers on my face I’m getting my nails back in shape as a distraction. I’ll probably be asking some nerdy questions! Love this channel! Be blessed sweet girl!
@@cat_623 thank you so much. I am definitely enjoying it. I’m almost 63 and enjoying stepping out of my comfort zone and wearing colors I never imagined myself wearing. Kelli’s color swatches have been a huge treat! No metastasis but they keep popping up. The derm put me on Tretinoin because it’s supposed to be preventive, therefore another issue of flaking and not wanting to wear makeup. I’m just a dang hot mess! 😂
Ive seen so many ads for MoonCat! Thanks for sharing this with us. I’m OBSESSED with the purple glittery one! I’d love to see more videos on this brand from you! 🤍🤍🤍
I LOVE Mooncat. They have been my favorite indie brand since I started buying their polishes earlier this year , when their Technicolor Dreams collection came out. Since then I have made multiple orders with different types of polishes and they are all amazing.
I really want to love these polishes, but many (not all) of the ones I’ve ordered end up looking pretty different in person than on their website (where they look beyond amazing). I was so happy to see your review which is a more realistic representation.
Hey Kelli, I've been LOVING Mooncat for a good while now. I was so excited to see you swatch them. I'd love to see you swatch all of their collections. Due to all of their fun finishes and the "lit from within" look, they have become a go to favorite!!! Swatch on! 😊❤️
😂You are so real Kelli, and your videos and vlogs show that. As a house bound, disabled person who loves unusual nail polish, watching your channels is so much fun and I enjoy all you do immensely. Thank you so much.
I like Mooncat! I'm glad you decided to review them! Their one coat black is PERFECTION! Coverage similar to Holo Taco except it doesn't get goopy after a few uses. I have so many colors I want to buy but I've been going crazy on Bees Knees the last few months so I haven't had money. LOVE Lord of the Rings and will absolutely watch that vid! Excited to see your reactions. They tell you to take your polish off during surgery because if you start to lose oxygen your fingers will turn purple under the nails first. I don't like doing toe nail maintenance. Toes are hard to reach comfortably 🤣 but I'll do them if I'm going on vacation or something.
I’m glad you’re finally reviewing them! I’ve been a fan since before their rebrand, but their rebrand is *chef’s kiss*. The fantasy/mystic vibe they have going works so well, the color names are incredibly creative and the description for each color feels like reading a mini fantasy novel. Their magnetic colors are great, and they have matte colors (not just a top coat!). Excited to see you try more of their product
So glad you tried Mercury’s tears! I keep seeing their adds and that one definitely caught my eye. I typically paint my nails 1-2x per week, toenails probably only once a month
I've been following Mooncat for a while, and I haven't tried them yet,but I reeeeeally want Poseidon's Prize. 😅 I was so excited to see you review their products!
I have alot of Love Live Polish but haven't gotten any since they rebranded as Mooncat. I still love them. I do not paint my toenails as much. I usually paint it once a month or even less. Whenever it chips or I notice the new growth. I can paint my nails for work so I do that more when I have time.
Mazel tov on your move and new home! Wow, thanks for reviewing Mooncat, very unique. I am already finding some I love! YES, more reviews! Let us know when you have a discount code.
I love mooncat, I was afraid the reason you never talked about them was some hidden drama I didn't know about since it seemed like they have a lot of the finishes you like. I have not tried their cremes yet, and I always get distracted by something else when I order. They also have a super generous rewards program which is a nice bonus. Their early summer magnetic collection got me to finally get good with a magnet; so pretty and I love every color in that collection, I think it is called Expedition: Atlantis. I am also super lazy about painting my toenails, especially in the winter.
Finally! I've been a fan of Mooncat since they were Live.Love.Polish. I only have a few of their colors and cherish them! I love you, Kelli, but I'm so glad you branched out to something other than the normal rotation. Your voice is soothing and I love your process, but I was getting a little bored. This was a great pick-me-up! 😊
YES FINALLY! I'M SO GLAD U FINALLY TRIED THEM! One of my fave brands at this point for sure. Their rewardsprogram is amazing, they're super unique, n soooo stunning! You have to try their cremes, some of them are just insanely beautiful and their formula is super impressive♡ I'm not usually someone that needs whole collections, but Mooncat I just kinda need them all 😆 btw Sealed With a Hiss for their snake collection made me laugh so hard n is one of my fave polish names ever 😆
Hi Sweetie!! My Favourites Are: #1 Alien Invasion #2 Mercurys Tears💙 #3 Sealed With A Hiss💜 #4 Fake Halo #5 If Frogs Had Wings #6 Sandtrapped Over Black I Paint My Toenails Probly Once A Month. When They Start Growin Out. I Just Painted Em Rose Gold Last Nite.
Omg! Thanks for that review! I was thinking about getting some to try from them and now I am sure that I will love them :) ... I would love to see more reviews of them. Especially more different finishes and/or green and darker shades! Have a nice Day :)
Finally!!!! I’ve been wanting to MoonCat out. Now I know to get some the next time I want to order some nail polish! I love that they have so many different finishes and I love the wide brushes!!!! Thanks for the review!
I'm always a fan of your makeup looks, but I especially love this one! That lipstick color is amazing! I've also enjoyed Mooncat for a long time, most of my polishes are from their Live Love Polish days and I'm so proud of the founder's story about rebranding in a way that she feels is more true to herself.
I have been so waiting for you to try Moon Cat. I have a couple of these colors. Gosh I love their polishes. I love that pale pink you tried. Gonna have to try that one. I have both of those holos and I love those. Please review more!!!! Also you eyemakeup is insane in how gorgeous it is!!!!! I keep my toes painted. I always do something neutral so it matches everything.
Yes! Finally a mooncat Swatch! Honestly I would love to see you swatch all of their polishes, I think they are such a fun, funky & unique brand with great polish! Did you know that it's the rebrand of Live Love Polish?
Hi, love your videos! So glad you tried Mooncat, I just received their new Kaleidoscope Haze collection plus Curiosity’s Prey. Their polish lasts around 2 weeks on my nails (I had to do a wear test) and that top coat is awesome!! Anyhow, if you happen to read this, keep being awesome and thanks for sharing your reviews, they have been so helpful.
Hey Kelli! Really cool polishes, good selection to get a feel of the brand. I wanted to say, I get this geeky vibe from you, I'm surprised you haven't joined the Polished Gamers Box community. I'd love to see you review the new indie shades for every box.
I paint my toe nails every week during the spring, summer and fall. During winter it’s every two weeks. Since I homeschool my son I paint my nails almost every day
Hi Kelli! I love Mooncat, glad you tried the brand and hope to see more of them on your channel. They had a recent rainbow jelly flakie release but I haven't seen many swatches yet. I'd recommend getting Sweet Nightmare (periwinkle creme), Dream within a dream (matte purple), Mortals be warned (indigo- red multichrome) and any of their magnetics if you want to try more! I was especially impressed by Sunken Splendor and Apollo, stunning and unique magnetic shades IMO
Your background is SO CUTE!! I'm excited to see you feature Mooncat, I've been eyeing them for a few months now. For some reason when anything has "moon" in it I'm sold instantly lol
OMG a Midsummers dream reminds me of this wonderful Loreal polish called Sea Fleur from about 20 years ago and I've never seen another like it until now! It was my absolute favorite.
I'm wearing "Phobos" over Mooncat's "the 13th Hour" (a metalic, blackened royal blue) right now and it's beautiful!! My other favorite of theirs is "Head in the clouds". I can't wait to check out some more from Mooncat!
I am so glad that you have done a review on MoonCat. I have been using their polishes for a while now (since before they changed their name) and absolutely love them. Their polishes are so unique and beautiful.
I was so excited to see you review Mooncat. I love the options they have and have been using it since back when they were Live Love Polish. Thanks to them I finally enjoy doing my nails again.
Not gonna lie, been thinking about making another Mooncat order and now I think I will 😂 Glad you loved them, I love the polishes I have from them! Also love your eye makeup! The colours are awesome! 😍
This became my new favorite indie brand after I bought four bottles. Thank you for reviewing three different finishes! This will help me choose when making a future purchase.
So glad you tried Mooncat!!! I discovered them recently and they are incredible! I absolutely love their topcoat, best one I’ve tried so far! I really enjoyed their summer collection that was like ocean themed? I picked one from that collection that is magnetic and man. First magnetic polish and it is incredible. Possibly the longest lasting polish I own!!

Agree with everything Abby says! I do also love the wear length time with mooncat, as I've had a hard time with many other polishes.

thats the one that caught me too! love it

I always wear a coat of Orly Nail Defense to protect my nails from breaks. Luckily, I rarely get broken nails. Manicures are awesome & fun self care. 💅🏻 Thanks for sharing a new brand. 🍁
Yes! Please review more Mooncat!! I’ve been so curious about their matte finishes!!
I definitely paint my toenails more. You might like it too, since you are in a hot state now you'll be barefoot around the house almost all the time. Toenail polish looks so pretty in the sunlight and its very cheerful to have colorful toenails. 🙂
Your hair cut looks so good. Love you Kelli, glad you got your nail polish filming room set up!
Wow, gorgeous colors, especially love the holos! ❤️ 😍 would love to see you swatch some of their collections
I've been seeing ads for Mooncat on social media all the time, and I've been so curious! Their polishes look so pretty, and also I'm a crazy cat lady 🤣🤷♀️ It was great to hear your thoughts on them!
Purple and green packaging.. awesome. Finishes look great. You look super cute as well.
Oh thank you so much 🥰🥰
Thanks for the review Kelli and thank you ladies for the comments. I haven’t been in the nail game in quite a while but now that I’m dealing with skin cancers on my face I’m getting my nails back in shape as a distraction. I’ll probably be asking some nerdy questions! Love this channel! Be blessed sweet girl!
Oh no! ❤
I'm sorry that happened to you, Lisa. Best wishes for a full recovery and no metastasis.
So glad you did Mooncat!! Mercury's tears is so pretty and alien invasion
Wonderful polishes! I recently got my first mooncat polishes too 😊 Yes part 2 please!
Yay glad you enjoyed!!
Ive seen so many ads for MoonCat! Thanks for sharing this with us. I’m OBSESSED with the purple glittery one! I’d love to see more videos on this brand from you! 🤍🤍🤍
I’m so glad you got Sealed with a Hiss because I could not stop looking at my nails when I was wearing that. It’s so pretty!
Is it hard to remove? I like the look of it but I only go for nail polish that is super easy to take off.
I'm glad you tried them and liked them! I really like Moon Cat. They have a pretty wide variety of finishes and I just really love.
I LOVE Mooncat. They have been my favorite indie brand since I started buying their polishes earlier this year , when their Technicolor Dreams collection came out. Since then I have made multiple orders with different types of polishes and they are all amazing.
They're super pretty!!
I love mooncat so much and am so glad you're finally trying them. Please do not sleep on their matte polishes! Rue Morgue is everything!
Oh yay I'm so happy you found my little corner of the internet 🥰🥰 Thank you for being here and for your kind words!!
Love Moon Cat. They also have some beautiful magnetics. Thank you for reviewing them. I would love to see some more from them.
As soon as I saw the title I got so excited!! I am waiting for my order to arrive
I looove moon at nail polishes. I’ve never seen such a gorgeous magnetic nail polishes before I knew the brand …
I really love If Frogs Had Wings, Mercury's Tears and Sealed With a Hiss
I’m glad you’re finally reviewing them! I’ve been a fan since before their rebrand, but their rebrand is *chef’s kiss*. The fantasy/mystic vibe they have going works so well, the color names are incredibly creative and the description for each color feels like reading a mini fantasy novel. Their magnetic colors are great, and they have matte colors (not just a top coat!). Excited to see you try more of their product
I would love a review of the magnetic reflective ones! I was tempted to buy it but I would love a review from you
So glad you tried Mercury’s tears! I keep seeing their adds and that one definitely caught my eye. I typically paint my nails 1-2x per week, toenails probably only once a month
Makes sense! Toenail polish just lasts longer anyway!
I love Mooncat’s bottle design and A Midsummer’s Dream is one of my favorite nail polish shades!
I'm so excited for you to review this brand.
I love mooncat for their magnetics! super gorgeous
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the switch up - I'm doing a new series soon on this channel I think you'll find pretty exciting!!! 😁😁😁
I'm so glad you reviewed this brand, been seeing them on Facebook, didn't know how good they would be.

Omg! Thanks for that review! I was thinking about getting some to try from them and now I am sure that I will love them :) ... I would love to see more reviews of them. Especially more different finishes and/or green and darker shades!
Have a nice Day :)
More! I bought a couple bottles years ago and LOVED both of them.
Finally!!!! I’ve been wanting to MoonCat out. Now I know to get some the next time I want to order some nail polish! I love that they have so many different finishes and I love the wide brushes!!!! Thanks for the review!
Every one I have is so beautiful. Slowly growing a collection of mooncat.
I was waiting for someone else to say how amazing her makeup- particularly her eyes. Wow:
Their Speed Demon top coat is the best I’ve ever used.
I think this brand is honestly my favorite. Their colors are GORGEOUS
I have 8 Mooncat polishes and absolutely love the brand. Adding new polishes as I can afford them. Also love their witchy vibe!
Hey Kelli! Really cool polishes, good selection to get a feel of the brand.
I wanted to say, I get this geeky vibe from you, I'm surprised you haven't joined the Polished Gamers Box community. I'd love to see you review the new indie shades for every box.
I’m so glad you reviewed Mooncat. I’ve been wanting to try them. I will definitely try some of the shades you swatched.
I'm glad to see you reviewing some mooncat polishes!! I just picked up a few of their polishes for the first time recently and have really loved them.
Those were all really different looking and beautiful. Thanks. I had never heard of them.
I was excited to see you check them out. They keep popping up on my Facebook feed. I'm sure they will be too. I'll prob go ahead and try a bottle now.
I love mooncat!!! Especially their greens and dark shades. Glad you tried them out!
On those tricky pearly streaky finishes, I like to take advantage of the streaks, by pushing them in different directions.
A Midsummer’s Dream is totally my jam!! One of my favorite colors and finishes too!
Absolutely love Mooncat! So delighted to see them swatched ❣️
Not gonna lie, been thinking about making another Mooncat order and now I think I will 😂 Glad you loved them, I love the polishes I have from them!
Also love your eye makeup! The colours are awesome! 😍
Oh gosh thank you!! I've been in a makeup rut for so long, I just wanna try crazy combos haha!
Mooncat and kbshimmer make my favorite colors :)
My favourites are Alien invasion, Mercury's tears, Moon flower and Sealed with a kiss!
Mercury’s Tears, Moonflower and Midsummer’s Dream are my favourites!
Such pretty ones!
What a fun selection of polishes! That bronzey holo though 👌 🤩
I only paint my toes when absolutely necessary but change my mani 2 to 3 times a week.
