I agree. Especially after they acquired Minolta, I thought it was a “shot in the dark.” I never thought they would eclipse the success of the Walkman, and I was a nay-sayer at first.
I’m blown away by what Sony has accomplished. Their vision in the imaging business is superb.

Just the simple fact that it has expandable storage and headphone jack without a screen notch makes this the king of flagship phones, and the 4k 120 Hz screen just adds to be indisputable

been departed from XZ1c quite few years now since their flagship is pricy against better competitor. If sony able to provide at least 3years of os upgrade would be great

I had countless Xperia phones over the years, ultimately I have to give up getting more. Due to the low demand and hence limited inventory of replacement parts, any damage especially the glass will cost big time. I had broken the displays of both my Xperia 5 and Xperia 5 IV. Simply too costly to replace. My Xperia 5 II's display started to have defective green lines after 15 months. That's not even counting the Z, XZ series from years ago. The prices to repair can get me new Pixel phones. I still miss the Xperia form factor, but my heart cannot take another breakage.

This is definitely the phone I'd want in pocket especially since I started using the Alpha III camera
I did the same on previous Xperia 1 phones, and as a photo too I was really disappointed with the results, while a good phone its not great,and the competition is just on another planet

Sony is the last true phone maker left. 4k screens, headphone jacks, expandable storage, LED notification, no notches or cut-outs, not associated with CCP, and part of a walled garden. Never stop making phones, Sony !
4k screen is useless & drain battery a lot
@@modestman6753 not really. 1440p is used most of the time when you don't have 4k content. 4k resolution is enabled automatically when video playback, so no, it's not draining battery a lot, insignificantly more maybe

@@user-xi2mc9up4r ну, это сильно громко сказано. Когда выходила Xperia 1 III, IV то же самое говорили инсайдеры, что будет 48MP и более, а оказалось до сих пор насилуют никуда не годную камеру с 9MP

It seems like they nailed it this time, finally more resolution and sensitivity to play with. Also apparently it has a night view. Lets see how good the camera software performs and the dynamic range compares to other flagships, but this seems like a super solid phone, expandible storage, headphone jack and uninterrupted cinematic display. This might just be my next phone.❤
I like the manual controls in III, but this looks more awesome.

It's a small thing, but I'm glad that they're going to add a night mode to the regular camera app. Also excited for the "Music Pro" feature!
My best memories are with Sony products! from my grandma's cassette stereo to our first color 14" TV and then play station and... Sony in mobile phones did great with Ericsson and today it still stayed on it's own principles. Oh yest 3.5 audio jack, no notch, great simple design. I'm in!

So many things right in this phone, it's impressive. The only thing holding me with my iPhone is the ultrawide lens. 13mm is just a must for the portrait era. I love the headphone jack is still there. Well done Sony!!!

I absolutely loved my old Z1 Experia. I had it 6 years before I damaged it. I then went to a Nokia 7 Plus, which was a really good cheap phone with an amazing battery life. After that I tried my very first Iphone, with the 13 Mini. I really love the Mini, but if I move back to Android, Sony is my number one choice. I know many people rave about the S23 Ultra and I do like that phone, but Sony really do put so much effort in the detail and quality of their phones...especially for photography enthusiasts. They are specialist phones that anyone can use.
I have the s23 ultra although really good. I have the Xperia 1iv which is really in another league I always come back to the Xperia it’s super fast and there’s nothing like the display and build quality is on there top

Thank you to the Xperia Team at Sony for an excellent product announcement video and two quality smartphones. Love to see the new colors on both Xperia phones. The work to Road to Zero is very impressive.
If I were an Android user (I'm not) I would have a tough time picking between a 1 V and Pixel Pro. Sony should be commended for sticking with Micro SD support. I'm not 100% sure but it feels like they are the only Android mobile phone manufacturer that still offers this. Along with a headphone jack when others decided to cash in on wireless headphones. I have respect for this company as I have fond memories of the Sony products I have owned and used.
I have a feeling Sony mobiles are finally back on the right path!!

Hope sony improved auto mode and fixed overheating issues. If they did, it will be the best smartphone on the market. I use xz1 and i love it, it's such a nice phone.

@@tatatly6762 I'm actually being serious, I fixed the display on the Rog3 as well back in 2021 and ASUS still hasnt fixed it themselves in 2023.
It will require unlocked bootloader tho so youll have to void your warranty.
Just dip it in ice water if it gets too hot 😉

It was between this and s23ultra. The SD card and headphones jack win it all for me. Plus that sweet 4k screen on all my emulators. Cant wait!

Sony Xperia, самый лучший в мире Японский смартфон на Андроид, третий год уже пользуюсь со своим старым Xperia Mark 2, уже давно устарел когда сейчас уже пятая вышла, но всё равно до сих пор он меня не перестаёт удивлять безупречными фотографиями, в основном я чаще всего фотографирую красивые моменты природы, это закаты и восходы, роса и дожди, леса и парки, реки и озёра, облака и так далее, каждый раз каждая новая фотография до глубины души влюбляет в себя японский смартфон Sony Xperia с каждым днём всё больше и больше, и это мне снова даёт новые вдохновления на создания новых шедевров снятые на мой Sony Xperia. Сейчас коплю деньги чтоб обновится до Марк 4, потому что новую Марк 5 не потяну, слишком будет дорогая когда она сейчас на ажиотаже новая, а Марк 4 как раз подешевела из за выхода нового Марк 5, всем рекомендую Sony, только нельзя делать сразу выводы с первого же дня после покупки, потому что в Японский смартфон Sony становится лично для тебя всё лучше и лучше не с первых дней, а с опытом использования минимум пол года, и вот тогда, ты начинаешь понимать что такое Sony Xperia, начинаешь понимать его качество, и почему так дорого, он стоит своих денег. А блогеры, к сожалению, как будто ради галочки возьмут на обзор на 1 день, фотографируют в авто режиме, и не понимают почему не такие яркие фотографии, много вопросов и в результате эти блогеры унижают Sony, типо покупайте лучше Samsung, ну или какого нибудь Китайца.

I've been using Xperia 1 Mark I since 2019 and it is so good that I skipped Mark II, III, IV. Seems the upgrade time has come..
I'm using the Xperia 1 Mark 2 and I'm thinking about upgrading to this one as well.
I don't know how more people aren't talking about the variable optical zoom in the camera. That technology is so amazing and I hope the rest of the industry follows in the next years.

Definitely looks awesome, they expanded the heatsink so seems temperatures should be now under control, but what is really mind blowing is the amount of detail I see in those pictures and videos, it is just insane

I’ve been waiting for this. It’s finally happening!
Guess there should have at least 4 phones upgrade
X1V: 8G2 16+512G 5000+33W Charge 48MP+12MP+12MP, new sensor used to replace the 3yrs old IMX557.
X5V: 8G2 12G/16G+256G/512GB, still IV Gen's display.
X10V: 6G1(778G type performance) Triple 12MP.
Xperia Pro: This one can be exciting, I have no idea how it may looks like or will it unified with the Xperia Pro-I model.
Xperia Ace III should be announced in Japan only, comes with SDM 4G1/4G2(695 Performance)
Will really watch out for the X5V as my Xperia 1III want a retriement and I need another phone beyond my current lovely Zenfone 9.
Let's see what they will bring to us.

I'm a big Sony fan. I think I've been using Sony for 50 years. Video Cassette player, walkman, TV, Radio, music set, PC Tablet, Telephone, earphones.. Believe me, I have never once contacted the service for a problem or repair. Except for the ones I gave as a gift due to model change, all my Sonys at home are still sparkling and all still in working order. Need more words to describe Sony class and quality? For those who want Sony; there is Porsche (Xperia 1 v) and there is also a public car (Xperia 10 v). Sony always the best.❤

I hope they improve the HDR and night mode.
so long as it's natural looking. If you mean "improve night mode" by using the same fake looking night vision goggles style pictures that an iphone or galaxy gives then no thanks. If the new dual layer sensor can achieve similar results to what a full frame camera can do in terms of natural looking low light shots then yes.
@@Sabundy I hope it's obvious to people that it doesn't have bad night mode, they're just bad at photography. A 1/1.7" sensor is perfectly capable of night photography. Just, ya know, you have to use a longer exposure length. Which "average consumers" think is bad because it always turns out blurry, despite the problem clearly being that they did not use a tripod.
Dont forget FINGERPRINT issue
According to leaks it might be comparable thanks to the sensor , without sofware

The new camera sensor seems very promising. Whereas Google makes the most of the camera with software, Sony seems be more conservative and wants to introduce new hardware to do the heavy lifting. I'm curious to see what the phone is going to be like in the real world.

Same! My very first mobile phone was a Sony, the CMD-C5. Later had several Sony Ericsson phones, starting with the T610. Great phones!

OMG 10V has stereo forward firing speakers? This thing is going to destroy everything else in the mid-range! This is the single most important information in the entire video IMHO
I now hope and pray that Sony will give us just like what their competitors offer which is at least 3 or 4 years of firmware, OS and Android updates and 4 or 5 years of security updates..
And I'm looking forward to an ALL 1" inch Sony IMX989 sensors or better on the next Sony Xperia Pro-i.. That's all we ask for..

this is retarded on a phone. Especially considering it's not free for sony to have this. They have to pay for dolby vision, which in turn makes the phone more expensive.
Better cooling, better audio and better night recording. To me those are the things that in the past were stopping me from even considering an Xperia. Now it's a matter of price and availability.
My last Sony Xperia phone was the Z3 way back in the day. I'm currently using an outdated Galaxy S10e and after watching this, I'm most likely going to buy this

I am a complete and total iPhone user, never did I ever like an Android phone, but this phone and its camera are AMAZING, I have the 1V ordered directly from Sony...

I totally understand that. It's either Samsung or Apple or Xiaomi, that's it.
In Pakistan same situation
We chose Xiaomi's specs instead of durability of Sony. And every Xiaomi phone have issues down the line. From motherboard, cameras, to battery etc... It's the reviewers' fault too. They will suggest to buy a better spec cheap quality phone than a slightly expensive but way more durable phone of same specs. People fell into the quad camera, megapixel and other cheap gimmicks of those Chinese phones and suffering. An average lifespan of a POCO phone is 1.5 years. But I can use my XZ1 compact, which is 6 year old without any issues. It won't even lag! And takes better pictures and way better 4K videos compared to those 64MP quad camera phones.
