    ... and I ran into another of your videos :)
    (I also have a Triumph tiger and that seat is rather uncomfortable after a few hours.)
    I was looking into why the seat on my R1300GS has an electrical connector since my bike does not have heated seats ... and I still do not know ...
    but also the seat is a touch high for my height and you have now given me something to try, thank you for your videos!
    Cheers!

      Hi thanks for the comment and for watching my videos 👍🏻
      Is it both seats that have the electrical connection or just the riders seat ? Does the pillion seat have a switch on it ?
      Im wondering if seat heating is possibly retrofittable by the stealers programming it ?

    It never ceases to amaze me how so many manufacturers sell extremely expensive bikes that clearly need further money spent on them. If it's not the need for a replacement seat it's the need for a radiator guard, or (inexcusable on a touring bike) cruise control. Or how about a centre stand? "That'll be £200 sir". Heated grips? "Ah, they're an optional extra sir: £150" The list goes on. Eventually the dream bike becomes a nightmare, and I find myself thinking "at this price I would rather have a nice used Bentley Continental GT".

    • @NJWMOTO
      @NJWMOTO  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely 💯 👍🏻
      However if things go wrong with a £20k Bentley like engine failure it could cost more than the vehicle is worth to fix it potentially scraping it 😮

    Thanks for a good presentation i think BMW or the aftermarket are forced to develope a more comfortable saddle I took a ride on the 1300 and it is a
    wonderful bike but the riding position and the comfort on my 1250 is still a argument for keeping it.

      @NJWMOTO  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The 1250 has had its fair share of problems as well buddy, mine had the cylinder heads replaced at 800 miles, wheels replaced at 1500 miles , exhaust headers at 2500 miles, new lcd dash 3500 miles shaft failed the recall 4500 miles beak replaced due to stress cracking I could go on still loved it great bike but 1300 is better by far 👍🏻

      Have to agree, why would you want the OLD model ? The 1300 is head and shoulders over the 1250 but each to their own ! Don't knock it till you try it 👍🏼

  • @aymarx1
    @aymarx1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I’ll share my own fix all be it for the 1250. I had a similar problem. The 1250 allows you to put the seat in the upper or lower position, i tried several ways and cured the problem by having the front of the seat in the high position and the rear in the low position. So the opposite to what you have done.
    This means the seat is higher at the front and angles down slightly to the back.
    I can ride the bike all day without any problems.
    When i tried the opposite solution Back high front low i was in pain after about 45 minutes and was constantly otching back on the seat as movement kept pushing me towards the tank.
    Hop this helps. It cured my issue x

    • @rdlalf
      @rdlalf หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Same here on my 2021 1250 GSA: Felt increasing pain after 45-60 minutes. I sent my seat to a specialist in Germany to optimize the padding according to my weight and size which resulted in more comfort... But the real solution for me was: After putting the front of the seat in the high and the rear in the low position I can ride much longer without any pain.

  • @Taz368
    @Taz368 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    The R1300GS has a lever on the bottom of the seat that slightly raises the back thus affecting the slope. Did you try using it before doing the modifications?

    • @NJWMOTO
      @NJWMOTO  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Taz forgot to mention in the video yes tried this in both positions with very little effect, I found it better in the higher position, my dealer told me this is not to raise or lower the seat it is more aimed at firming the seat foam however I suppose in turn this will raise it slightly 🤷🏻‍♂️
      The key thing here is the front of the seat is to high causing a flat seat and pushing your weight back 👍🏻
      Thanks for your comments and watching the video 😊

    • @Taz368
      @Taz368 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NJWMOTO True. It mostly flattens the rear that otherwise has a small depression. I also prefer it on the raised position. Fortunately my ass is compatible with the stock seat so no mods required for the time being.

    Thanks for your video!
    What I don't quite get is how a difference of axis location of 3 to 4mm between the original concentric and the eccentric rubber should cause a difference of 10 or even 15mm regarding the location of the front part of the seat. Could you please explain that. Thanks.

    • @NJWMOTO
      @NJWMOTO  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The hight difference is 10mm between the bushes and this is amplified by the pivot ratio to the front of the seat that is approximately 100mm from the mounting point 👍🏻

    • @_chisquare_
      @_chisquare_ 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NJWMOTOThanks for the explanation. However, the distance between the rear support point and the front end of the saddle would then have to be (at least) two and a half times as long as the distance between the rear support point and the support point of the rubbers.

    Good video! The GS is a pain in the ass from many perspectives. 😂 I tested the 1300 GS. The seat comfort was horrible from my point of view. It is not a bike for tall riders anymore. It also feels very cramped in general and my feet collided with the rear pegs. A couple of months later I tested a Tiger 1200 Rally Pro and directly decided to buy it. Imo the Tiger is better in almost every aspect and it has a 21inch front wheel, which is must for me. Bloody fantastic bike. Seating comfort (best I have ever experienced) is far superior compared to the one of the GS. Compared to the Tiger the GS feels like an overpriced budget bike for midgets.
