Thank You! I love that she loves to learn... and actually wants to do this. That makes it easier for me to have fun with teaching and also have a great helper. If she wasn't willing to learn and put in the effort, this whole experience would not be the same for me. I am using this TH-cam platform not to just document this experience of building a ranch from scratch for other to enjoy and learn from, but also for my own daughter and hopefully her children and generations to come, to be able to go back and see what we built with our own hands and hopefully also learn from. Passing down the skills and knowledge in video.
Your building looks great but the quality time with your Daughter in Amazing. Spend quality time with your children and make them feel loved, wanted, worthy and build their self-esteem up so they go out into the world with confidence! Cheers!!
Thanks! My favorite part of this whole project is building it as a family... and the fact that my daughter "wants" to do this. She loves to build and create with her own hands and learn and then teach others. It is so fun.
Good dad's do this, and after a few year's of your child being on her own will say THANK YOU DAD because of you I don't need to depend on anyone. It's a good skill to have under your belt.. thumbs 👍 to both
Props for teaching/allowing your daughter to participate and learn to build stuff! These are very valuable skills that will give her confidence later in life! AWESOME!
Dang, that girls got more upper body and arm strength than a lot of adult men...You go girl! Makes me think back to when my Dad had my sister & I re roof our house when i was 12 & my sister was 14. Neither one of us were even 100lbs, but we did that roofing job with only minor help from our Dad occasionally..It was punishment for attempting to have a party when we thought our parent's were out for the night. Nope, they totally came home an hour after wed invited friends over, lesson learned ...We ended up having a blast regardless that Summer on our rooftop.
Impressed at the involvement of your kid there. She's doing a great job and you are too by taking the time she needs to catch on. She catches on fast. Amazing and skilled with a bright future in anything she puts her mind to.
I don’t ever comment on videos but this one warrants one for sure! Your student there with all due respect was impressive not to mention the patients you must have lol! Very nice work too sir building looks great!
Is there a treasure more rewarding than daughters? I think not. She started out just pulling the trigger and saying “I don’t like that” to literally one haded bump-firing And saying “oh yeah”. 😂😂😂 I do these projects with my three daughters as well. Good job dad!
Just found your channel at a little over 315 describers. Digging it. Teaching your child these skills at this time is awesome. Looking forward to watching your progress!
I really like this build! I want to make one just like it for my 4 meter high loft-basement!!! Thank you very much for the video... I'm going to see how it's done!!!
Awesome. Thanks. I think passing down hands on knowledge to our children is becoming lost in this convenience focused and technology driven world, and I am personally using this TH-cam Channel to record what we are building with our own hands and a lot of hard work so she can share with her own kids some day. Happy to hear that you may be doing the same.
How did you secure your joists at the wall where you put the ledgers? I have a pole barn with 6x6s 8' on center and am trying to figure out how to attach a ledger. Didnt really want to build a wall but I may not have a choice.
I've done a few like that and the best way is to use an engineered beam (LVL) that spans across the posts, with any joint landing on the centre of post. Once its nailed in place, use some 5/16 GRK screws to screw it to posts. I try to get a minimum 5 per post or 6 were there's a join. Screws should be long enough to go at least 3" into post. Heavy nailing, screwing a 2' block on each post underneath the beam will give even better strength.
16ft high in the main area between the lofts. Standard 8 ft ceilings downstairs, but only 7 ft tall in the lofts as the subfloor, flooring and downstairs ceiling drywall take up the other foot.
I was cringing watching that young girl operating the circular saw with her long hair hanging down close to the blade. She should tie her hair up next time.
okay my friend very nice work ,and proper skills and integerityof your work ,but I have to say you seem to be very experienced and that is why im sayin this and the only reason im even going to go here is the fact that you obiviously love your daughter no question .so whydont you look out for her safety also , I see you stay out of the way of the nail gun ,but you shot the gun in her direction so many times . have you never seen what a nail does when it hits a knot in the timbers or any thing to cause the misfire direction of a object coming out of the nail gun and that's not the only thing when she is cutting with the saw she has the rite idea but how about if she moves just a little to quick and the wrong way ,is she going to know what todo if her hair gets caught up in her saw . plz just take a little time and expect the unexpected so maybe all your projects can be successful and everyone go home that day safe and in one piece . thanks again and I really did enjoy your knowledge and professionalism but maybe try to teach proper safrty before it teaches you in not a nice favorable way !!!!!!
Great job building this and especially teaching your children. She will appreciate what she has knowing she helped..

That girl is going to be a framer one day! I'm sure you're a super proud Dad. Awesome project, keep up the great content!!
I agree the next Jo Anne Liebler😄
Awww nothing like your kids supporting you when they’re young.
Good dad's do this, and after a few year's of your child being on her own will say THANK YOU DAD because of you I don't need to depend on anyone. It's a good skill to have under your belt.. thumbs 👍 to both
It is AWESOME that you build WITH your daughter. These are memories that you both will share for the rest of your lives!
How awesome is this! Great job showing your daughter these skills! Your teaching ability, patience and positive reinforcement really shine!
Thanks! I am super lucky that she actually likes doing this. It wouldn't be the same if she didn't want to do it. I fell very blessed.
Props for teaching/allowing your daughter to participate and learn to build stuff! These are very valuable skills that will give her confidence later in life! AWESOME!
Thanks. I am very thankful that she is interested in learning and more importantly, doing.
Thanks for watching

It/s AWESOME for letting daughter do some👍👍👍

Already clicked like and then I saw you and your daughter rocking this build together. Now I wish there was a LOVE IT button!
Father of the Year🏆🏆
Makayla is a better helper than a lot of grown men I've worked with. Seriously amazed she can one hand operate that nailer so well.
I was gonna say the same thing!
Impressed at the involvement of your kid there. She's doing a great job and you are too by taking the time she needs to catch on. She catches on fast. Amazing and skilled with a bright future in anything she puts her mind to.
Thank you. She is a special kid with a lot of talents.
Watching this is like being on a rollercoaster
This daughter is every fathers dream. Well done Madame.

Is there a treasure more rewarding than daughters?
I think not.
She started out just pulling the trigger and saying “I don’t like that” to literally one haded bump-firing
And saying “oh yeah”.

Good job dad!
Amazing job ❤

The best part of teaching her these things is that she wants to be here and wants to learn. That makes it a lot more fun for me. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, great job. The nail gun use with the kid pointing towards your direction and vice versa appeared to me as a dangerous manoeuvre.
I really like this build! I want to make one just like it for my 4 meter high loft-basement!!! Thank you very much for the video... I'm going to see how it's done!!!
great effort both of you
Looking good . It’s awesome teaching your daughter to do such things and work . I have a 5 and 7 yr old I do the same with . Keep up the good work.

That’s alsome, tough kid, great job
I might be a little late in asking this … but does anyone know if he has video of how he did the big post … in the corners and along the wall
Suspense was killing me. I totally thought you were gonna get your fingers a couple times on that nail gun lol
How high do your ceilings have to be to build a loft? And wow so impressed with you little girl skills shes such a great helper!
Looks solid.!!
That 16 foot span made me a little nervous at first, but now that it is done, it is solid. Not a squeak, not a wobble in it.
Good job dad, Michela going to be great
Good job I like it when you working with your daughter I will love to do the same she is good
What are the loft dimensions? I am about to start a 16x28 loft. I plan on doing some very similar framing.
That's awesome dude! I'm doing the same thing!
Thanks. It has been a lot of fun. Good luck with your project.
I appreciated this son inspiration!!
What are the dimensions of the loft bedrooms? Im looking to build a 16x16 bedroom with an attached 8x4 bathroom and 8x4 closet.
Can a loft be built with 12ft walls 16ft peak?
I’m looking for a 20x20 16 Black Metal Building
How do I keep getting unsubscribed from different TH-cam channels ain't no wonder I haven't gotten notifications in a while

Awesome build !.. What are the dimensions of your bldg? I'm looking at a 30x50x16 pole barn do do the same with.
Thanks. It is a 40x60x16.

Ah 2019 . . . when a 2x4-8 wasn't $12.00
Damn that girl is more capable than most grown men I know. You're raising her right.
You ran the string line wrong. You should of ran it from the top plate on the top edge.
Nothing is every exactly square
I was cringing watching that young girl operating the circular saw with her long hair hanging down close to the blade. She should tie her hair up next time.

Standing in the line of fire of the nail gun is an accident waiting to happen.
that first cut looked sketchy :) hair was close, maybe a ponytail or something
Sir, don’t let your princess cut wood with hair loose, could get caught by the blade, she bend way too close to the blade
Kind of scared me with the young girl looking down cutting , with her hair close to cutting. Rubber band it up …so close 😮
wish you wouldve left out the music
No offense dad @
From Scratch Ranch , but that girl needs to have her hair tied back into a ponytail or a bun for safety reasons.
WHAT SORT OF IDIOT WOULD LET A KID USE A POWER SAW. Even experienced tradesmen have accidents with potentially DANGEROUS tools. /
Cool video other than the music sucks.still a thumbs up.
