Just to clarify, Stinger missiles have an unlimited range on the altitude axis, so even if you're flying at the maximum altitude, they can still lock onto you and take you down.

Oof that just discouraged me from installing again thank you. I also didn't like jdams being lockon. Dislike lockons in general they ruined planetside 2 for me.

The lack of flares hurts it so much. Air superiority with people all running rader missiles and heat seekers makes you get smashed over and over
I think it was meant to be a CAS vehicle, much like an A-10 warthog.

Dice made sure to destroy the game's skill ceiling with lock on spam and 20 different explosives to spam on every single specialist - for "accessibility" reasons. Radar missiles are an abomination, literally meant to even the odds for less skilled players who can't even use lock-ons correctly - lowest of the low. It's unfortunate, so much potential, but an incredibly frustrating game even after 2+ years of fixing.

It’s easier to go into conquest co-op and unlock everything there. Just don’t crash or you’ll bug out and won’t be able to fly again. Rockets with jdam are a one strafe vehicle killer if you hit your shots. Use the radar jammer as you get close to the battlefield. Then use the cloak while you escape. Everything should rearm before making another pass. Fly high when you do it for the best results. The jdam will have time to lock on to a vehicle. Plus you can engage the vehicle with rockets before the jdam hits. For a sure kill if you hit your rocket shots and the jdam locks on. Vulnerable to a good jet pilot and spamming AA.
This doesn't make it better against stinger spammers and the funniest thing is that you explain this as it was fun.
Its not fun playing this bs vehicle after a certain amount of time all people will use stingers to fuck you up cause you Can't dodge infantry missles.
This vehicle is a joke a bad one... it could have been a skillfull vehicle but no sir. Dice made a coffin for flying gg...

Why is this game so stupid and badly balanced.
Imagine you hop into the draugr and play it for the first time and you get shot down all the time because all enemys are using stingers.
Cloaking and hopeing doesn't work you get hit once and you have to stay 1min out of battle because the repair is so slow...
U decide to heal up and after you go back to battle there are now 2 stingers good bye...
Can't say i'm positive about it because its bs its bad it sucks.
Dice is out of touch so much...
All i wanted was a BF3/4 styled game but i think the next life service game will be bad too so I QUIT BATTLEFIELD AS A WHOLE

@@sammathis6634 go to co-op don't crash bc your camera is stuck under the map for the rest of the round.
Just do strafe runs with 20mm cannon and thermal pick one or 2 a.i's off the ground do it all over.
Don't think about nnemp bomb its useless and has no real purpose other then look cool in trailers.
Do that as long as it needs and after 20 rounds or so, then you finally get the weapons you actually need/want.
But my idea is leave the draugr out and play a jet its better and you have flares lol.
i got camera bug everytime if i crashed my draugr into the ground. the bug makes my camera move under the map anytime i hop on any vehicles, even lis rocket
XD yes i get this too and have to exit the lobby and re-enter

How can i grind with this, i kinda find it hard getting 240 kills to get a upgrade for the secondary weapons, EMP is trash.

It was quite fun flying around in the new jet. Although the entire time I was in this thing I was wondering why the hell we didn't get an attack jet in the end.

as someone whos struggled so hard to farm for this bombers perks, I would recommend to spam it in the Air Supremacy mode. Much easier there tbh especially if youre good in dogfighting
This thing is a cross between Bf4 and Bf1's attack planes and I'm ecstatic to see it back
I remember in BF4 that when u switched to the JDAM on attack jets it would put u in like an extremely small version of the minimap and crosshair to help but everything was down to the flight path and angle of the jet itself, kinda crazy u get a live targetting pod and the jdam guides it self onto armor
Having to use the mfd felt better tbh
So the ground radar is similar to the detecting scope in heavy bombers in bf1.. much needed honestly

I'm not entirely sure (I haven't played in weeks), but could it be that DICE has secretly increased the deployment time of all vehicles?
this feels like a hibrid between bf4 and bf5 loudouts, especially with the non guided bombs and HE cannons
the bombs for DRAUGR and steath heli have same reticle for pinpointing showing you the area where it will land and the flight path of the bombs via dotted lines. use this. but you will need to play around and abuse obstructions, hiding in the sun (with the cloak) to avoid infantry lockons. you HAVE to abuse below radar off cd of the jammer.
the drone itself is nice and hard to hit horizontally and if you fish tail / shark fin through the air with a tilt (wing tip pointing at ground) it makes swimming in the air vs ntw/snipers harder to hit u. you have to be careful turning too hard to expose top/belly of it or it lines you up for more surface area to be hit.

I believe it needs some sort of missile countermeasure or most players are not going to use it.
Simply having the stealth double or triple the amount of time it takes to get a lock on the dragur would make it play in a much better state.
My exact thoughts, make it harder to lock on to the thing. And if it becomes op as a result just increase cooldowns on bombs and countermeasures @@mikeyplayz8438
How do the fighter jets do now? I don't have a worthwhile connection till next weekend and the yaw buff should have made the jets far more effective against helicopters is that right?
Fighter jet is way better than the bomber in so regards tbh, even in bombing imo

AGM on Draugr actually does like 80 damage (for tank) if fired on SOFLAM-marked target
maybe this stealth jet will force people to use other operators besides LIS more. idk about other people but as an attack heli pilot, im not a fan of the helicopter nerfs. as much as i know that they are strong, the amount of LIS missiles that starts flying at me is uncountable. sure the Heli is strong but u get to go into combat against half the lobby going LIS. vehicle are only strong i say because new battlefield players don't focus vehicles but anyone with a good amount of hours will do. the nerfs to vehicle that ALREADY exist is that you have to WAIT until you can get another one, not like infantry where you hold space bar and come back again anytime you want. that said i still get how frustrating it is to deal with vehicle from infantry standpoint. some games u completely take over on vehicles, other games you immediately get locked on to or having to dodge LIS missiles the moment you show up on the battlefield.

fun fact: The jdam can also be used as a glide bomb against Wildcat users. even if they use APS or Thermal flares they will still take damage
I have been trying to do solo missions so I can unlock all the load out for the new bomber but every time I do I end up looking at the horizon from under water and I can’t control it so I end up having to eject or in this case self destruct because you can just jump out and parachute down.
Yeah that's a bug atm, it happens if you crash into the ground and then respawn.
In a game I played just yesterday (it was on the Caspian Border map), the same infanty player shot me twice with a Stinger at an altitude of 700 and 800 meters. I don't understand whether this was a BUG or how long Stingers have been able to do this, but if you bought this Jet, you have no chance of escaping for a long time under any circumstances. If we only have Jammer, then in order to survive, we will have to constantly travel at altitudes of 900 meters and use Jammer every time it is renewed. In this case, I'm not even counting EBAAs or Stinger-wielding enemy Jets. If even an infantry can lock onto you with a Stinger at an altitude of 700-800 meters, I think this Jet has no sense of humor.

You can EMP and bomb vehicles from across the map if you line it up properly. They’re pretty accurate. Reminds me of the accuracy of the Mosquito from Battlefield V. The Kerosene bomb seems to have more effect on infantry, it seems to have more splash damage.
Yeah the Kerosene bomb has a lot more splash for infantry, the problem with the EMP bomb is that most smart targets are going to move :P

Theres another very annoying bug you didnt touch on, your bombing crosshair goes away frequently if you have the bomb selected when turning, it also happens when you go to far outside of the map

the emp does 45-55 damage on direct impact not 30, it also bypasses vehicle aps
the agm can work as a kerosene and a jdam bomb (in the sense that the blast is huge and does 2.5x more damage) when there’s a soflam involved like the javelin (but there’s a 0% chance someone actually does that)
Right. But you need to lock onto something with the AGM and rely somewhat on soflams for it to be worth it I think. Good shout on the ECM bomb though, I wasn't aware it could hit for so much damage, I always thought I blew up some C5 or something by coincidence.

They do the same thing to the BOLTE. Get hit by the most minimal damage and lose all mobility. I don't know if its a bug or if it's intended to level the battlefield for how powerful it can be in the right hands.
It needs some sort of AA countermeasure. Even if that's just the temporary stealth mode preventing a lock on while the ability is active. Its way too easy for someone to lock you and get off a pair of missiles before you can put something in the way.
I still cant get over how they couldn't even bother to put this in at Season 7s release.
I barely cant play with Draugr except when the match starts and you spawn the first time. After that the cam gets stuck under the map, inside a mountain etc. while flying. Anyone else got this experience?

Conquest only but if you don't want to get annoyed by wildcats play on Spearhead because the AI never use the Wildcats for some reason on that map.

As long as it is unable to counter stinger missiles, it will remaine the weakest air vehicle in the game. The damage ist good, but what do i care about damage when survivability is 0? Game designers at dice smoking crack yet again. On a positive note: This was the last content patch.

Well, the kerosin bomb is a blast.
Too bad the vehicle bug still exists in coop mode where the camera gets screwed up. Tried to use it the other night and after one death I couldn't fly again as all the vehicles were bugged again. Even Liz' missile.
Flight ceiling? I can be stalling at max hight and still get locked by AA or a wildcat.
I'm such a bad pilot but I'm trying ro learn so rhat i can use this badass looking bomber.
Honestly between the amount of maps that this vehicle is available on and the requirements to unlock the decent loadout to run this bomber. just kills all the appeal for me to even try this tbh. leave it to dice to hype up something thats low key kinda garbage unless you straight up go in just to play this vehicle and pray you get a map to be able to use it.
Imagine drip feeding half of the update and then locking the update content behind a ridiculous grind. Shameless.

I hate to correct you, but what you said about ECM in Battlefield 4 is completely wrong. In the earlier days of the game's life cycle, ECM did indeed work like that. You'd have to use it before the missile was fired, or you'd get hit anyways. However, after an update, ECM now worked like flares, allowing you to ward off incoming missiles by using ECM even after the missile was fired. ECM more or less completely replaced flares and all the pro pilots use it. Source: a little over 3000 hours played on Battlefield 4 since 2015.

You just drop them from high up enough and they auto-lock
it's good it's countered by stinger. But maybe have it lock on at a reduced range.
This thing is essentially a free kill. I have watched a couple of videos and the gameplay with this thing is to kill a couple of newbies, get someone salty and fly around at the map border before being killed. Glad I am not playing this.
The interesting part is that it's a drone so if you want to eject from it, it will self destruct. Though it really should have countermeasures.

I’m having a ton of trouble trying to unlock all of the weapons for this thing because of how trash the nnemp bomb is at killing infantry and vehicles. Is there a fast way to do this because this honestly sucks due to the amount of kills I need to get to unlock this crap

I thought my WC was being one shotted by JDAM's but I guess its possible it was a combo of cannons and JDAM, either way is a one pass strafe to destroy a WC and you don't hear it coming. Basically just another Sundance with C5, before you know it your gone in a 1/10 of a second and you don't even know what hit you.

i just hate the fact that the jammer is on g, i cant count how many times i scanned for vehicles instead of using countermeasures, and died right after.
Meanwhile ground vehicles get thermal smoke and trophy system, dice really hate jets in this game

My take on the plane is that it's hot garbage I mean yes you have to get lucky to get a better to do more damage with the bombs it just doesn't seem like they hit hard and by the way the air to ground missiles you only get one like wtf dice they stay releasing garbage on this game I'd rather them release it op asf first then nerf and buff shit on it

Uh it's not stuck behind a gamemode because where the ribbons are it says "Ribbons earned by playing any official mode will progress towards the unlocks" or something like that, i got my XFAD-4 unlocked alongside the Strife LMG by doing Solo/Coop.

Literally useless vehicle considering the ECM jammer needs like 400+ kills. Every unluck is ungodly high kill count needed with something that had 0 defence against a neta of lis and AA spam.

What do you mean? All this new jet did was encourage every infantry player to use an AA missile. The infantry is going to kill the jet more than the other way around lol
