- With a bit of nerves, I set out on my first multi-night trip, to the beautiful and remote Rhinog Mountains wilderness. On day 1, I ascended the majestic Roman Steps and made camp in the rugged shadow of Rhinog Fawr.

What I have found with TH-cam is there are so many superb film makers on here making quality contributions with what is probably only a few hundred pounds worth of equipment (decent phone). The large broadcasting corporations have budgets of £millions but some of these TH-cam videos are as good, if not better. Claire is certainly one of the contributors who continues to provide us all with extremely well presented, quality material.
I would suggest that some broadcasting company snap her up for presenting something. She is a natural.
Great adventure and attitude to getting out in the wild. Wet feet and boggy ground is guaranteed in Wales. Lovely scenery though. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching Paul :D day 2 kicked my ass but was totally worth it, amazing place up there ❤
I found you whilst lying in bed recovering from abdominal surgery and absolutely love your videos. I started watching them in 'backwards' order, then decided to go 'oldest first'
It's fascinating to see how you do things differently and to realise how much more confident you are now! X
Lovely scenery, no way could I walk all that way with such a huge pack but it's great see it all from my sofa and much nicer than the rubbish on TV.
What a joy this woman is. Eternally cheerful and beautiful nature. The best ever company to have on a day’s hike.
Claire...seriously it's like watching the Discovery Channel...love it, awesome!
Aw wow thanks so much Jeff 😁🌿
The silence @5:14 and again @13:50 just wow! Just love the videos Claire, it's just such a relaxing watch. Ps I know its 2yrs old, but im watching them as they appear on screen 😊
To look at your videos is like medicine for my soul❤
Supertough Wildbeare continues her fascinating adventures through wild difficult terrain. We wish her all the best with her great travel vlog.Keep safe Wildbeare.
10/10 for effort. You picked probably the most remote area in Snowdonia and the Rhinogs is a proper mountain day not to be under estimated as you found out. But i love your energy and beautiful smile always worth watching 😉
As someone who came from Scotland to Beddgelert in Snowdonia for nearly 30 years in February by motorcycle to camp in the forests, i loved your adventure, cracking scenery, great views and gorgeous lady ! 👌
I really admire what you do, very adventurous/brave of you and the scenery is breath taking.
Aw thanks Paul, it blew my mind a lil bit, I'm used to the Snowdon range & Caider area but the beauty & isolation here is something else!
Oh, what an awesome adventure. As for me, I'm on the Chilterns tonight, should be a good sunset 😊👍🏕
It really is something special to be in the middle of nowhere with no phone signal or easy way out. It's that thrill I relish when out in places like this. This location looks lovely may well pop up there at some point for a few days. ATB Rob
It's gorgeous, day 2 was interesting as the paths disappeared 😅 properly wild, you'll love it
@@WildBeare can't wait 👍
See you liked Dan (camp life buscrafts ) pic on insta he took today of me and him in a field (I was by the tree with beer 🍻) just back in from that walk. Was so good to be out soaking up the nature vibes!
How can a person not fall in love with this lass, I just wild camping, discovered wild bear whilst on wandering where s site, fantastic way to see these awesome off the path places ,who better to show you with such passion for what is right in front of us, nice one lovely lass, watching your journeys heals me , keep doing it. All the best and happy travels to you and yours.
Amazing. I was lucky enough to have North Wales as my local playground for a short time in the 1980’s and your trips and expert cinematography are fabulous, thank you.
Awesome footage and scenery .👍can't wait for part 2. ATVB and stay safe from sunny Malaysia 😷🏕🇲🇾
Helloooo from England, thank you for watching :D
Epic views/scenery on Day 1, Claire.
Those Roman Steps looked a killer!
Home from home on the rock. Most comfortable 😉👍
Good up there Tim. Trust you're well mate.
@@WyeExplorer Truly are, Mark 👍🏼
All well thank you. I hope you are as well? 👋🏼😉
@@BourneOutside Hey, good to hear Tim. Getting on mate. Peace!
Wow, super far out. I prefer the Rhinogs to North Snowdonia. As you now know just simply wild - some of the last wilderness in Wales. Well done for stepping into the zone so to speak. I absolutely love going off piste into them bogs. And the sound in these wilderness areas is just so pure and perfect. It's no wonder we feel cleansed when we commune there. Well, looking forward to seeing how it unfolds. Good going. Mark
Well done you look forward to part two
So beautiful and what an adventure
❤❤❤
Well done lass, it'll be the lakes next on your list, then the pennines where I live :-) and finally way up in the Scottish Highlands
😁 been waiting for this!! going to wait and watch it with the little one...just going to get her from school!!....comments to be continued‼️
Well, thanks Claire...we finished watching and then proceeded to pack, unpack, repack, adjust, unpack then pack again!! She's 10 and enjoys your videos and the landscapes (I'm now asked if the pink bunny is coming back though??). This was like watching a movie with your cinematography and editing. Can't wait for the next one...brilliant 🏕 🔥 👍🏻
Sometimes in the mountains it can be hard to find a decent pitch ... Rocks grass clumps bogs etc...it often helps to have a small footprint tent or one man bivi... As much easier to find a place to sleep... In the past I've taken a tarp (erected on wall or trekking poles) as admin area and then hooped bivi to sleep IN.. but it's nice to have the room in a Decent tent too... so pros and cons
Great editing... that is a huge step up from the Downs! well done..
Haha thanks Brian! It sure was 😅
Really Nice video and Beautiful nature. Great adventure. 😅😊😊
Beautiful scenery, great filming, music and company 😊 . Looking forward to part 2! I am definitely not quite up to those types of hikes especially on my own! You would never see me again so hats off to you. I bet the feeling of accomplishment, confidence and strength you gained from doing it is something you won’t forget though. 😍 x
..hi, beautifully filmed, and enhanced by the accompanying music an absolute delight 🚶
Ok beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
I agree.. we all need to get out of our comfort zone once in a while. I just spent 3days hiking some snowy trails way back in the Sawtooth mountains of Idaho. I found a Hotsprings and soaked for an hour!!! It’s wonderful when you get out and hike a while... it’s amazing what you’ll see.
So funny listening to her trying to pronounce our Welsh words.. Bless!!! 😊
My Yorkshire wife has been with me in Wales for 12 years now. I remember her first attempts. Ha. She's got it now though.
It seems alien to me that people would struggle with our Ff or Rh. What a beautiful language though.
@@jamsams It is a beautiful language but difficult to pronounce most of the words 😉🤔
Super beautiful... the hike too 🤣
It's my favourite place in the world up there it's amazing great video
Thirty years ago I saw only my two companions all day at the Rhinogs ! The rock is rough on your boot soles and it holds the water , a bit like Dartmoor but higher . On a clear day you can see for miles , but I doubt I would wild camp as the wind can come up really quickly ..... you are maybe five miles from the sea and up high !
Looking out to the West I remember some very stunted trees , probably three feet tall and old old . Shane , my friend , pointed out some movement he had noticed in one of the trees . There was a newt on a tree branch . It is the only time I have seen a wild newt . How very strange to find a newt so high up , but I swear we saw it !
Fair play to Claire !
Brilliant video. Such great editing and cinematography. Can’t wait for the next instalment. Peace and love 👏🙏❤️
Thanks so much John, peace & love :) ✌
My son and I stumbled across your channel and been watching it all morning. You're amazing have big balls, admirable.
Great upload, looks like you had a great day 😁😁 looking forward to the next upload.
What a voice,What a Woman and as pretty as a picture.Happy New year Mrs Beare to you and your family.👍
Part 1 outstanding👍 Can’t wait for Part 2, Well done you!
It must be amazing to hike such historical places . I pray for your safety camping alone. Youre living a life most can only dream of.
absolutely stunning, great camera work Claire, you look right at home
Oh my god what a lovely trip and a fantastic trip to watch xxxx Matt & Lorraine
Wild! C: that's one of ur best so far, happy place, ' land of my fathers', rugged beauty of Cymru
Ive seen recent and this earlier video.
Simply? Captivating! What you chose to stop, do a still photo absolutely splendid! Teaching as you go this 'fan' is very appreciative. Thank you
Good on you, live the dream and enjoy it all
Quite a video, that - the footage and the soundtrack are frankly spectacular. Been watching your stuff during my long recovery from a life-threatening condition - pretty much "there" now. Thank you SO much for keeping me in touch with this sort of thing along the way. As I sip my coffee in my camping hammock before I go to sleep, I make a quiet toast to you.
Snowdonia is my most favourite place, it's stunning!
These mountains are amazing and so beautiful
That is certainly some wild and desolate countryside, I'm surprised you found somewhere to camp but you looked to be in your element so good on you.
Thankyou so much for taking us along on your journey : ) Stunning views...
Wow brilliant video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍can’t wait for the next one. You should be on tv. I’d Watch because you show all the great stuff like the stone and what’s around you that most people just walk by. Thank Claire. Happy camping 🏕 👍👍👍👍👍💐💐💐💐💐
I once found a clear, dry spot between fach and fawr! Great video, brought back memories. Cheers
Your production, editing, filming and presentation is really good. 👍🙂
The reality is, especially being a woman is that your are safer in the wilds of Wales than 100m from your own front door in a town or city. Well done for braving it though as it does take a bit of a nerve to go feral for a few days. I make my own MRE type daypacks for food using dehydrated food and a vacumn sealer. I copy items simialr to the army packs but in dry form. Multi day camps in the wilds you need to cut down food weight and rely on the water around you just like you did. Great video & great location.
Very well done Claire. So glad you had such a happy time. Atta girl xxxx
Music was lovely too.
Have too agree that trekking poles would have helped you enormously, and made your walk more pleasurable.
Vidéo géniale..Fantastique 🤩💪
Fantastic Video Claire, great Friday night viewing.. only problem I have now is waiting for part 2.
Looking forward to it. 👍🙂
Wales is beautiful, i learnt to drive there , so am pretty good at hill starts ;)
Good morning x 😊 well what a truly lovely video you are really an inspiration to us all xxx I think we all need to get out off are comfort zone more it's a amazing feeling when you have faced a challenge and smashed it xxx
Truly stunning as always your just lovely xxxx stay safe xxx
Another brilliant ! Cool! Fantastic and beautiful video ...
Hiked and wild camped here numerous times. The Rhinogs are the wildest, roughest of the Snowdon ranges, although not a high range, are more difficult to cross without lots of scrambling. Trails are not always very evident either, also lots of wild goats roaming everywhere. A great more remote challenge makes for exciting days, enjoy.
Absolutely lovely
Beautiful scenery,
All the colors in the landscape is just perfect
Fascinating scenery. TY for bringing us along.
Nice presentation. I’ve climbed that mountain twice. Its a beauty and nearly always empty of people which makes it even better.
Absolutely outstanding 👏 This is what life is all about. Thank you so much for bringing abit of heaven to my front room ❤. Can't wait for part 2. I am so glad beyond belief I found your channel. Thank you
Aw thank you so much for watching, glad you enjoy my wanderings :D
Such beautiful views,,,,thank you
Awesome, this place is special😊
Welcome to my local patch! So glad you had a great time 🙂👍
A wonderfully made film about an area that I had not previously heard of, which is strange because it's so beautiful. A hidden gem. It definitely has the feeling of a more remote wilderness though, which might put some people off venturing there alone. But trips like these are wonderful for the mind, heart and soul, and there is nothing like spending time in nature, in quiet solitude, with nothing to cloud one's thoughts, in complete self reliance. It puts things in perspective.
I love your videos I learn something new from each video
Thank you for taking us on this amazing journey. The scenery is amazing and very brave on your own.
stunning landscape! makes me pine for Donegal. enjoying your videos.
Loved watching this. The drone shots up the Roman stairs looked really good. Great editing too. Wales has been the start of many a great adventure of mine as an adult in the mountains & sea for 30 years. It’s weather can be stunning, like you experienced or rain lots of rain.lolz. Thanks for taking us on the trail with us. Bigupwales🏴
Looks nice. Well done. Good things come to those who search. Live for the day.
Stunning.
That's some stunning scenery Claire, happy days .
Your best video to date. Brilliant keeps your fans wanting more
Awesome video of wild Wales. Looking forward to the next one. ATB Grays
It reminds me so much of Donegal, especially the bog everywhere you try to step.
Fantastic adventure around North wales
Great video, looking forward to next one. Well done. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
A great video, I enjoyed every minute!
Wow that is epic well done you!!
I love the countyside, but I think it gets really spooky after dark, wouldn't stay overnight without my dog to watch over me! Kudos to you, nice trip
Hiya you would probably be safer there ,than walking though any city centre late at night good luck !
When I first started wild camping I had my dog with me, it was weird at first being without him but I'm used to it now. There's not really much that can hurt you, my only fears are bad humans, but as someone already said they mostly do their thing in towns & cities. Hope you get to try it one day, tis good for the soul :)
@@WildBeare I think you are exactly right here.
Now to be clear, things MIGHT be seen as being a little different for me, because I'm an exceptionally big guy. I'm 6ft 8, so I tend not to be picked on for that reason alone.
But even so, I've been keeping a bushcraft shelter for almost a year in our local woodland, which is part of the Wyre Forest in Worcestershire, UK. I live in a town (Stourport), and it takes me less than 30 mins to walk there.
So although it's off the beaten track, it's really not that far from people. And yet, since June last year, I've only seen one random person when there, and I'm fairly sure they didn't see me. By night, my shelter is virtually impossible to see from 10 yards away if the door is closed , or if I have no active light source .
So much so that if I get up to answer nature's call, I have to leave my reserve torch switched on, hanging from a tree outside so that I can find my way back.
At night, unless you have a fire burning, you disappear.
very much enjoyed this video, the scenery was very nice, love your drone footage, looking forward to the next video,
The Diddy drone camera is awwwwsome !!
I know maybe loads have said this, but all your viewers I know, appreciate the effort you put into your videos, especially the walk by's you do then have to come back and get your GoPro, phone or camera. Spectacular views so far I'm now gonna watch day 2. 👍
Love the drone shots.
Now that was awesome Claire! By far the best video I’ve seen for a long time, what an adventure 🏕
Your channel is flying, keep it up! 👏🏼👏🏼
Look forward to seeing part two
Have a great weekend
Ash x
Aw thanks Ash! Loved this trip so much ❤ hope you have a lovely weekend too x
Recently discovered and subscribed to your awesome channel. Catching up on your first 23 episodes. Keep up the great work!
Aw yay, thank you Colin hope you enjoy them :)
Great part one !
Croeso i'r mynyddoedd Rhinogydd, Claire 😊. You picked the most remote & wildest terrain in Eryri, coming from the Chilterns! I look directly to the Rhinogydd from my window on the Lleyn Peninsula about 18 miles away in a straight line. Great filming work. Little tip on pronunciation, if it helps: 'Du' sounds more like 'dee' and 'ddu' is more like 'thee'. 'Cwm' is pronounced 'coom' I won't try & explain how to pronounce 'llyn' as you have to hear it 😉 Looking forward to seeing the remaining parts. Cim ofal a cysgu da (take care & sleep well) 😊
All a learning curve 45 years I've been doin it and still learning trouble now the mind is still willing but my hips and back have different ideas
Thx for sharing this amazing adventure
Such stunning country! Thank you for taking us on your camp! :D
Another brilliant video, thanks x
that drone footage and epic music was awseome
