Thanks for the reminder! I bought a '97 NSX about 6 years ago with 64.8K miles on it. The odometer is currently at around 65.3K miles. I've driven it less than 500 miles in 6 years and 250 of those miles were from my trip home from Atlanta when I bought it.
@@superspeeders Thanks, Rob. I'll check out the Adventure Drive site. I don't think I could make the Colorado trip, but the Charleston option is a possibility. Forgot to mention that after my NSX sits for a few weeks, when I get it out on the road again, something near the front driver's side wheel makes a noise for about 20 seconds. I think it's the anti-lock brake unit kicking in once I start rolling. That doesn't happen if I drive it regularly.
I'll never be able to afford a car like these, (cars aren't really my thing anyway,) but it is so refreshing to hear someone talk so passionately about a subject. I know enough car guys to realize there's a stark difference between cocky swagger, and someone who has a deep appreciation for the subject.
It doesn't need to be about some high end sports car I have a focus st with 310k and a porsche 944 with 280k same idea applies I like them like that 97% Of the depreciation is already done, so now I don't feel bad driving it like it was intended to be driven.
Don’t save it for the next person…you pay so that you can play. Typically the 20 yr old daily driver with 400k miles is far more reliable than the lower mileage collectors car
I think if you drive it when you have the want to it has no problem only when you want to drive it but don’t or worry about how it could impact the financial value is when you are doing it wrong
When I was growing up we had very elderly neighbors who had a 55 Chevy purchased new. Looked brand new and ran like brand new. Very low miles for the early 80's but I had the good neighbor job of keeping the car going. At the time I didn't know much better but once they gave up driving I was tasked with starting the car and pulling it out of the garage where I learned about getting a car up to temp and then around 14 I would take it on a short drive but was told specifically to go at all speeds, especially full acceleration. Goal was to get it where the garage floor never had a drop on it. I'm guessing Tiara must have had a similar upbringing... RIP young lady, never knew you personally but you are clearly missed by many.
Rob, I commented on a video you did on flood titles years ago. I bought my E31 850i manual from Iowa in 2008 right before the town was underwater... even though I saved it, it still languished in my garage it was so hard to fix!😂
Buying a house isn't a good idea in my location, so I went ahead and bought my forever car. 23 Camaro SS. I couldn't imagine spending the money I did and not daily it. Even in the snow it is my trusty steed. Love my 🚗
Don't forget that the rubber hoses get brittle and leak/break more often if they just sit in a dry environment and you get flat spots on your tires if you don't move them.
I always knew this but you really put it excellently into perspective. Unless you end up crashing the car it’s going to need maintenance if it sits or drives. So why not just drive it!!!
Yeah seals dry out & other things fail, always drive your cars even if it's just once a month for 25 miles or so, I keep a spreadsheet on my cars, Rj in Oz
You have to put a certain amount of miles on stuff to make sure the rubbers aand seals stay oiled up. And to make sure the moisture in the fluids evaporats or the oils become acidic
Being Disabled, I would never be able to afford a supra but have all ways loved that car, and I hope you get a good buyer Take care and have a great rest of your day in your necklace. Wherever that may be and remember to practice, kindness for kindness is key to a good life, and a good life should be shared by all buddy

That’s what happened to my 1985 Cadillac Seville bustleback that I had bought it from a family member back in 2019 who just kept it in the garage. Found a shop to get it back up and running lots of issues. I sold it and bought a little higher mileage with 29,000 miles Cadillac Eldorado now I drive it during Spring to Fall on the weekends and put it away during winter.

You have two cars that are maybe 20 years old. Give or take. And when cars get old if you drive them or not, components and parts tend to go bag and need to be replaced. You are right these cars should be driven when the season/weather allows it. But this would happen regardless if the car was driven or not.
I recently bought a 2015 370Z Nismo with 16k miles, really wanted to keep it low mileage… but i started to actually drive it (mainly to shows). It has 18k miles now, enjoyed the 2k miles so much
My 458 spider that i only drive about 1000 miles a year since i dont drive in salty roads, it clogged the breaks even though i change all fluids constantly... it sux because i dont have time to take my cars out all the time and i eont sale it either so it is ehat it is, just keep up with the maintenance even more if you dont drive
Someone correct me if you think I am wrong but, the only "super car" I feel worth DRIVING is the Corvette. What other supercar can you put 100K miles on without major issues? We see them will less than 40K and they have already had tens of thousands in repairs done. Sure, they look good but none are worth owning unless you are just a egomaniac wanting to brag. I know, I had a Lotus, and it was for one purpose- To impress clients. It was a piece of expensive junk. There is a Young man on TH-cam (Lamboerniee) who bought a Lambo with a blown engine, he's putting a LS engine in it. Smartest move ever for a Lambo.

IDK when you bought that NSX, I've literally only put like 40,000 miles on my daily driver for the last 5 years lol. I work from home though so don't need to really drive much.
Tell shabambam he is dumb. 😂😂😂😂. Idc how much money I have, I will always drive my vehicles as they were intended to. Trucks do off-road and through mud puddles. Right now I’m searching for a 2020 gt500 and so many of them have little to no miles and all I can think is how much Im going to drive the shit out of it at the track
Even mainstream cars really don't like to sit. I am VERY WARY of older cars with super low mileage. You would much rather have a car that was driven regularly and purely maintained and repaired than one that's just sat. Sure, market values tank with high miles.. but market values also tank when a car needs lots of work.

Brake line leaks and oil leaks don't happen because of poor fuel quality. They happen because seals dry out.
