So true! I think that trombones get an unfair treatment from people in DCI. I think they're perfect for it. I can understand having an issue with synths but not bones.
@@maxalain9948 corps would be better served in having trombones implemented fully, integrated further into the production, not just as an appendage for effect, but constantly being a part of the tonal package. It’s crazy to think that I’ve seen high school bands executed this so much better imo than dci has, I don’t give a damn if it impacts visuals, I AM HERE FOR THE MUSIC(besides imo BD’s ballads, that’s where I actually feel these trombones are being truly pushed and challenged). I have seen this show in person and I can attest to how awesome this trombone section was, but GOOD LORD, I loved what Hebron’s 2021 arrangement and musical package was able to provide for their trombones, the best implementation of trombone I have seen in the marching arts and it’s not even close for me.

Phantom Regiment 2018 omg that Low Brass feature gives me goosebumps everytime! The visuals are insane too, with some of the trombone players literally laying on the ground.
Carolina Crown 2016 is the best. Cmon it's hard to do that. I even tried. It's hard. That high Bb. Give him some credit guys! It is hard to get the high notes up there could easily become the wrong notes.

A lot of corps have used trombones to great effect in the years since the instrument was introduced, but idk if I’ve ever heard a trombone line play with the power and clarity of the 2016 and 2017 Blue Devils. That sound will wake you up in hurry 😳
By the way, I'm friends with the people from flomarching and there's a good reason they block certain videos. They do it because they don't have the rights to the music, they are required to not post the music or else they can get in trouble. I hope this clears things up a little bit. They don't do it to mess with you I promise. It's just because they can actually be sued because of other people posting their videos

Does anyone know what the easiest dci band is to get in to? I’m a trombone player in northern Texas. As of right now, my friend and I (he’s on French horn/ mellophone) will audition when we’re 16 in two years but I might next year and was wondering where to go rn were thinking cavaliers

If you just want to get into a corps and don’t want to stress about not being good enough, go for one of the lower ranked corps, they’re still tons of fun, give an amazing experience, and they almost take anyone as they have lower recruitment, but I would still suggest (if you can afford the audition fees) apply to the higher crops, the amount of people I know who could be in things like SCV and BD who didn’t because they didn’t think they would get in is too high, and they all regret it, never sell yourself too short 👍 But my recommendations would be the Academy from Tempe Arizona, Pacific Crest from Diamond bar California, and Genesis from your home state of Texas.
