I have watched a LOT..a LOT LOT A METRIC TON of sweeping videos and nobody else provides half the relevant and precise info in their technique present here. I can't wait to get back to my guitar to try to tame this beast once and for all.
You are the first person to really address the muting in detail for sweep picking, that is my biggest problem with most tutorials and its SO frustrating. Thank you!
Hi Larry, Flavio from Lessonface here. Ray does teach theory, indeed! You can message him directly on his Lessonface profile - Lessonface.com/music-instructor/ray-suhy
Thank you, Ray! I am finding some trouble with sweeping composition, everything seems like an exercise, I notice that sometimes you did only the rundown sweeping movement, is there a way to connect sweeping to other licks to sound more musical?

One question here. How to mute strings when upstroke? Using palm or fretting hands? Thanks.
You can use a little bit of a palm mute and also make sure that youre only fretting one string at a time so that nothing rings together.
Suhy! Suuuuuuuuuhy!
Do you teach theory? I saw you on lessonface.

Maybe stressing on the most important notes of the triad... I've heard things from Loomis or Brotherick's for instance
Glad you dug the lesson! Trying running a scale up to the top note of the sweep and then descend down the sweep arpeggio.
Great tutorial
Thanks!
