i always think it's a good idea to make these videos in which all the scugs do some silly stuff but they take so long to make and my soul leaves my body

Seeing gourmand with muscles made me think, what if he's like a hippo where he looks fat on the surface, but actually has a really thin layer of fat and the majority of his bulk is pure muscle. Explains the triple spear damage

I love how they have subtly different designs!! Hunter is more angular than Survivor whereas Monk is more round! And Spearmaster is SO angular, almost alien- suits them well as a genetically modified weapon!
Also, when Spearmaster poses, ypu can see a somewhat visible ribcage, which fits the fact he's the lightest slugcat.

I have never played rainworld but somehow animations like this find their way into my recommended, and they’re always adorable, so obviously the game itself is going to be incredibly miserable and all these little guys probably die :(
only one of these guys die painfully. I won't spoil who, but only one does. And even then, it's possible, although very difficult, to save them.
Yes, the plot is very dark.
Spoilers below.
These guys are more or less messengers (even if they don't know it) between the gods of their world. The gods are trying to figure out how to die because death isn't possible in the setting, meerly resulting in waking up in a new cycle. The end of each character's story involves them going to the void at the bottom of the world and "ascending", freeing them of the cycles.
If you ever do play it, just know it's really hard.
The game is brutal, but also genuinely beautiful at times, and the world is amazing from a technical perspective. Some of the slugcats can achieve quite happy endings, and few of them have flat-out bad endings.
Also if you’re a sucker for lore like me you’ll love it.
PLAY RAINWORLD YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. Yeah its really hard and frustrating at first but you come to love it. And the community is REALLY good about helping new players
I absolutely love how stylized each slugcat is, gives them all a unique personality~

Unfortunately mine must always exist because my little hands are always occupied. Two spears before pearl removal, then sadly holding one spear and one pearl while screaming in pain and agony once it is removed. I’m gonna ask Seven Red Suns to give me more arms now, bye!

All 3 of these groups fit into categories.
- the 3 non-DLC scugs
(Self-explanatory)
- the moderately difficult scugs
(Gourmand takes a really long time and doesn’t enjoy green lizards, Artificer hates going through Metropolis, Rivulet can be a bit confusing to find where to go)
- the really really hard scugs
(Spearmaster isn’t as broken as you’d think and hates Waterfront Facility + pearl escort mission, Saint has no defenses whatsoever, Sofanthiel rolls a nat 1 every second of its existence)
And then there’s Watcher, who will exist in 3-5 business days

Looking through the lore, every scug is technically synthetic, originating from a Purposed Organism designed to clean pipes.
Spearmaster was purposed from them to act as a messenger, and the blueprints for the slugcat are visible when LttM is scanning Spears in their campaign.
