with remote work, why would anyone have to commute to NYC 5 days per week? Seems antiquated now. Commuting for office work should be over. My son graduated from college and got a 100 percent remote job for a national software company. He loves it and he is not wasting any time or money on a commute.

New Yorkers don't like that term " outer boroughs " , that is a Manhattan elitist term. Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island are just as much New York City as Manhattan. They are not the suburbs. Just because an area is dominated by houses doesn't automatically mean it's suburban. Half of the entire city are residential neighborhoods dominated by houses. But the population density of those sections of the city are way to high to be suburban. They're still urban areas. The threshold for an area to be deemed urban is 2213 households per square mile. There is no section of the 5 Boroughs of NYC that falls under this number therefore the entire 5 Boroughs are urban by its proper definition. Some more densely populated than others but all urban none the less. And the vast majority of people living in New York City don't live in Manhattan, they live in Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx.

Hello. I live in Summit New Jersey, the schools here are diverse and a kind community, my children went to Jefferson, the teachers are really kind there.

The town is a communist enclave. Beautiful old homes and taxes that will choke you.

Thanks for sharing. Not sure about that last data point - 1.5 months supply. As of Dec 31 2024, there are only 3 houses for sale (everything else is Under Contract/Pending). So, how does that equate to 1.5 months? What am I missing?

I think Wanaque, New Jersey is a great town to live. The people are always friendly, the schools are great, and there’s very little crime. You’re always feel safe when you visit or move there.

I know a lot of people love large kitchens. I want a living room to always be considerably 2/3’s bigger than the kitchen. They seem to make them the other way around.

Something you should know before you buy in Hamilton Park, Jersey City - it is among the most dangerous neighborhoods as a pedestrian. You and your kids/pets are in a danger of being hit by cars at all the intersections. All the intersections in this neighborhood are all-way stop signs which was fine, say 20 years ago, but today it has dense pedestrian activity along with increased number of cars. But what makes is especially worse is this neighborhood gets a lot of thru traffic from drivers who don't live here but they just want to cut through this neighborhood to get on/off the Holland Tunnel and that has especially deteriorated the quality of life in this neighborhood. Too bad, such a beautiful and peaceful neighborhood has been destroyed by poor traffic law enforcement and bad drivers of Jersey City and NJ/NY. Just look at the SeeClickFix map of Hamilton Park and you'll know about people complaining about the pathetic state of pedestrian safety in this neighborhood. On Reddit, there is a video of a kid/pet/human almost getting hit at some intersection in this neighborhood.

I 've been there alone only once in my life for a few hours, it was September 2023, it was a beautiful balmy summer day, I got some garments and then enjoyed a beer on the main street. Madison NJ is an amazing small city, I wish one day I could live there, hope it will not remain a souvenir and will return there very soon! Lucky people, those who get a life there!
