Wanna cry was missed by sophos EP at the time, sophos intercept x picked it up though. Kaspersly product picked it up through a part in the solution called network attack blocker. Ransomware is not sophisticated and should be picked up at all times

Hi, I'm Sophos Partner and Reseller and this for a good reason, they do a good work and this in every area they focus on their job and don't try to be be fancy. If you go for the entire range of products, started with Endpoint Protection over SafeGuard Encryption to Mobile Protection and don't forget about Intercept X, you end up with a complete solution that is really nice to handle and thinks about every aspect including Data Loss Prevention and Patch Assessment. I have to agree that the prices that you have to pay to get the entire protection is higher than what you pay for regular products (like Bitdefender or Kaspersky,...) BUT Sophos beats them by far. By the way you were wondering in the Video that the files were still there even Wannacry managed to encrypt them. This is basically part of Sophos Clean, if a software tries to access a file, a copy of that file is kept in memory and Sophos keeps an eye on the behaviour of the process, if it tries to do suspicious steps, it blocks it and reverts the files from the fresh kept copy, so no files can be lost, even if the infection remains on the System and runs again and again as the process repeats. Now Intercept X got an update and has Deep Learning in it, I don't want to abuse of the Hosts channel so I don't post a link but if you are interessted simply google Intercept X Deep Learning and you will find it. I would like to see a battle between ALL the Anivirus and Malware applications but the winner of each round stays in the future rounds. and put all of them through some serious tuff paces & ringer. Go 5 at a time and the winner with the best detection stays for the next round to battle the 5 new contestants. So on and so forth until one stands victorious in the end. Because almost a year has passed by when this video was uploaded and anything can and could have changed between then and now. we are now in the middle of February of 2018. - I dont think people would mind a 30 to 60 minute video of a massive battle between each video showing a round of battles between anitvirus software's and malware software's. of course both in separate categories. Sorry if it confuses people of the ideas I have in mind and thinking about and trying to explain.

The biggest problems with Sophos Endpoints is they slow workstations down a lot. Basic 4GB Win10 systems are almost usable. What good is advanced security if end users cannot use the systems normally? Also the Sophos Endpoint components are constantly breaking. I've never seen an endpoint that is so willing to break parts of itself. And it's endpoint deployment and management server is terrible. But yes, the malware protection is quite good.
Sometimes companies fail when it comes to a few practical matters. I felt like trying Sophos Intercept X, but could neither download the trial or even see its price range on their page without first registering an account. I think this kind of crap is of some interest as well. They won't get my time of day.

Now, a question-- suppose we do not run Intercept X with web access active, for the sake of basic containment, in case something does not work "as advertised". To what extent, if any, do you believe Intercept detection and/or termination of threats would be affected? Have you tested Intercept without web access to determine that?
Good demo, but it still create the .WINCRY extension. Sol please as you are objectif in testing, don't promote a vendor. You can easily try McAfee ENS 10.5 and build your own view. Expect the customer who got the old version, all the other have been protected.
Have you heard of IBM's Security Trusteer Rapport ? Seems to be Quite good. Blocks some things other Security software doesn't such as screenshots and it secures connection on sites . Check it out if you haven't already. I enjoy your content very much thanx.

I will never recommend sophos to anyone even to my worse enemy in the tech industry. You get what you pay for. Do not go cheap with security. This product landed as the endpoint protection in an environment I work in, not by choice, but by existence, and eventually was overtaken by ransomware in the holes of windows. Luckily the Unix environment was not affected. Do your research. Just know that if you go with the lowest bidder on the market you will risk huge losses in the long run. This thing is major junk.
