    Thanks again Tim. Just up the road from me. It was a pity you did not catch the turning of the loco on the turntable at Amamoor. I travelled on it years ago when it ran to Imbil.

      You live in a nice part of the world, the crew had the locomotive on the turntable and turned before I'd had chance to get there, I should have been quicker off the mark. It must have a memorable experience travelling to Imbil by train.

    I may have skipped the previous videos out of boredom, but there was no way on earth I could possibly have ignored this. This is my favourite kind of Driver's Eye View with a steam engine.
    Now that you can do it, let's make a chain now,
    Chugga-chugga motion like a railway train now.
    Do it nice and easy now, don't lose control,
    A little bit of rhythm and a lotta soul.
    So come on, do
    The locomotion with me.
    I could kiss you for this, lol.

      Hi, I'm pleased you enjoyed the video, it was a nice railway to visit and the staff and volunteers were very friendly. I have about a dozen cab ride videos waiting to be edited and uploaded to TH-cam, you will like some of them, but not all. I liked your poem, was it inspired by the Little Eva song "the Loco-Motion"? 😊

    • @kellyashfordtrains2642

      @@Timsvideochannel1 It is the Little Eva song, The Locomotion. I sang the lyrics to let you know how happy you made me feel. In the 1980s, Kylie Minogue recorded a cover version on the song.

      I love to get off the tourist trail and this railway is a real gem, I have a number of books showing Australian branch lines in the steam age such as Eric Marggraf's "This Was the Railway". The Mary Valley Railway brings those evocative photographs to life.

      @LlewellynBikes 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Timsvideochannel1 I know Eric Marggraf's book well. I had no idea you were down my way of the world. I am currently using your latest WHR videos to aid my training as I am returning to Wales for another stint again soon. They are very good and I have only found the one video for the up direction from Beddgelert to Port. Are there others from Caernarfon to Port? Any how I am a steam driver at the Rattler and would have loved to met you but I suspect you were there on a Wednesday, I can only do weekends. If you are in Wales (Boston Lodge) this UK summer ask about for Dazza. (one of the Aussies, as there will be two of us this year)

      @@LlewellynBikesIt's a really nice book, his photographs are excellent. The people on the WHR go the extra mile to make sure visitors enjoy their time at the railway, I'm planning on visiting the WHR again this summer, with a bit of luck it won't be raining and I'll be given permission to video the route from Caernarfon to Porthmadog. The only video I'm aware of showing the route in that direction is by Video 125 - www.video125.com/search?q=welsh+highland+railway It would have been nice to meet up at the Mary Valley Railway. I know a number of volunteers on the WHR and the FR, I'll ask if any of them know Dazza. I live on England's South Coast between the Bluebell Railway and the Watercress Line. One of my travelling companions used to be a driver on the Puffing Billy, now he is a station master at Menzies Creek. I met a driver on the Bluebell Railway who spends half the year driving on the Bluebell Railway and the other half driving on Puffing Billy, although Covid put an end to his travelling for a few years. Queensland Rail run some of the best trains in Australia and they are a fraction of the price of the well know trains such as the Ghan or the Indian Pacific. Outside of Queensland. I meet very few people who have heard of the Spirit of the Outback, the Spirit of Queensland, the Gulflander or the Savannahlander. I will visit Queensland again to film the sugar cane trains, they fascinate me. Maybe we'll meet up one day.

    • @Timsvideochannel1
      @Timsvideochannel1  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not as dry as it looks. Out of interest I looked up the average rainfall in my home town and Gypie. The average rainfall in Bognor Regis - 928 mm | 36.5 inch per year, the average rainfall in Gympie - 855 mm | 33.7 inch per year. Bognor Regis has plenty of rain and the rainfall in Gypie is similar although the difference between the dry season and the wet season is more pronounced. The excellent steady software built into today’s GoPro cameras makes all trains appear to be much smoother than they actually are 😉.

      It is not mainline any more. It is a heritage railway. Actually there are no working semaphore signals on the line. The one recently installed at the station platform that appears to be a Starter is non working and is on the base of the colour light signals that were all removed in the 1990's. I am just back from the weekend of firing and driving 967.

      The locomotive sounded really good. I looked on the internet to find out where the name originated, this is the answer I found - "The railway's correct name is the Mary Valley Heritage Railway; 'Rattler' is actually the name for an individual train, a vintage railbus called the Red Rocket, which used to convey schoolchildren up and down the valley".
