SS13 is incredibly addictive, and I think I know why. It's a mixture of novelty, since each round is drastically different, and the option to fulfill most of your cravings. For example, if you wanna be adventurous, you choose miner or RD. If you wanna experiment and do cool shit, most jobs can do that. If you just wanna do your job casually and roleplay, ya got so many different servers to choose from. If you wanna BEAT THE SHIT out of a clown, you can do that. Due to endless possibilities, and new and enjoyable experiences, SS13 is addictive and fun as fuck.

@@jakobfarr7941 it may be a matter of traffic I can't play at morning because the traffic makes the connection to the server slow At night my ping is stable (90ms to 120ms) At morning (300ms to 7000 ms)
Word on the street is that it was made by some indie royalty-free creator a long time ago. I guess someone in the SS13 community picked it up and the rest is history.

LLJK2 is the fast paced antag server, where rounds rarely last over an hour, everyone OOC ICs since RP is not enforced, and is good for a quick game for when you wanna kill or avoid death (good luck). Due to Goonstation's programmers, updates are constant. The graphics (compared to other servers) are pretty nice. The lighting is surprisingly smooth as well! Also, admins aren't abusive, so, there's that. Both servers have lots of silly shit, like clowns (standard ss13 stuff), farting, birbs, and other stuff. Also LLJK1 has a pretty good motives system, so, there's that! This is a very generic summary. Look more into it!

I hate how the SS13 community has this whole "secret club" mentality. But we gotta have others players feel the experience too. Imagine how many people out there would love to play a MMO space RPG with clowns slipping people to a portal to hell, but just don't know it exists.

It is, but honestly, most of servers of SS13 nowadays gone full ruleplay and not true roleplay.
That's why it's still got a strong fanbase after all those years. Hell, i've been playing for 2 years and I think i'll never get bored.
