Quick story about me and my experience with AFI for no reason really. When I was younger I was in a really really bad place. For a while I'd thought about killing myself. One night I'm at a friends apartment and these two punk rock kids that lived below her came up to hangout. Sing the Sorrow by AFI had dropped that day and they picked up on their way home. I knew who AFI were but I never really heard any of their songs so me and these two kids listen to the whole album together for the first time. We were all blown away. That album made me realize that Davey saw the beauty in tragedy and it really made me feel better. We listened to that album over and over for the rest of the night. Probably like 6 hours or so. The next day I went out and got the album and listened to it every night for months.... and I didn't want to die anymore. AFI basically saved my life.
Alex, I REALLY enjoy watching you experience music from when I was 16. Your reactions seriously make me feel like I'm hearing it again for the first time. Love your My Chem Videos and AFI, keep checking them out, they are top tier!!

Also they're a punk band
They are thought they were inspired by visual kei by looks alone
@@asuraXTC I think the inspiration Davey had during the Decemberundreground era was mostly inspired by glam rock like David Bowie. I love me some visual kei though, usually the darker heavy side of it.
Also a funny side note, AFI fucking hates the song Miss Murder lol
there's a whole generation of people who think AFI came out in the early 2000s lol
Since everyone is saying "since we're going back to this" then let's go, Hawthorne Heights, "This is who we are".
If you like this one check out Days of the Pheonix, A Single Second and Kill Caustic
Damn a single second that brings me back lol
Death of Seasons
Days of the Phoenix was my introduction to AFI and I was sold ever since.
Dancing Through Sunday, Medicate and Beautiful Thieves are fantastic songs by them! Grew up listening to AFI during their emo era. Still love them!
I haven't listened to AFI in years.
Boy Who Destroyed the World is still one of my favorites from their earlier years.
Dancing Through Sunday is another favorite. The guitar still gets me hyped to this day.
Love you content Alex, keep it up.
I can't believe you haven't reacted to any My Chemical Romance yet
Update: oh, you just did
They started in 92' I think n every single one of their albums started a new genre cuz they're afi lol
Sounds about right...🤔🌶💯✔🍻
Reacto to "SILVER AND COLD - AFI" or "THE LEAVING SONG pt2 - AFI"
Ugh, Silver and Cold is my first AFI song, and it's still one of my favorite songs.
@@Fightingforthelost probably one of my favorite ever....
Dude your face when the intro ended and they really started playing Miss Murder was priceless! This was one of my favorite songs back in high school when it came out. I'm really glad you liked it because they're a pretty damn good band.
ugh I love AFI so much. More More More
React to: Him - Wings of a butterfly
Ngl, the band is cringy as all hell but I dig em 😂
Fucking love that band
Collin Putney HAHAHA same man 😂
Blas Julián Santillán me 2 pal
Great song
When is Alex going to become a member of the "Black Parade." Are really Emo if you haven't listened to My Chemical Romance?
Guess I wasnt an emo then.. not a fan of MCR.
@@xMissEerie never really was either they just pop up from time to time on my Spotify I don't skip em but I don't exactly go looking for them either, it's the same with AFI and almost any of the "emo" rock I'm more into the type of metal where you get whiplash from head banging (Bury Tomorrow, While She Sleeps, Fit For A King and Beartooth are my top bands). imo MCR is the type of band you hold lighters out for or just sway side to side...
@@tyranttyrant8035 i love wss man! good to see they are getting the recognition they deserve in the community finally be on their shit since seven hills and they are the coolest dudes live lot of interaction with the fans like matt shredding in the middle of circle pits, calling walls of death, going out shaking hand, hugging people during their songs, inviting alot of ppl on stage or to grab a beer with them after the show i dont understand how sean shreds changes up his flow and style almost every song
AFI are an amazing band! They seem to have been somewhat forgotten in recent years, which is kinda sad.
AFI man... Started as a scrappy punk band, got more hardcore, moved into horror punk / gothic rock. I've never really thought of them as an "emo" band but I think it's really hard for me to define them as anything other than just RAD.
Favourite band when I was growing up, and now nearly 20 years later I still absolutely love them.
That brought back memories. I seen them live and he can scream like a beast.
Was NEVER an emo fan, but the green screen of other reactors was pure class.
😂🤣 thought I’d have a little fun with it!
react to The Used - The Taste of Ink
You should react to Chiodos - the word “best friend” becomes redefined
This!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🔥🔥🔥
Good choice, especially if he's never heard them.
The entire Bone Palace Ballet album is amazing, and probably their best in my opinion.
Holy shit, I haven't heard that band name in a looooong time.
I still bump this in all my playlists. The prelude is one of my favorite tracks in this whole world
I saw this band play this song on the 2006 MTV AWARDS i never heard of them but this song and their performance was so awesome i never forgot it it's still the only song i know by them and yeah it's a catchy tune but the lyrics are very meaningful
Avenged sevenfold :
Second heartbeat live LBC
Critical acclaim live LBC
Scream live LBC
Unholy confessions live LBC
God hates us live rock am ring 2011
Everything in the LBC is better.
Scream live lbc is a must watch! I’d put that at the top of the list in terms of which one should be done for a reaction!
Alex u don’t even kno...”days of the Phoenix” “silver and cold” “this time imperfect” “ever and a day” “ the leaving song part 2” and so many more
Alex, I REALLY enjoy watching you experience music from when I was 16. Your reactions seriously make me feel like I'm hearing it again for the first time. Love your My Chem Videos and AFI, keep checking them out, they are top tier!!
As they are still my #1 band since Miss Murder dropped, I can positively say "It's not a phase, Mom!"
Thrilled to see AFI here even if it’s the worst representation of them. I’d love to see...almost anything else of theirs
I'd take this over the entirety of Crash Love tbh
Carmalarms I Loooove Crash although it took a while to get to that point. Black Sails, AOD and Sing the Sorrow are their high point though. I’d like to see a reaction to anything from that era in particular
I remember them doing punk. The boy who destroyed the world was my jam as a kid. Especially on Tony hawks Pro skater 3
insertgenericusernamehere oh for sure, me too. I remember them back in the 90s and miss those punk days, but regardless I love all incarnations of them. By far my favorite for 20+ years
I used to love their 1950s comic book art on their album covers.
