Going to a Greta concert it was so refreshing to see a mix of people of all ages at their shows. it’s great.
Went to one a couple months ago and it was incredible
I sat next to some of these elders at a GVF concert in Green Bay this summer.

I don’t think they are ripping off Led Zeppelin. The lead singer of Greta Van Fleet has an amazing voice. I’m a big Zeppelin fan in junior high & I have all their LP’s. I’m 68 & it makes me happy to hear younger group’s singing classic rock. 👏🏼👏🏼

And those who demand something original I don’t think realize that it’s not that simple because art is always influenced by another piece of art one way or another and it’s how you present yourself as an artist that makes it original and fresh.

GVF already is...I’ve never seen more older people excited about a young band.
They're huge, actually. In the last 10 years I haven't seen a band go from obscurity to full fledged recognition so quickly. I heard of the in like April last year and no one knew who they were...now Robert Plant brought them up in an interview within the last few days.
Check out Inhaler lol. They’re all 19-20 year olds but their audience is 90% 40+ year olds

GVF has definitely changed their sound and their latest album, The Battle at Gardens Gate, shows that. They are going to go far in their careers and I believe that we should have more bands that are bringing back rock as a genre. Yes, they did sound a lot like led zep, but they are not rip-offs. Even Led Zeppelin wasn’t completely original. So instead of bashing GVF, why don’t we all just appreciate the fact that rock is slowly being revived?
As long as their music keeps taking me on little adventures in my mind, I will always love them hahaha

Turns out, voices are allowed to sound similar and bands are allowed to build their own sound with influence from other bands. What a concept.
Difference is there's a strong hard line between similar and your own. Even led zeppelin had strong influence from the blues and jazz, even covered the same songs, but yet sounded different infused with upcoming metal that they helped start
But the real question here is... what do teens think about Greta Van Fleet?

Greta Van Fleet were certainly been influenced by Led Zeppelin and clearly many other Epic Legends , there is no fault in that . They have the talent to go far & I look forward to listening to them repeatedly ( I always have and probably always will with pretty much all the established rock legends) Greta Van Fleet should be able to join that elite stable pretty soon if not immediately after all they've done the rounds and are clearly good enough .

Just saw them at ACL and they were ridiculously good. The lead singer is damn mesmerizing performing. It sucks that great bands can't flourish or draw inspiration because nostalgia and couch critics will allow the past to forever haunt them. Honestly, man, this band is damn good and I'm glad we have something like them around. Enjoy it while it's here

7:58 Normally I would agree with Cat, and I don't completely disagree with her this time but they're not just riding on Led Zeppelin coat tails. How many kids these days listen to Led Zeppelin or even know about them if their parents arent into the band? They are not promoting or giving exposure to Led Zeppelin but rather the kind of music that Led Zeppelin produce, you just don't hear that kind of music nowadays and its good to keep it going because its awesome.

Erasmo Martinez Anything but cheap, a lot of arguements can be made that these kids are better muscians than zeppelin. Some of it has to do with clearer production. Yeah the embody zeppelin big time, but they are paying homage to zeppelin while adding their own flair. Weve had access to the same zeppelin records for half a century, and plant isnt sounding decent these days so if these guys wanna carry the torch, fine by me. Van Halen got compared to Cactus and Hendrix constantly in early review articles but they broke molds. Give these boys some time and respect the tremendous talent they have
