Hey Jay, it’s called maturity. You are a lucky man to find your place and partner in this world. A lot of others never get that peace of mind and heart. A lot of us military veterans have gone through two or three marriages only to end up old, feeling useless and used up. Everyone has skinken thinken that it’s all about money. Or that you saved her family, but it’s really the fact that someone saw something or someone who still had worth as a human being. We didn’t save anyone, they filled a void in our miserable existence and gave us a purpose in life.

Man, some messages need a faster response. This is one. You hit the nail on the head. It's a rough world out there and you said it perfectly. Yes, she definitely filled my void and I didn't need more years of bs to figure that out. I got a daughter again and darn good wife. You take care Mr.Fred. hope you stick around. Thank you! Jay

yeah! 33 as a filipina is old.. should have her own family already...especially having no boyfriend before? in my opinion, she's desperate to have one at that age and she just wanted you because you're her type of a guy not just because you're a foreigner as many foreigners think of every filipina "needing" a foreigner to change her life...

Frank, straightforward and candid words of wisdom indeed, from one has truly matured through time, and had the coveted fruits of life's experiences, after so many cycles of seasons with what life has to offer to anyone one who's searching and looking. Any foreigners going in any country, just respect the people and the country. Do not change the country or the people, it’s you, will have change. Then you can enjoy , anywhere in the world that you want to visit or experience. Do not under estimate the people or the country. Just learn the way they lived, if it’s not for you, then go somewhere else. Until you find what you like in life.

Hello. I admire you being straight-forward and honesty. To be honest, mosy Filipinas are very good i. taking good care of their husband amd kids specially when you treat them nice amd respect them. Because that's the culture. But of course not all. You can still find otherwomen who are not. If got one nice filipina woman, you are lucky. Filipinos are family-oriented. Filipinos can still be happy, smile and laugh despite the hardships in life.
You are a real man. I salute you for taking your responsibility coz most men just leave their women once they got impregnated. They vanish right away.
You will be blessed for doing the right thing. God always gives back to us according to what we have done.
Good begets good. Evil begets evil.

My husband came here after we have been talking on the phone, doing video calls 2-3 hours a day for 5 months. We got married 2 weeks after he landed in Manila from the States.
Best decision I've ever made. I've been in a long term relationship in the past but it didn't work out. This one just took me less than 6months before getting married. I'm a working professional in PH too. My husband has been the best. He is sweet, caring, and hardworking. I couldn't ask for more and we'll have our 1st anniversary as husband and wife soon. ❤

Whether the Philippines or America -- a good motivational perspective of how to get out of a rut and get your life refocused. Your experience shows that life has a lot more texture to it if you look around and really explore and understand how you fit in your world, and how others fit in relation to you.

Nice. Wish I could give multiple likes. Good to hear someone being real and honest while being entertaining. Better to hear my own thoughts and experiences validated. I visited the Philippines for the first time last month and Dumaguete/Valencia area was my first stop. I planned to go to other islands from there but I ended up staying there the whole time. Somewhat due to the area ticking every box on my list, but mostly due to meeting the most wonderful people I've met in a long time and not wanting to leave them. Coming back in July for another three weeks and then again in the beginning of 2025. Unless I missed something critically wrong in my initial impressions, or the world implodes, I'll retire there. Thanks for the video.

It made me reconsider dating again after being single for many years. It's nice to know the point of view of a foreign man trying his luck in the Philippines and how it changed you as an individual. As a Filipina myself, dating here is hard and so is marriage there's no divorce here. You and your wife are so lucky that you have found each other's arms. Keep up the TH-cam. Your kinda like the white Sunshine Shoulders TH-camr (in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental) good chat talk videos advice etc. Take care.

If only people include God in their lives. . . which if not all but most of us, Filipinos do. I'm glad that you finally get in-touched with your inner self, Jay with the instrumentality of your baby and your Filipina wife. Living life can truly have a difference then. Hi . At times life we want to make is not always the life we will be given by fate. It might not be planned but in the end it will be just fine. I hope you will mainly express your values about loving, marriage and valuing a relationship with the people we were led to be with. Show this in your vlogs. Nowadays here in America life of the unborn child is not valued anymore. It is the brainwashed minds of the irresponsible parents who does not respect life who decides what to do with the pregnancy. God has closed the doors in your life but opened the windows to give you bright perspectives. Your child and your wife become the path you take journey and make your life worth living. I got divorced here but I found a lady in Dumaguete i want to SPEND my life with someday. I hope to meet you Jay there in the Philippines when I visit.

Hi Jay. David here in Japan. I appreciate your open, self reflection and honesty. I agree, sometimes we are just putting in time, coasting simply due to perhaps being too comfortable without working towards definite goals. Actually, I’ve been there on/off here in Japan certainly during Covid19, although now my goal is to ultimately leave Japan and relocate to the Philippines. I’m older than you, so I would say my time to ‘get a girl pregnant’ and start a new family like you is not one of my life’s goals now. My desire is to simply have a peaceful, minimalist life and like you go to the gym, eat well and experience life in the tropics. I mentioned before I do happen to have a strong interest in building science (studying it for several years) and house construction, so would be interested in meeting you and discussing the option of working together in the not-too-distant future. Just one idea I have.

@@jaysphilippines Good morning Jay. We’re almost in the same time zone. I’m just 1 hour ahead in Japan. [I’ll admit, I wasn’t thinking - you’re back in Kentucky now]. Yes, being genuine, expressing our true character, personality, etc. is really freeing - and what I’ve really come to appreciate more especially in Japan where conforming is highly encouraged in a very rule-based, generally repressed society. Anyway, on a much lighter, practical note, sure let’s consider perhaps teaming up in the future if we have similar goals, work ethic and vision of what we wish to provide. I’m a former Chemist, Environmental Engineer and like you Health Care professional, so I value quality and sustainability and predominantly using natural materials. Plus design suitable to the climate. My focus here in Japan over the past 2 years has been to complete renovations myself on my 70+ year old traditional post and beam home in preparation to sell and move the Philippines. As fate had it, I’ll be staying here at least another 1-3 years. I was fortunate to build a relationship with an architect here who helped me a lot with Japanese design and traditional construction. As far as embracing a minimalist lifestyle, I’ve learned ‘less’ is often ‘more’. Just a reminder, I’m the guy who asked you about the availability of quality tools there. I expect you’ll remember. I’m contemplating my first trip to Negros Oriental in December/January. Yah, from what I’ve seen the market is ripe for opportunity there.

Surrounding myself with knowledgeable and quality friends is a big goal of mine. Would be exciting to meet up soon. When we can, 1-4 years isn't far in my mind. I'll be making 2-3 trips over this year, working on channel.

You gotta have to understand that virgin in your country is different than a virgin in the Philippines. She is not a virgin in her old age because she is ugly or shes got something wrong with her. She is a virgin because she preserved herself for that special person and is brought up with good morals and been taught traditionally that you only give yourself to that one person who you want to marry or after your wedding. We dont sleep around because we value ourselves. Unlike women in Western countries that you just go to clubbing and have one night stands. We dont do that, well, i have never done that. And i am sure most Filipinas are not like that. I am not sure nowadays what they are like. But just be careful. Do not take them to bed without an intention to take them seriously.
Those days a lot of women are so naive and innocent. They think if some foreigners show them interest they already think they are interested to marry them.
I came from the province of Cebu and during the 80’s to 2000’s no foreigners have been to south of cebu except if theyre married to a Filipina. But now you can see a lot of them. So i think girls nowadays know more and modernised to think the same mentality as we were back then. Living in the UK for 21 years, i know more now and i wish i know back then what i knew now.

I agree, women even men don’t sleep around in the Philippines since it’s a very conservative country and you’ll be labeled as sl*t and f*ckboy if you do that and people will look down on you. One reason why abortion and divorce is not legal in the country ‘cause we value family and commitment a lot. But the sad thing is hookup culture is slowly infiltrating the country due to the western influence.

@@jaysphilippines I sometimes mimic the recorded voices of telephone companies when you make a call and no one is answering telling you to leave a message like "the number you're trying to reach is no longer in service please check the number and dial again" or "hello.. the number you're trying to reach is not able to take your call right now.... if you would like to leave a message press 1 if you would like to erase and re record press 2 or just simply hang up...goodbye!' I do like voice overs too... But I have never done it in any setting. 😊

Being Filipina myself, I would definitely agree that there a lot of women in my country who are desperately desire foreigners for a husband. Regardless of, I can say, majority have good intentions and are potential life partner because culturally, Asian women especially South East Asia are raised to be homemakers and they get their fulfillment from being one. BUT BE EXTRA CAREFUL, few of these girls are can be "gold diggers" too, hard truth. Be wise men. I'm in my 50s, single. Been surrounded with foreigners due to work reason but I don't find most attractive and desirable despite some tried to pursue me.😬

I can relate to your story. I think most divorced western fathers can. The USA is a raw deal for having a family most of the time.
I'm glad there are alternatives out there to start over with.
What food did you find that you like to eat?

If im exercsing alot, a good ole roasted chicken, street vendors and a pile of white rice is pretty good. but if its just a normal day, im chickened burnt out often. thats the struggle in the philippines. there is nothing that comes to mind really thats easily obtainable if your not a local with connections. I will without a doubt have a cook in house making new things for me. but thats when your settled in, still living like a tourist has its challenges. I am not eating the pork from the shops i see. I like broth alot. but hard to get steak in duma. lol i dont think i helped you at all. its one of my hurdles to overcome there.
