  • I had a great time trying out a local hill camp using my tarp. I absolutely loved sleeping under the stars and moon and the lovely fresh air, and learned the importance of a nice flat pitch and not jabbing stuff with sharp sticks, haha. I am just back from an EPIC 3 day mountain backpacking trip, stay tuned for those videos, they'll be up as soon as I've edited them :D
Thank you so much for watching 😊 Claire

Hi there. I'm just a total stranger on the internet but I urge you to look into treating cancer with cannabis oil, it has been proven to cure cancers (of course not a 100% success rate) but it greatly increased my Dads lifespan, he was too lazy with it unfortunately, such as drinking red wine (high in sugar and cancer feeds on sugar). Try learn everything you can about it, it's more than worth it. What have you got to lose?!

G’day Darwin, I know this bad chemo days all too well. I came across Joe Robinet a few years ago during a bad round of chemo that was following a round of radiation. Bushcraft and outdoor videos helped get me through those days. And now my brain tumor is growing again, so outdoor adventures mean even more once again. Best wishes to you.

ikr. The same issue in cycling. People incessantly talking about saving 10g per brake rotor, 30g per tyre and 100g per tent while being 15kg-20kg overweight. I do remote 3 day camps regularly on an electric mountain bike, and take a tent, ground sheet, tarp and rope for extra coverage, inflatable bedroll, sleeping bag, fold up chair, fold up table, cooking set, fishing rod and tackle kit, 60k mAh worth of power banks, a tablet and gopro, a UE Boom, and decent repair kit.
All my mates have these carbon fiber bikes with paper thin tyres, tents made of fly screen, take nothing with them, constantly complain about comfort and punctures yet still have the nerve to constantly talk about the few hundred grams i could have saved in gear, and how all the dead weight i bring with me is a burden while they fix their bike and tent with the tools i brought for the second time that day, using my table/stove to cook the food that i gave them, charging their phone on the power bank i provide and listening to music on my boom while we wait. All while they talk about how "they don't need any of the rubbish i bring, its way to hard on their body and takes away from the experience", and how much better the experience would have been if we spent another $300 on a tent that weighs 50g less, and had lighter tyres.

@@lucideuphoria7092 Delusion, unfortunately, is part of the human condition and some people revel in it. Your mates sound like idiots who successfully swallow their own bullshit, at their own expense. Group-think I'm afraid. What's worse is them availing of your conveniences while ironically entertaining their own confirmation biases. You just described most of the equipment I take on my own ebike camping/fishing trips and they all have their uses. Let those idiots fork out extra for a reduced experience and don't compensate them for their failures. Enjoy what you're doing.

So refreshing to see a TH-camr who doesn't take themselves too seriously and so obviously enjoys what they're doing. We've all had many fails before and it's all part of the fun and learning experience. One of mine was standing on a bed at home to reach the top of a wardrobe where my rucksack is stored. The wooden slats on the bed gave way and instead of spending a night in the Lake District under the stars, I spent a night in A&E with a broken toe! Looking forward to viewing many more of your future adventures!

Hi from Germany! For stealth camping l can recomend a tarp in camoflage. Like your british army BASHA. It is very durable (even as a stetcher for emergencys, or also as a hammock type thing for fun) and comes in three different versions of camo - DPM, MTP and Desert DPM. These tarps aren´t expensive and worth it.
l like your videos, watched nearly all so far, and l am subscribed for more!

Claire, you have the best attitude. I believe the difference between disaster and adventure is attitude, and you rip your tarp, slip down the hill, and confront a twilight move with a laugh and a smile and genuine delight. So many could learn much from your attitude. I have to say I look forward to each of your videos, knowing they will be buoyant with positivity and filled with incredible natural beauty keenly observed through your lens. Another good video - and hats off, April was sunny but with a biting wind and cold in the evenings/mornings.
Plus a tip for the Tenacious Tape: if you're cutting a piece from the roll (always try and get the roll that comes in a tube - like a big plastic bolt) then round off the corners if you have scissors or snick the corners off (before you remove the backing paper) so it's lozenge shaped. Even less likely to catch the corner and cause it to peel away. Plus, for thin fabrics, a patch on both sides especially if you didn't get a chance to clean it before repair.
If you'd had a rope with you could have belayed around the tree trunk and then slipped a bowline around your body under your armpits. Wouldn't have gotten any sleep but you wouldn't have slid down the hill either ;o)

I used to do a lot of backpacking in my teens and twenties (forty years ago). I didn't have a single occasion where I slid down a hill in my bed.
Four or five maybe, but not one. None of mine were as funny as yours.😂
Now that I'm retired I think I'm going to get back on the trail thanks to you and your friend homemade wanderlust.

Mooorning, just cracks me up every time Claire. I'm loving watching you grow and having fun during your real life escapades. At this rate it won't take you long to climb up the learning curve as a very accomplished female outdoor adventurer.

Great views off the hill there. Slept under a tarp for years, best way if the weathers reasonable

Thank you so much for the great lists you put above, in the description section. You would love being here in Arizona. No need for a tarp; the stars or moon are on full display. No mosquitoes, and so easy to get away from people. I love it here!! It is so nice to find people who love sleeping outdoors as much as I do!

Shouldve eaten something to make you belch, the thrust generated by your belching would have pushed you back in to your doss bag 🤔

Most of the campers on u tube that I’ve looked at always wake up in a really off state. And they would say didn’t really sleep that well. But you were really beaming like you were in a 5 star hotel. I think you’re a naturally happy person and that’s why you sleep well. Clearing your head of all the ups and downs of life before you sleep is how everyone should sleep. But easily said then done I guess.

Great video only thing missing is a puppy companion, lol. But I do have a couple suggestions...
    1. A camo tarp to break up outline and make it harder to spot you.
    2. Set up tarp perpendicular to slope instead of parallel to it. It won't stop sliding but will lessen it.
    3. Use a low tarp tent configuration instead of the plow point. Gives more location options and is more stealthy. Long flat surfaces are much easier to spot than shorter more curved shapes are.
    4. Setup up between trees/shurbs for better stealth instead of in open sight. Let the terrain help hide you.
Congrats your area has gorgeous view. Mine is much flatter but is very forested with many kinds flora. Lol I can't see as far as yours but there no end of things to look at up close.
