Hey Jay! It's good to see another video from you. It's been a while. I totally understand being too busy to create content. I work like a rented mule myself! Keep working towards those family goals. There is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel.
yes, it has been a bit and still struggling to come up with things. Im so beat up the thought of playing with the camera is truly difficult. lol. we are getting there i think though. I tell you, im kinda glad I can put it away and it not affect me, I am as you are im sure getting stuff done that has to be done. It takes me awhile to get into that work zone, but im in it. now I just want work and more work. Only gym 1 time in last month. lol Keep pushing friend, be holidays before we know it and maybe chance to chill a bit. be careful out there. : family goals!! jay
We retired in my Wife's home province of Batangas in 2015 and have NO regrets. We are nearly 100% self sufficient on a beautiful farm. If we stayed in Pennsylvania we would still have to work full time and our pension would be spent within a few days. Living here in Batangas we can save $$. I keep things honest and do minimal edits on our videos
Awesome friend, your already situated and lots of experience
Hello, Batangas sounds interesting. The name keeps coming up. I'll to do some research. Glad you all are surviving well. Have tons check you 2 out. Stay safe. Jay

Great update Jay thanks for the shout out hehehe - keep harvesting those sheds! As a CPA money is not the root of evil the greed for money is and so raise the price if demand gets to crazy LoL I enjoy following you and your family. ❤
Hello Mr. Ricio. Demand is good. im trying to harvest as many as i can. its not easy work but thats why I chose it. always in demand. CPA, wish you was local, I may need one next year. Going to try and push this business now that son is starting to show interest. We are getting busy with some new titles and videos soon. I got another month of being busy then ill slow a bit before we head back to phils. Hope your doing well on the west coast. talk again soon. sorry for delay, it feels like I read this message earlier today and wife said no, its been a few days. I coulndt believe 4 days had passed. lol crazy. jay
No worries Jay we are both on a journey key is our health!!! Physical and mental stress from work speaking for myself at age 57

Hi Jay, this city boy from Watts is loving the Philippines. Especially the province area. Hope all is good for you and the family.
Hey partner, Watts huh, wow. That's definitely taking one way of life to the other way. Awesome finding that special place. Hope your well out there.
Great to see you and the family. Excited that you are getting closer to going back to the islands. So much work to do!
@MyIslandRetreat hope to get another done this week. But got sheds waiting next 3 Mondays. We will see. Hope your well.
Things are doing better, thanks Jay
Nice place Jay. You have lot of patience. Thanks for your information.
thank you, yes, it takes a lot of patience, but it's worth it!
You’re daughter and wife are perfectly lovable, so anything about them will create interest. You seem like a very kind, yet straightforward guy. We’re almost neighbors since I live n Arkansas. I’m trying to find my way for the rest of my life, since my wonderful wife of 20 years passed away from cancer two years ago. I’m not rich, but not poor, and maybe could find my way to the Philippines. I have one problem you don’t have, in that I’m 72 with no serious health problems, and I do work out with weights. I’m mainly wondering if I’m too old to make this move.
No but be realistic and get a girl arround 30+ at least be realistic if you can make some children you want to leave them financially secured and help create family Businesses with the leftover money which keep them going even after your death. Plus if you already have children you want to leave them something behind also.
Mr Barry, you took care of your health for a reason. Use the muscle to take the chance. 72 is fine if you have taken care of yourself. You can do it. Once your there, things will work themselves out. I absolutely think a 72 yr old who has taken care of his body and health can make it. Your in top percent of health over there for seniors. You've done well.
True bro, you have to check triple times in National land authority or in the municipal weather its legit 🙏🤙🎉
Yeah, I don't have much trust yet. It takes time to find the right people. Not easy.
I grew up in Tennessee. The challenge with KY and TN is that the population is aging. It simply lacks the youthful vibrancy of the Philippines. Nothing against older folks but I didn’t fully comprehend I grew up in what amounts to a retirement community. I’m 31 now for reference.
yes, truly one of the main things about the phils is you never have to grow old and be an outcast because of your age. you can date and or hang out with all ages. Ky is old in my area also. we got along road ahead, will be fun to be honest. :)
Your vlog contents are great and informative. Keeping it real and showing it as it is. We also plan on retiring in the Philippines. We feel like we’re more alive there lol. You have a beautiful little family. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Rose! Hope you are well. Appreciate your kind words. Nice to wake up to positive comments. 😀 jay
Hello Jay, I hope that you and your family are doing well.
Hello Lazy A, we are doing well. Just truly in our busy season and school. I got 2 more months of sheds and then we are out of here. Hope you are staying healthy and survivng the summer heat. :) j
Wow! your place is God's country looks peaceful and beautiful. Jay, check on the good, the bad the Philippines vlog. they are moving back to Texas.
Hey there, yes, I saw that. I been watching them for awhile. I saw the house build. He's going back, I'm not sure really it's wise or not. But they probably know best. I'm curious if they will be happier in USA.
Yuir filipina wife is sure lucky to have you,, mabihay
Great Video Jay. For us, a day working in Australia, is another day closer to going back to the Philippines. in 5 years time we aim to be semi retired and living in Bohol. We are already putting the wheels in motion for that. ie. Ensuring our finances are set, contract work while visiting Australia etc...From what I have gathered, a lot of people fail to plan
Thank you! Hope your plans go well. It's a fun time for sure. Hope to hear more. Yes, many don't have much of a plan at all.
@@jaysphilippines Thank you for the reply Jay. You take care.
Feeling the same call brother. Spent a month there this year, each year here is like all the previous. My son is a junior this year, so we may stick it out for his case. Home schooling is a great advantage ya'll have. Your building skills, although different from the PI will certainly transfer over if you care to continue to work. If we go, we sell everything since it would be too expensive to maintain while in the PI. That being said if we had to come back, it would be a rough transition. BTW Juell's house is up for rent over there, and looks really tempting! God Bless your decision!
Hello Donald, I saw juells house for rent. I doubt it will be available for our needs but I'll try to rent it for 3 months of holidays, see what happens. Can teach my daughter to swim there hopefully. Sticking around here for grandkids and mother. That's why for us we keep thinking it's 60-40. Hope you get to go back when it's a better situation. I am missing it. Stay safe brother. Jay
Hi Jay, I hear ya on the heat. Here in Southern Japan, the heat has been unbearable. It’s averaged 38~42C (up to 105F). I just arrived home after watching fireworks to set off the beginning of a local dance festival this evening. It’s late now, so I’m only watching the beginning of this video for now. I like the countryside acreages in Kentucky where you are. It sure is very green there. Wow, is that your neighbor’s corn?! Talk later.
Yes, we are surrounded by corn this year and cows on the other side. Last year was soy. I like corn growing. Very green here, and hot here also. It's close to breaking to fall weather soon. I'm ready. Ready for a new season. New blogs, new outlook. Hope your well buddy and staying healthy. J
You choose a destination for your family is in Philippines, we are abundants in fruits crops food etc. Just live here, with God and trust Him.
Thank you, hope you are well. Jay
Enjoyed the vlog Jay your doing well I’m happy your subs are climbing. One thing I would not do is buy land without being here far too risky check everything clean title everything. Just my opinion. Anyway keep the nose to the grind stone and put those dollars away. Cheers 🍻
Hey Peter, that's pretty much the deal at moment. Time ticking by, just work and work. Wake up to another month gone. Hope to focus on channel soon. Hope your surviving summer well! Be safe buddy. Jay
Oh ong yuo dont feel cold,,
Your wife does a great job editing and putting together all the interesting clips. You are definitely a different type of vlog vs the talking head.
Yeah, hope it can continue. It could be better when we get back to Phil's soon. Appreciate that comment. Hope your well fish! Jay
Yes..right..everything is about budget and right decision...economic situation is changing everywhere..like in middle east..before electricity is subsidise by government, now not anymore!
Buying a property or lands in ..ask if the land title is clean...since some are putting it as guarantee as shark loan. Price, check with the municipaly vs market price...let yourcwife or relative deal with the pricing...they might ask higher for a foreigner.
Thank you Rob, I just showed wife your message. Reminding her to help me. 😀. It's a very tricky situation.
Well Hi again Jay ! You just put out another awesome video by way of that beautiful wife ! Yes, life does go by WAY to fast. One thing you have to do is step off the rat race , here or Phils. And smell the coffee. You think you are behind , but your ahead . You just right now don't have that feeling that your winning the game yet ! Kieri , will find her way in life. Why ? Adelyn and your hard work on giving her a wonderful start in life. The sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar. that tomorrow there'll be sun. Show her how God loves her. If she goes away for a while. She will come back and you will know you did your job. Your the boss, but you can't control everything ! You are so blessed how God has step into ALL 3 of your lives. Make videos, have fun , live everyday like it is your last. You are doing fantastic . The "B" ball game is not in the fourth Qtr yet ! Take the 3 points , and keep driving for the lay ups . God Bless
Very good american,,,
I know you build chicken coops...but when did you get chickens? Are they long term (as in who's going to take care of them and the cat while in Phils)...or are the chickens headed for the table?
You noticed I have a dilema, lol. the cat is wild and i am a bit attached to him as he looks for me each moring for something to eat. ill have to talk brother into making daily trips. the chickens on the other hand is a issue as they are for the kids and my egg consumption. I have not figured that part out yet as im guessing ill have to take them over to brothers house and let them free range with their 30 chickens as a possible answer. ideally my son is going to live here and work for me soon I think and he will be here. Plans in motion. :) ill update that and vlog it. its no secret. I need my son to join me in sheds so I can escape more often and see grandkids more.
@@jaysphilippines I understand...I caught a feral kitty when it was about 8 weeks old...ended up having him 18 years. No more pets for me! lol Good to have animals as a kid, no doubt your daughter enjoys having them around. I had all kinds, rabbits, chickens goats etc etc. You going to be showing the kitty, coop and chickens in a video?
@jl909-nr5vx next video, we are trying now for Friday morning Philippines. Chickens and cat, need two mini goats now. Trying to find my dairy cow also, they are all out of state so far. Be safe buddy, talk soon
Jay Captain Trucker is in there passing your place going to Nashville?
i didnt know that, i just talke with him recently. I think he is going to come visit sometime soon. we will have to make a couple videos on it. hope you are well.jay
@@jaysphilippines thats awesome brother a collaboration with Captain Trucker you have the same and similar concept in Life.
My town BIliran.
Lots of biliran videos coming.
when I retire at 62 in 2 years when my Filipina Asawa and our two little FilAm kids move to Dumaguete from Texas it will be full time… not going back and forth to USA for xx months at a time. Jay you could watch your video in silence and just the stark difference between the Kentucky clips & Philippine clips says it all… boring vs excitement. Take care. See y’all in Dumaguete sometime.
Hey Mike! Sorry I missed this one, catching up on a few. It looks like we will be back for 4 months this winter. So should be interesting, hope we can meet up. The difference is big, between here and there, absolutely. Lol 😆 be safe, jay
Thats business class flights bro. Its a waste of money. You can get this for less than half of 10000 dollar easy. Yes it may be uncomfortable and stressful but you save half of the money. So dont complain about the costs if you are not willing to do that.
I mean this politely, but you not got a clue. Lol 3 tickets for flights through middle east which are half price of going west coast. 2700. 900×3 2700. Hotels, taxis to and from airports, food for 2 days. 3k. I eat healthy, I'm 235, I don't live on rice. I eat, healthy food ain't cheap. My kid and wife eat healthy. 20 bucks a day would be amazing, but not realistic. I work out, I eat a lot. 20x 90 day trip. This isn't a month, it's 3 month trip. 1800 for food at 20 a day 90 x 3 people. 500 month rental which is not even nice in Dumaguete. 1500. So I've just shown you flights at 3000, food at 1800 and rent at 1500. There is no such thing at business class for 3 for 900 a ticket. I just showed you 6300 with airfare that's on the seasonal low price, currently they running over 1200 each. Food at 20 a day which is not even realistic. Basic rental for 500. Like I said 10k. Scooter rental, gym membership, trips outside the condo, snacks, fun entertainment, ferries, visas, sight seeing, well over 10k.
When would you see an American woman cutting grass when she has a man. Amazing teamwork.
Thank you Lawrence, she has been special to me. Thanks. Jay
Wow😱 your in the Philippines, but your place like american style😅.🇵🇭🇺🇸
Thank you! Jay
JAY, I'M HERE TO THE END ♥ ASAWA IS GOING BACK THE END OF THE MONTH FOR A MONTH, ON KOREAN AIR. ( THE BEST AND ONE OF THE MOST EXPENSIVE) [$ 1250 RT FROM VEGAS] HAVE YOU TRAVELED TO MINDANAO? GENERAL SANTOS, DAVAO, CDO? YOUR DAUGHTER CAN BE THE NEXT MISS PHILIPPINES BOSS MAN $$$$$$$$ THANKS JAY, KEEP IT UP ♥
The money is the big different to america to philippines you have 500,000 dollars youre rich in philippines
Absolutely Cenon! The value of money can be very different between the U.S. and the Philippines. Having $500,000 can really provide a comfortable lifestyle in the Philippines. It’s interesting to see how the cost of living impacts our perceptions of wealth. Thank you for sharing your thoughts - jay
