    Hi Kalpana, can I clarify, I must first leave the deseeded tamarind in the sun for two days before I make balls with salt? Thank you 🌻☀️

      It gives longer shelf life to the tamarind. I store my tamarind for 2 years.

    I have heard that tamarind is good for cleaning things like silver and brass. How would I use it to do that?

    • @kalpanatalpade
      @kalpanatalpade  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my childhood, my mom used to clean her iron kitchen vessels with tamarind. Just take a handful of tamarind & scrub it on the vessel.

      Yes, as kids we loved to eat roasted tamarind seeds! They were easily available in shops selling chana singdanas.

    What if we do not peel and keep it as is?

    • @kalpanatalpade
      @kalpanatalpade  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you do not peel the tamarind, you will not be able to discard the seeds. The seeds catch insects as shown in my video. You can preserve the seeds by roasting them, but again you will have to peel the tamarind.

      If you have noticed, only my right hand can be seen in the video. My left hand was holding the camera. I did not have a camera stand 7 years back. And to reseed the tamarind, just apply slits on the tamarind & remove the seeds. Thanks for your feedback.
