Congratulations. I like oats with apples milk, butter and brown sugar for breakfast. On long distance treks you reach a mental and spiritual valley once you push thru the pass, temporally speaking,you are in a different world. on the trail.
For the safety factor, were you hiking alone? Something that would be discouraged in case you got hurt. When packing through an area like this, always have someone with you.

i take some protein powder for back up. its light weight and it helps when you get low on food to keep up your strength.
