Fun detail about Reiner getting squished by Annie: Reiner took off his hood before attacking her so she would recognize him. In the scene Armine tells him and Jean to put on their hoods since she wouldn’t kill them if she couldn’t be sure that they weren’t Eren but he just smoothly takes it off right before charging in lol.

In the manga, the text bubbles in which Reiner dropped the bombshell were small and tucked into the corner of a panel in which the conversation between the other scouts was front and center.
Loved your reactions, as usual! Below are some of the subtle bits of foreshadowing the show slips in (so-called "rewatch spoilers", if you will): 1. When Annie's identity is revealed, she says that she "failed to become a warrior." At the time, we didn't know what it meant, but it's early foreshadowing of R&B's betrayal when we hear Bertholdt say that Reiner used to be more of a warrior 2 episodes ago. 2. 06:59 Although Eren says he doesn't remember the pair talking to Annie that much, in truth, over half of the different scenes we see them in involve them talking with Annie for one reason or another. Bullying during training, checking that she's okay after she & Mikasa save Connie/Sasha from being eaten in Trost HQ, Annie asking Reiner if they, "do it now" to which Reiner responds, "we should wait for more to gather first," as the cadets are all despairing on the rooftops of Trost & low on gas (we think they mean make a run for HQ to get gas, but they really mean breaking the inner gate). 3. If you pay close attention during episode 2, you can spot a glimpse of Annie walking up to receive food rations before the scene where Eren kicks the soldier; and later when we are told that the refugees are all tasked with tilling the land, but still don't make enough food, we see a young R&B gaping at the military ordering 20% of the population to "retake" Wall Maria and die for the cause. 4. In episode 4, the camera mysteriously focuses on Reiner & Annie when Eren has his mental freeze frame mid-fight with Jean. Why are they both focusing on him so intently? More importantly, why was the camera giving THOSE characters in particular screen time at this moment? 5. In episode 10, at the start, just after Eren blocks the cannonball, the camera sweeps across all the characters panicking about the cannon firing INSIDE the walls, but it keeps coming BACK to Reiner who looks increasingly anxious for some reason. He's the first to take action to ODM up the wall to investigate (cause he's concerned that they shot Eren? Hmmm). 6. 07:03 Sasha's comment about sweets actually IS meaningful. As a commoner, no one would normally have access to the luxury of sweets, especially with rampant food shortages. How could such a rumor come about? Where must she have come from that she knows what sweets taste like? 7. Before the reveal, Sasha says the line, "I can't believe Ymir was a titan too," and then Mikasa suddenly cuts her off with a glance. We naturally would assume that the "other" titan she is referring to is Annie; however, Sasha was isolated with the rest of the 104th so she wasn't present for Annie's capture, nor was Annie mentioned when Sasha delivered the report to Hanje as we learn about Christa being monitored by the church. So there's no way she would know about Annie: subtle foreshadowing of R&B's reveal. 8. Also, last episode, when Ymir leaps onto the tower as it's falling and tells them to grab on, you can spot Bertholdt in the top-left corner ABOUT to bite his hand to transform, but it doesn't look out of place because everyone's mouth is open with wide eyes.
I didn't even notice half of these even though I rewatched the whole show every time a new season was released, and I first caught up in Season 1 (you can do the math of how many times I rewatched the show over the years).
It would be awesome if they reacted to the video "Attack On Titan Foreshadowing, Hints, Clues, Easter Eggs about Annie Reiner Bertholdt", I'm sure both they and the fans would love it!
Not to mention all the sus ways Reiner acts just this season; trying to distract Connie from investigating the titan in his village, his conversation with Ymir in the tower, the way Reiner and Bert react to seeing the Beast and the description they give of him. Also, one that gets overlooked from season 1, when the cadets are deciding which military branch to join, we get internal monologues of most of the main cast, except for those two. The others are wrestling with their choices, but the shifters have other reasons to stick close to Eren now.
this is the best revelation of the animes, it was genius, reiner just said naturally like it was a normal talk, no music, even the camera wasn't on them, my favorite scene
Oh hell yes, it's here. As anime fans discover your channel, they will watch your reaction to this episode to judge if they should watch more. You did great.
I don't know why there was such an amazing feeling to see their expression the entire video, hahaha Seriously this 2 girls are never stop to amaze me!! I'm in shock when they talked about the title of episode and guessing something about Reiner because the word "Warrior" hahhaha Bertholdt was Papa really got me hahha
6:35 Actually everyone got false information (remember Jean and Armin also having the wrong location for Eren). It's a tactic for if you know you have a spy, to distribute multiple different copies of the same document and see which one gets leaked.
A nice detail! When Armin, Jean, and Reiner are chasing the female titan Armin tells them to cover their faces with the hoods so she doesn't risk attacking them and killing Eren accidentally. Before Reiner "attacks" her he removes his hood, showing his face to her. And when she grabs him to "crush him", he winks at her.
This episode reminded me that after all these years, life still has the ability to surprise you! The non-chalant way the **shocking twist** was revealed will always be one of the most unique and memorable experiences of my life! On top of that the song *YouSeeBIGGIRL/T:T* was cherry on top! Chef's kiss! Perfect 10/10 from me! 💗
After this, if you look back on previous episodes it was actually all out there, like how they behaved when those three were together, the side eyes and even, even Bertholdt's peculiar stance when he and Reiner witnessed Ymir's transformation for the first time. We just didn't know where to look. Also, remember in episode 5 when the Colossal showed up again after 5 years? Obviously Reiner and Bertholdt were missing from the group on top of the wall but, Thomas and Samuel were there to distract us from this fact because we didn't know these characters enough to make any connections. Thomas and Samuel's character designs kind of resemble Reiner and Bertholdt's and that was deliberate.
I'm so envious of you guys brains. The amount of things you two retain and can associate is really astonishing. Also you're very genuine with your reactions. For sure the best reactors I've seen for AoT and I've seen a lot of them.
I usually don't care much for react content on yt but you guys are definitely the exception. Your reactions are so strong yet genuine and listening to your clever and indepth speculation is awesome! Loving every episode. Truly a one of a kind react channel reacting to a one of a kind show!
This episode was bonkers. I reacted exactly the same way, I even rewinded several times just to check if I heard right. Reiner just said it so damn matter-of-factly! But it makes so much sense and like Hayley said, the resemblance is there and I still kick myself for not seeing it! What a show! Every time you think you kind of have a grasp they pull the rug right from under you!
The episode that changes an AOT viewer's life forever. This is the first time I've ever seen someone guess that Reiner and Bert's weird behaviour was because they were going to try and kill Ymir though. That's a cool theory!
I love how in this episode specifically started with sooo many warnings, the amount of LITERAL red flags shown distributed in the background until the reveal is done and we as spectators no longer need warnings its crazy. Even one of the first shots into the episode before even showing anyone its literally 🚩🚩🚩 , the second or third time we see Reiner and Berth behind Eren there is a freaking huge 🚩 flapping on the wind and almost every time they are in view, you literally can see a 🚩behind them. I mean c moooon they are literally shoving flags to our faces.... The re-watchability of this show is on another level for real.
after you guys know the two men are titans and rewatch all episodes from the beginning , you can see a lot of good foreshadowing. anyway , thank you for you guys' great reaction. I really love it.
The best episode of the whole show. I get chills every single time I see it. You are focusing on the craziness of the Beast Titan and Ymir and then out of nowhere this drops!
One of the most well written and constructed twists I've ever seen. As you said, it's so nonchalant and mundane. Also the fact that there's a literal red HERRING in the last episode with Ymir. My only gripe on retrospect (and I only realised this on second viewing) is that we don't het enough time with Reiner and ESPECIALLY Burrito.. it's a massive twist but the betrayal feels a bit undercooked in comparison. A few more scenes with Bertoto and Lainah during season 1 would probably remedy this
Annie, when caught by Armin and the survey corps, said something like "I couldn't be the warrior I was supposed to", or something like that. It's something not many people notice, in fact, I only noticed by looking at the show twice after the first time lol. If you noticed that you could connect tha facts a couple of episodes later when Reiner started talking about "warriors"
Reiner was such a good guy. He literally was watching out for everyone. Helping Armin during the rain march by carrying his luggage; Helping Eren during training; Helping Connie and Historia/Krista and getting his arm bit in the process. This is why he said he wished he didn't know there were people like this, because he did grow to care for them despite his ulterior motive. Also why Eren found it incredibly shocking that they really were traitors because he was the one person still holding onto hope that the report was wrong. :)
I was waiting for this moment since you started your react on it ! It's a cult scene that redefines the whole series. A moment were you understand that this show is really something else.
I appreciate that they didn’t pause the video. A lot of other reactors pause the video after the reveal and have a 5 MJ ute discussion rather than letting it play out. Having whiplash from the reveal while watching everything u fold is part of the fun imo lmao
The OST alone gives me chills all over my body, let alone the scene of the collosal titan behind the armored titan on top of the wall. It is such an epic scene. The OST is called "you see big girl/T:T by hiroyuki Sawano.
I think there are 2 things that make this reveal as shocking as it is: 1. The fact that it is one if the biggest reveals of the show and it was done in the most casual and unexpected way possible. Not only did they do it in the most casual way possible, but also they did it in what the audience was expecting to be a breather episode after all the action of the past few episodes. You are expecting an episode where the characters regroup and share the information they gathered, and instead they hit you with this out of nowhere. 2. What you thought was the ultimate bad guy in the show was a regular person that you have known since episode 3. The colossal and armored titans seemed almost omnipotent from the beginning, like gods. They are huge, they appear out of nowhere and they can't be stopped. They break the walls like nothing. They caused the biggest tragedy humanity remembers, they seemed to be the ultimate evil, or at least completely indifferent to human suffering. And the reveal is that they were two regular young guys, who have emotions like everybody else. Regular people who can suffer and be vulnerable, and love. People you have even been rooting for and liking.
11:31 ..man, i remember going thru some bs with my best friend being a back stabbing soab, after more then 10yr growing up together.. i cried brah and completely understood Eren watching this part.. lol .. what a moment in anime.. the voice actors in the studio recording, are amazing how much passion they put into it
*11:16** Hailey: "Why is Bertholdt so big though?"* *I've heard so many people ask that while watching these types of videos and it always makes me laugh. He's so freakishly tall and transformed he's massive. 😂 It's hilarious how everyone is always asking that or, "Why is he so TALL??" Man, I love this episode.* 🤣
In that very episode where Reiner escaped Annie's hands, Armin had told everyone to cover their heads by hoods when fighting Annie. You can see as Reiner is about to into fight with Annie, he deliberately removes his hood so she can see him an not mistakenly kill him.
11:30 Not sure if intentional or the first, but Even Kiss started calling Eren, Eh-ren. 😂 they are deep in just as we all were. And I love seeing Haylo get that little giggle every Eren rage transformation moment.
I thought that was funny, too. I think they listen to Japanese really good while reading subtitles and it got messed up. And Haylo saying Reinheart might be the same way. I’m not sure about Burnheart though..
Don't forget why Reiner's arm was in a sling either. Such a short time ago that he was about to give his life to protect the other scouts, or else blow his cover to survive when he was going to jump out the window with that titan on his shoulders.
Great reaction guys keep it up! I just wanna mention I felt the same way it came outta nowhere for me. However, now that I am rewatching the series with you guys, I see the foreshadowing now. It's very subtle but brilliant. In my opinion, this is one of the best episodes of any anime ever!
Comrades, don't stop watching this series continuously, because you are going to be amazed. You have reached one of the chapters that make your head and heart explode the most. Enjoy the show!
If is not clear to someone yet, Reiner didn't attack right after Bertolt at the second attack because something more important happened. And that "something" was Eren turning into a titan. Annie was meant to help Reiner, there's a little scene episode 7 when the soldiers couldn't retreat because they ran out of gas, Annie asked Reiner "so what we do?" and Reiner replies "not yet, let's wait for them to reunite". The situation was messy and they saw a "human titan", they wanted to see who was it because they were "collecting" titans to take back with them.
Sweets are a rarity in the village Annie was supposed to be from. Sweets often exist in wealthier parts of the civilization, so Annie saying she likes sweets is weird.
Let me tell you girls something. You feel stressed now? Some episodes in and you'll be 100x more stressed, some more episodes it'll be 1000x and then 999999x until the very last last single huge amazing episode!
You guys are SO SMART!
Fr what a prediction at the end of the episode
this is the best revelation of the animes, it was genius, reiner just said naturally like it was a normal talk, no music, even the camera wasn't on them, my favorite scene
Oh hell yes, it's here.
As anime fans discover your channel, they will watch your reaction to this episode to judge if they should watch more.
You did great.
I was literally waiting counting seconds😂
13:23 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Anyway, Reinhard and Bernhard lmao that's new 😂
Today is my birthday, thanks for the reaction, it was great!
hey Happy Birthday!
Hbd🎉
happy level up day! :)
Happy birthday 🎉
誕生日おめでとう!!
I don't know why there was such an amazing feeling to see their expression the entire video, hahaha
Seriously this 2 girls are never stop to amaze me!! I'm in shock when they talked about the title of episode and guessing something about Reiner because the word "Warrior" hahhaha
Bertholdt was Papa really got me hahha
6:35 Actually everyone got false information (remember Jean and Armin also having the wrong location for Eren). It's a tactic for if you know you have a spy, to distribute multiple different copies of the same document and see which one gets leaked.
A nice detail! When Armin, Jean, and Reiner are chasing the female titan Armin tells them to cover their faces with the hoods so she doesn't risk attacking them and killing Eren accidentally. Before Reiner "attacks" her he removes his hood, showing his face to her. And when she grabs him to "crush him", he winks at her.
The reaction of people whenever they see the "To Be Continued"... never gets old. 🤣
The day has finally come!
"Excuse me what?!" Is literally what all of us that already read/watched the series thought when we first went through this part of the story.
The reveal was just as casual in the manga, it starts with a background speech bubble while Hange is talking (chapter 42).
Thought exactly the same thing. Super super smart
I agree!
5:13 "It's fake. It's fake news."
🤣🤣🤣
I usually don't care much for react content on yt but you guys are definitely the exception. Your reactions are so strong yet genuine and listening to your clever and indepth speculation is awesome! Loving every episode. Truly a one of a kind react channel reacting to a one of a kind show!
I like watching Carlie and Ange react to hunter x hunter too atm, they're fun and try to concentrate on the show too
This episode was bonkers.
4:34
こんな面白いexcuse me?は初めて聞いた
The episode that changes an AOT viewer's life forever.
This is the first time I've ever seen someone guess that Reiner and Bert's weird behaviour was because they were going to try and kill Ymir though. That's a cool theory!
genuine twists and endless questions/doubts are what make AoT so good
Finally YOU KNOW NOW 😍 you're reaction every end of the episode shouting "Nooo" makes me laugh because I had the same reaction too 🤣🤣
11:49 Eren's VA went craaaazy
Congratulations, you both just witnessed one of the BEST plot twists in all of anime.
The single best reveal of any tv show, movie or game in history. It’s outstandly unstated
One of the best episodes
This is not the best episode of the show, come on now
@@BigLipBoyJust my opinion. You’re free to have your own, cmon now….
If you noticed that you could connect tha facts a couple of episodes later when Reiner started talking about "warriors"
if you look at s 1 ep 23 last scene, when Annie is about to transform, she also says something about "i have failed to become a warrior"
We've all waited for this day to come
Rewatching the show with you guys and loving it
Reiner was such a good guy. :)
The music, the animations, the emotions...
The only bad thing about this is that there is probably no comparable moment in any anime ever again.
I was waiting for this moment since you started your react on it !
It's a cult scene that redefines the whole series.
A moment were you understand that this show is really something else.
IT'S HAPPENING!!!
Ymir and Annie concealing themshelves to avoid their secrets being found.
Reiner and burrito : Hey Eren, wanna hear a funny story?
4:34 looks exactly like that LEONARDO Pointing meme!! 🤣
I think there are 2 things that make this reveal as shocking as it is:
Finally yall got to this episode! So traumatizing!😭
I literally still remember the day that I watched this episode almost 4 years ago because of how shocked I was
this is a canon moment in my life
The atmosphere in this episode is so heavy. Lack of music does wonders to set the whole vibe, it's even better in that other episode
Ive been searching for yalls reaction for 3 days already LMAO. This is going to be great.
11:31 ..man, i remember going thru some bs with my best friend being a back stabbing soab, after more then 10yr growing up together.. i cried brah and completely understood Eren watching this part.. lol .. what a moment in anime.. the voice actors in the studio recording, are amazing how much passion they put into it
I loved how Kiss tried to keep hope until the last second, 😂
It is honestly crazy that AOT does back to back plot twists. Never realized that Ymir's reveal and the Warrior's reveal are one episode apart.
*11:16** Hailey: "Why is Bertholdt so big though?"*
*I've heard so many people ask that while watching these types of videos and it always makes me laugh. He's so freakishly tall and transformed he's massive. 😂 It's hilarious how everyone is always asking that or, "Why is he so TALL??" Man, I love this episode.* 🤣
Everyone, including myself, needed a minute to process the truth A-bomb that Reiner dropped so casually.
7:07 "Sasha.. that doesn't help.." 😂 Great rxn and episode 🔥
The music, the animation, the voice over everything is perfect
simply one of the best moments in anime history!
This is one of the best episodes in TV show history
If is not clear to someone yet, Reiner didn't attack right after Bertolt at the second attack because something more important happened. And that "something" was Eren turning into a titan. Annie was meant to help Reiner, there's a little scene episode 7 when the soldiers couldn't retreat because they ran out of gas, Annie asked Reiner "so what we do?" and Reiner replies "not yet, let's wait for them to reunite". The situation was messy and they saw a "human titan", they wanted to see who was it because they were "collecting" titans to take back with them.
Seeing reactions to this ep is always a treat. Also love hearing rumbly deep voice Hannes 😂
reindeer had barnyard tweakin this episode 💀🫸🫷🏿
BARNYARD LMFAO
Sweets are a rarity in the village Annie was supposed to be from. Sweets often exist in wealthier parts of the civilization, so Annie saying she likes sweets is weird.
Not only sweets, even meat and salt are hard to get.
The one everybody is waiting for as soon as someone starts Attack on Titan
the show just only begun
Let me tell you girls something. You feel stressed now? Some episodes in and you'll be 100x more stressed, some more episodes it'll be 1000x and then 999999x until the very last last single huge amazing episode! The stress, anxied, craziness of this show is infinite, its PURE EMOTION AND DISCOVERIES RUNNING HIGH AS F*!
I LOVEEEEEE ATTACK ON TITAN SO DAM MUCH, DAMMMM!!!
I was waiting for this ep reaction for so long!!! hahahahhahah * - *
Many regard this episode as one of the best in the whole series because of how out of the blue they dropped the reveal. But then you go back to previous episodes and see they were dropping hints on it the whole time!
