Stuff like this is why i love rain world so much. I knew the lizards have their own complex AI like every other critter but I didn't realize the lizards postured at each other and had "phases" to their fights like this! SO COOL, i could watch videos like this for ages.

i wonder how rivalry works between species, for example orange lizards will usually never fight with each other under any circumstance but would they fight with a pink lizard if the pink starts it?
Almost all lizards have a stat called “aggressiverival” which decides how aggressive they will be to a creature. Lizards like reds have this stat MAXED out when it comes to their own kind. Yellow lizards are the only species with no Inter-species rivalry (tamed yellows might be an exception).
The orange lizards are like herds, they have a leader and several lizards that follow him, likewise they can communicate with each other easily, they work together for food, while the other lizards, they are extremely territorial and will fight any species that steals their food or territory

I've stumbled upon two fighting during a playthrough and decided to wait it out until they move. Well, one moved in the end, after murdering another. They are vicious! Your vids are great btw!

That reddish one seems like it has some Green liz strength. Looked bigger than average, had the upper hand the entire fight somehow. Finished off the other one quickly too.

No they aren’t new. They’ve always been in the game but often people haven’t noticed it until Safari mode became a thing, since during regular playthroughs you as the player are more concerned by the rain timer and surivival.
Also a lot of the time, they'll stop fighting each other if they think they stand a good chance at biting you. Food is usually more important than fighting.
The blank room is actually a testing arena that I made myself. But you can get a mod on steam that has a pack of testing arenas. I spawn the creatures in using Dev Commands which is a separate mod and in the description it should have a link to a guide that'll tell you how to spawn specific creatures.
