The way changing the unknown soldiers without one single communication is absolute incredible!!
The Changing of the Guard is something quite special and whenever I come to the US I try so hard to attend, it is a professional well practiced ceremony of which your nation can be very proud. The amazing thing is come rain or shine the guard continues. I bet even covid has not halted it.
It is so important to remember the fallen and the ceremony at the tomb of the unknowns America do it so well.
Часовой никогда не может покинуть пост. Да же смертельно раненный он должен стоять до последней возможность. Так во всех армиях.
Superb! Great respect from 🇬🇧! 👍
If and when I get a chance to go anywhere near that place I’d love to watch them doing the changing of the guards 👍👍👍👍 especially to pay my respect for a fallen comrade.
Extreme dedication and Honor. Much thanks to them. 🇺🇸
It'd sends chills up your spine.
The amount of carnage those soldiers must have faced before their final moments... They shall always be remembered by us. They were unknown in their time, but today they are given the grandest of all reverence and will forever be guarded.
I went to that place before and that is holy respect for those who sacrificed their lives to complete the battle mission. This is the right way of honoring those heroes. Awesome!
A very solemn tribute to all who have fallen, known or unknown ❤
The way everything is done without any verbal communication commands is impressive. Usually it is done with verbal commands, right? That lady Sargeant is a fine specimen of someone you don't want to mess with.
Yes normally it is. Silent commands means there is a funeral going on nearby
She's adorable, at best. Not intimidating.

Silent mode is all about the clicks and counts. Awesome precision.
Two years ago I was privleged to be able to view the changing of the guard at Arlington. It is a solumn and moving experience to see the reverence and respect that these people hold for the unknowns.
I was so moved by the experience that I went back a second time to view it again.
It, by far, was the best part of the visit that I made to our nation's cemetary.
I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Washington D.C.
Wow..as professional as it gets..only the best for our unknown warriors.
Every American should visit DC, and Arlington National Cemetery. At least once. And visit the Tombs. It's very cathartic.
When there is a procession within earshot, they go silent. She is amazing! TOTAL RESPECT!!!
Tom Houd that's pretty amazing. I was wondering why there was not words of command but damn that was sharp!
In a lot of ways, the doing the change without vocal commands is even more impressive. Timing was spot on here with the heel clicks.
The guard change is occasionally done in the "silent" mode (as a sign of devotion to the Unknowns"). No voice commands - every thing is done in relation to the heel clicks and on specific counts.
that is not the reason and funeral processions do not get close enough to hear the commands. Its primarily done as a practice to maintain the timing.
Hooah Sergeant!! A funeral nearby means "silence" and no verbal commands

Just got back from Cuba where I saw this. Very impressive.
I appreciate the reverence of the Ceremony. They are all the same Americans doing what they Love. We all bleed red.
There's just something beautiful and humbling to watch these brave men and women. The sounds, the visuals,. It's very humbling to watch
Outstanding silent mode!
Awesome. I just happened to find this video and soon realized that I heard no commands, it was all silent! All the other videos I have seen have the sergeant of the guard calling out facing movement and so on.
Thank you for sharing this historic and awesome video. I liked it. Please note that I have lived in Arlington and have fond memories of Arlington and the Arlington Air Force Memorial. May those buried rest in peace. PEACE.

Poem: America’s Gallant Soldiers
By: David O. Melton
America’s gallant soldiers
Serve to keep America free,
And some pay freedom’s highest cost
And die protecting you and me
These valiant men and women
Whose mortal bodies now lay still,
In death earned the greatest honor
Herald by a lone bugler’s skill
Because they preserve our nation
Chosen honor guards stand abreast,
While a lone bugle sounds out taps
For each great soldier laid to rest
Yet far greater than all these things
Beyond the stones of marble white,
Behold God’s tribute of honor
That’s shining eternally bright
Greater love has no one than this,
To lay down one’s life for one’s friends,
This honor is proclaimed by God
Over everything it transcends
Now honor our gallant soldiers
Who under freedom’s banner fall,
Soldiers who had to leave loved ones
And made sacrifices for all
Uplift their hurt and grieving child
Left to long suffer and travail,
Each soldier’s widow and orphan
Greatly needs our help to prevail
Let our nation and our people
Honor all sacrifices made,
Now honor our gallant soldiers
And our sacred freedoms they saved
That is beatiful god bless america i love my country i thank all who have and still do serve god bless you all

Hi Maria.
I have never seen the silent ceremony. Every time I have ever been there, it was always verbal. That was quite impressive. One thing many don't know is, all of the tomb guards walking the post, do not display rank. The leader is the only one that displays rank. The tomb guards do not display rank, to prevent them from possibly outranking those intered at the tomb.
👍
"Commander of the Relief" or "Sergeant of the Guard" is the proper title

I know the scrapes with the shoes are actually commands during a silent change....their marching is FAR too precise for those to be accidents. Is there a breakdown anywhere of which scrape means what?
Yes there is. Idk much about it but I think a certain amount of scrapes means forward March and other commands
@@morganbangs2969 Good evening Morgan. You said; "a certain amount of scrapes means"
Did you ever watch a rock or country band with 5, 6, 7, 10 or 20 instruments, musicians, and singers. And every note was correct, the time exactly coordinated with every other instrument, and in complete synchronization with the singers...AND NO ONE WAS LOOKING AT A MUSIC SCORE??
How do they do that?
What you did not see was the 100 times they played that song, and someone hit the wrong note, or the instruments were not on the same note. Or the singer was 1/2 beat ahead of the instruments.
They PRACTICED it 99 times, incorrectly. So YOU could hear it correctly ONE time.
_______________
It is the same with these Sentinels. From 6pm to 7am, they PRACTICE this WRONG 99 times, so you and I can see it ONCE correctly. They don't need clicks and scrapes to know what is next. They KNOW it
Just like a musician has an internal metronome so keep his timing perfect, these Sentinels are in synch with the exact same internal cadence.
BECAUSE THEY HAVE PRACTICED IT HUNDREDS OF TIMES BEFORE.
@@mark9531 I know. I was in band and I get exactly what you mean. And I’m in AFJROTC and I totally get what you mean. Countless hours of practice to do it right once at a competition. I thought that instead of saying commands they scraped the ground with their shoe
@@morganbangs2969 amazing! I thought her scrape was a mistake which I know they don’t make so I was confused. Goes to show EVERYTHING they do is for a reason and absolute perfection. Thanks for the explanation.
@@heiditaylor6206 you’re welcome! They mainly do it when there’s a funeral near by so their commands don’t disrupt what’s going on

This makes sense. I was unaware of this.
Good Observation.
The guard change is occasionally done in the "silent" mode (as a sign of devotion to the Unknowns"). No voice commands - every thing is done in relation to the heel clicks and on specific counts.
roncelyn these guards are highly trained professionals, no orders are needed in the execution of their duties, they know the exact count of paces and the order the various movements are done in.
To issue orders would detract from the ceremony.
How do they know who is being relieved by whom?
I feel the old guard had more precision and finess.

Hi Nakju
The M14 is not a lightweight weapon, as I remember during the funeral detail.
With the walnut stock and bayonet it is about 10 pounds. It is called the "ceremonial" M14 because it has the walnut stock instead of the fiberglass stock.
It is fully functional, but unloaded.
Почему осмотр оружия и внешний осмотр караульного происходит здесь, а не перед заступлением?.
Потому что тогда не будет этого шоу.

@@goodikarma8543 "Post and orders, remain as directed."
"Orders acknowledged."
After saluting the unknows again the sergeant orders "Post" the new guard then steps onto the mat. She then orders, "Right Face." She then does the walk around that you see in the video. After the retiring guard shows his M14 is unloaded and the safety is on, she orders, " Fall Out." The guard then marches back to the guard quarters where he prepares for his next shift.
