Hey Hermano! I’m also a Nica that grew up in SF. I’m actually here in Nicaragua with the family. Loved following your trip on the bike. I cycle all the time and have been cycling here in Nicaragua. We’re over by Granada and would love to meet up to congratulate you over lunch! Always good to meet Nicas from the bay!
Hola Hermano! How cool thanks for reach out to me and following my journey! How long will u be in Granada!? I’m in Ocotal couple of hours away. I would love to have lunch sometime! Maybe we can do some cycling!
The 1KD is a damn good engine. There are quite s few Aussie TH-camrs on how to maintain it. The biggest issue in Nicaragua is not using proper coolant. Straight water causes issues with mineral accumulation (and sludge from suspended silt) and then poor heat transfer to the coolant by oxidation of both the block and the Rad - If the truck had water when you bought it do a full flush and refill with the Toyota spec'ed coolant. Either a Prado or Hilux for us once we get down there full time.
Bill thats a really good point, thanks for the tip. I will get that done this week. I saw a couple of Nica videos on your youtube page. Are you from Nicaragua?
@@EmenseCoffee My wife is - Been married 30 yrs. She still has 3 siblings there, two who returned after time in Canada and one who never left. We are semi-retiring there Mar 2023
Oh - And I saw your Toyota affinity. I currently have a Prado 3.4L gas In Canada that I brought in from Japan - Unfortunatly it can not enter Nicaragua as it is RHD, so have to get another down there - Probably a 1KZ (older) Prado (96 to '01)
@@BillBlyleven those Prado's are a sweet truck man! that is sooo cool you got yours imported from Japan! to bad you cant import it into Nicaragua! the 1kz is a awsome truck, that's what I love about central america is all the Toyota's! We will have to meet up someday in Nicaragua.
Es una de las mejores compras que has podido hacer toyota hilux es lo mejor que puede haber todo mundo lo elige a pesar de que es bastante caro en el Salvador ese vale $25,000@ $27,000 dólares. Suerte hermano disfrútalo
In the states I have a 2002 Tundra. My first one (2000) I sold with 200K and the person I sold it to just went over 350K. The original V8 was in a Lexus for a decade before the Tundra. And I hauled many many loads of wood and my FourWheelPopUp. And My TDI Golf here is my second one, this one is new(ish) and they are no longer being sold in the US. It's the identical engine that was in my Audi in Italy! My first Golf TDI I sold with 250K and it's still going strong... Nothing like long lasting durable engines... Right now, the Tata competition to the Hills is actually doing better than the Hilux. It's a beautiful truck as well with a little better gearing than the Hilux.
@@stanleybercovitz5136 I love the Tundra's. I had a 2005 for a few years and it was a great truck. I never had any exprience with Tata but I would be interested to try one out.
