I think roger cut his hair in support of Jemmy. Because in these times that was not a popular haircut and the other kids might tease Jemmy about it. So it was father and son solidarity
It's been so great to hang out with you and the Frasers every Thursday. Seeing that you uploaded gives me a happy every time - until today. I suddenly realized it's going to be the last one for a while. Thank you for all the history tangents, and welcome to Droughtlander I'm not crying, you're crying.
"The World Turned Upside Down" was a chapter title in "A Breath of Snow and Ashes", which pre-dates "Hamilton". It was taken from the title of an old English song of the same name which predates "Outlander".
Yeah, and the British army's fife players famously played the old song as they left America in defeat following the Battle of Yorktown because everyone was so astonished that the ragtag Continental army defeated the most powerful army in the world. The song was not written for that event, though it is forever associated with it. And now the Hamilton song is much more famous.
What a great journey this has been to share with you. Thanks for the great reactions. I may bop over to patreon now and then and look forward to the book reviews. Have a great Droughtlander! 😁
The show runners of Outlander were once asked in an interview, what other show besides Outlander would they like to be a part of? And one of them answered, Vikings. Well I was intrigued, and I started watching it. Gotta say, I became hooked, almost obsessed just like I binged Outlander the first three seasons. If you haven’t seen that, I highly recommend it. You won’t regret it!
in the book they literally cut to zero Jemmy's hair, and when they find the mole and Claire is like " you know....tat kind of birthmark usually is hereditary" Roger goes "Jamie, shave mine too" so he can 100'% prove and proudly show he and his son have the same birthmark. it is HIS son. So if for any reason anyone eve had a doubt..boom, i their faces XDD but mostly to proudly show it.
I know you've read book 1, so you know that Claire killed 2 English soldiers (and a wolf) when breaking Jamie out of Wentworth. So yes, there are exceptions to "Do No Harm" for her, but they always have to do with protecting people she loves (like when she killed Geillis to protect Brianna) or aiding the suicide of people who are suffering (like Colum MacKenzie). She didn't kill Lionel because he was no longer a threat once he was wounded and Jamie's prisoner.
There are a ton of so-called fare trails on TV like the so-called Fare in Exosquad. Of course, he was sentenced to death but later got out for saving his own fleet collective ass.
Aww, now back to droughtlander. I'm really excited to hear your thoughts on the books though! Also another show I just watched and loved was called The Empress on Netflix. There's only one season out so far but it was wonderful.
Season 6 was meant to have 12 episodes, but because of Covid and Cait's pregnancy they decieded to cut it short and add the other 4 episodes to season 7, which will now be 16 episodes. A lot of stuff happens in Echo in the Bone, so I can't wait to see what they put into season 7 and how. I've always considered the books and the tv series as two separate entities. Ir is like comparing apples and oranges. This is just my opinion.
Spectacular reaction to a good season finale. The great points about Tom and what his motivations might be, were very informative. And all the comments about the emotions around the gun battle and the house were great. I think many are going to love this reaction, even if few join me regarding my admiration for the comparison of Clare to Shepard Book, and... "it is a bit fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps." Alexa, Thank You, for a sixth season of excellent OL reactions! Now, welcome to the most frustrating, yet most unifying aspect of our common fan experience... Droughtlander! You're now truly one of us!
Great reaction welcome to Droughtlander gonna miss these reactions until the next season but happy you caught up. Season 6 was supposed to be 12 episodes but got reduced to 8 because of covid so this wasn't supposed to be the season final so your right when you said this episode didn't feel like a season ending episode. Also not surprised you put season 4 near the bottom of your favourite to least favourite season. I remember you replying to a comment I put on one of your season 4 reactions saying that season is one your least likely to rewatch due to the scenes of slavary and Brianna being Raped.
Welcome to Droughtlander, it sucks. There are a couple of animated scenes from the DVD's that are probably on You Tube, also the bloopers etc. Quite a few deleted scenes too.
Thank you, I cover most of the behind the scenes info over on Patreon (and yes, I have been in Droughtlander since these aired, since that’s when early access came out.) I have not come across anything animated yet, but I did recently acquire the graphic novel.
@@alexachipman the animated scenes are direct snippets from the books that they couldn't have done on film but are still voiced by the main cast. The Selkie one was a particular favourite of mine from the book.

Not same kind of show, but have you watched Good Omens? If not, I'd really love to see your reaction, especially now that they'll have a second season.
Have you thought about reacting to House of the Dragon? I know you’ve mentioned that you’ve watched Game of Thrones and it’s easily one of the best things HBO has put out in a long while fantasy wise. Either way glad to finally see you’re reaction to this! It was such a great finale and I cannot wait for s7
Thank you for picking up the more recent episodes, I found this series a hard watch at times, too realistic. Or maybe because my own Scottish and Irish ancestors came over to the Colonies about this time, oppressed by my English ancestors ;-(
Did you saw Outlander's new post on Instagram, it's about who will come back in season 7? Check that out, I am so hyped now. Btw, I saw your every single Outlander reaction. Amazing journey!

Thank you! No Outlander since I think it was May has not been easy.
Book review videos coming soon, though!
I think Roger's hair cut was because the matching birthmarks were definitive proof that Jemmy was his and he felt so proud he wanted to show it off.
Welcome to the world of Droughtlander.
Been there for months - not fun! :)

I didn’t like the pilot episode, but I think there is a different series (Valhalla?) I might give that one a try.
@@alexachipman So you never followed through with Vikings despite the pilot?

I always repeat the WHOLEseries while waiting for new season during DROUTLANDER!
I don’t know if this is spoiling but they announced recently they will be doing a final season after this one. I may cry knowing the end is near😭😭😭

Claire in the show has a different vibe to the books; I see them almost as two different people :)

Poldark is a really good historical drama, somewhat similar to Outlander😊
I also recommend that great series, with Aidan Turner in the title role👍

@@alexachipman Oh no, I'm on meds for migraines so I totally understand. Hope they clear up soon!
I love Outlander. After I watched it the first time, I watched and loved "The Last Kingdom" - really different but it filled the need for adventure.
Well, as you could probably tell from my reaction to the pilot episode of that…I just couldn’t get past the myriad of historical inaccuracies.
@@alexachipman That's right - I do remember watching your reaction. All good! Can't wait to see what you find during your first droughtlander. :)
