Hello Jason, thank you so much for every explanation you did. I have watched your videos about a7c, a6400, zv1, and finally zv e10. it was really helpful to know what I need and what I should get from each camera to decide the best upgrade from my phone. thanks again
Wow, you are so helpful! Thank you for being clear and going SLOW with your demonstrations. I appreciate how you take the time to show the different examples. As someone who is new to camera work, this is extremely helpful compared to most tutorials. Thank you again!
Jason, Thanks for posting the information regarding the ZV-E10. I purchased one about a year ago and have yet to use it. Now that my teen is on spring break we are traveling to historical sites around the area and finally get to use the camera. I was so lost as I forgot all that I read to purchase the camera but your videos have helped so much. Thanks again.
Wow, so helpful. I just purchased my Sony ZV-E10. Your suggestions are noted! Thank you. Update: I just reviewed footage I took on the Sony ZV-E10 implementing your suggested settings. YES!!! I am pleased, very pleased with the results. Thank you again.
I always think it's "dumb" to make step by step tutorials for my niche, but now i got a camera for the first time and I see how much a step by step for dummies (even "put the battery in") is so useful LOL thank you so much for this video !!
Jason, Jason, Jason... Where you been all my ZV-E10 life! Your video is so Intricate and so detailed on how to. Love the fact that you also put up the function buttons so people can follow. I truly appreciate you putting this together for us in the ZV-E10 or ZV1 community. I will continue to follow you and hope to learn more from you. Thank you again.

Thank you Jason, it was really helpful. An amazing video and you tested your Sony ZV-E10 indoors with the typical lighting situation. Everybody else just tested it outdoor in the sunlight. And thank you for your tip to use the cheap Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Lens!!!!!! You are the best!

Yeah it is odd at first, but the trash can only works when in playback mode if you want to delete a photo or video. Therefore Sony decided to make it a custom configurable button so you can use it for various functions depending on what mode the camera is in. It would be cool if it had it's own dedicated button though to your point ;) All the best, Jay
@@Jason_Hermann Good to hear it works nicely. Actually I found it funny because so often the products promoted & showcased in videos aren't that far from belonging to a trash can 😂. I'm obviously not talking about your channel. But some channels / streamers do that. Of course many of them need to get their income from that, so I don't judge them too harshly.

Hey Jason... you do a great job explaining shooting, focus, aperture... well... everything. I started my own YT channel not too long ago and made 30 videos with my iPhone and iMovie, but I'm really looking forward to the ZV-E10, which just arrived. Couldn't get one from Dec 2021 until now due to chip shortage (so Sony said). Definitely going to buy the Sigma 30mm lens you recommended. I still have a few questions and want to keep in touch.
Hello Jason! Thanks for the help. I bought the Sigma 30 and I really like it - but wanted to ask your advice on an additional lens to purchase for this camera that allows the lens to capture more of my torso in the shot. I use my camera to record TH-cam videos and while the Sigma 30 is awesome for close up, I'd love the capacity to shoot with that same blurred background but with more than just my head in the shot. One more question - has Sony come out with a new model since you first shot this that you would recommend. And - do you have affiliate links for any lighting products that you. like. Thanks Jason
Hello Aliene, You have a few options, but the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 lens geni.us/Inpzgn is still one of the best options today for a wider view and blurry background. As far as the same blurry background... well due to the wider view and the way optics work, it will not be as blurry as the 30mm f/1.4 lens, but still it's your best option for maximum blur and wide angle view. Another fantastic even wider view option is the newer Viltrox 13mm f/1.4 Lens: geni.us/VFg9X which I reviewed here: th-cam.com/video/_Yff-wAt7Pg/w-d-xo.html As far as lighting goes, there are a lot of options depending on your needs... For my studio I am currently using the Amaran 200D: geni.us/QKb8LR w/ a 36" softbox like this: geni.us/RGp1
@@Jason_Hermann thanks for tour help! Using your links I ordered the light and the viltron lens. HI Bill, iMovie is pretty awesome and you can certainly use that for creating videos. Final Cut Pro is a professional grade video editor, so it offers tons more power and editing options. It is a little harder to use at first though, but way better workflow once you get the hang of it!

Do you happen to know why when I transfer the videos to my computer using the provided cord, the audio does not transfer? How do I transfer the audio as well?
Thank you so much for this... and I'm hoping you can help this ZV-e10 beginner. I'm having a hell of a time getting the bloody thing to take photos. No matter what setting I choose, video is recorded. Also, is this thing stupid picky about sd cards??? This is the second 1TB class 10 memory card I've used that it's rejecting. I can't post the photo of what the error message says but I can type it out, "Cannot record in this recording setting. Switch to an SDXC Class 10 or UHS-I/UHS-II compatible memory card, etc." The current card is absolutely the latter. Do I just have a lemon of a camera?
I'm not sure how large of a card you can use to be honest, but I use 128GB and 256GB UHS II V90 Cards geni.us/0ZvYw and have never had an issue... As far as not taking photos, are you pressing the shutter release button on the top of the grip, or the red record button which is only for video? Remember, you can record video in photo mode, but can't take photos in video mode...
@@Jason_Hermann Thank you so much for replying. Maybe that's the problem. The size of the card. I've got a 512GB coming so we shall see. the UHS II cards are so expensive.. didn't even know they existed until last night when I was doing some research. In terms of the button I'm using, I admit I'm officially a dumbass. I didn't realize there were TWO "recording" buttons; one for images and one for video... which to be honest is really stupid on Sony's part. Otherwise, I love the camera just getting used to it requires quite a learning curve for someone who has always been snap happy but never really did anything serious with it.
The A6400 offers the electronic viewfinder? If you don't need that then go for the ZV-E10 unless you prefer the slightly larger a6400 camera body better. Sensor/ IQ is the same in both cameras...
When i purchased the camera I was told I could transfer videos from the camera to my phone without a computer, I’m used to having a cannon and using the cannon app. Is there a Sony app for this ?

Need some help super quick. I want to max the battery life of this camera, and so I was hoping that during recording, the screen would end up turning off; it doesn't, so I'm burning more battery life. Does anyone know where in the settings I can change the camera so that the screen turns off during recording after a few seconds/minutes?? Thanks!!
Bro please reply me im struggling to by the camera but no one is helping me can sony alpha zv e10 is compatible with 200 to 600 mm g lens please reply to this🙏🙏🙏 🙏
Neither camera has the best weather sealing honestly, but the A6400 is better in that regard. I also like the electronic viewfinder on my a6400 which the ZV-E10 does not have. However, I do like the side flip. screen and larger record button on the top of the E10, better built in microphone, and killer Skin Smoothing effect is pretty awesome as well. If I had to pic one for just video in a studio I would go with the ZV-E10 for ease of use and saving some cash.

As an amateur I was not aware of SD card qualities. Mine will not allow for 4k or slow mo lol. I'll need to get a better SD card.
Zv e10 vs a6400 please, also this isn't weather sealed right?
Neither camera has the best weather sealing honestly, but the A6400 is better in that regard. I also like the electronic viewfinder on my a6400 which the ZV-E10 does not have. However, I do like the side flip. screen and larger record button on the top of the E10, better built in microphone, and killer Skin Smoothing effect is pretty awesome as well. If I had to pic one for just video in a studio I would go with the ZV-E10 for ease of use and saving some cash.
I can not find the videos on my SD card. Do you know what to do? thanks
