      Dont kid yourself!
The US government has no allies! They are only concerned about themselves and no one else. The US government would STAB and ABANDON its so-called allies in a second. I can give you many examples. But let's start with the recent one. Germany foolishly aligned herself with the US in support of Ukraine against Russia. What did the US do to Germany? It blew up the Nordstream gas pipeline which is how Germany was able to get cheap energy and became Western Europe strongest economy. Now Germany is finished because they US sabotaged them. What kind of ally would do that to its friend? Does that look like an ally to you? How about what the US did in Vietnam. It was the US who pushed the South Vietnamese against the northern Vietcons. And what happened when the war was going on, the US abandoned them and caused millions of South Vietnamese to be killed. That is why the South Vietnamese first lady said, "who needs an enemy when you have the US as your friend" Let's not forget the same thing that happened in Afghanistan. The US again did the same thing.
That is why former US Secretary of state Henry Kissinger said, "To be an enemy of the US is deadly. To be a friend of the US is fatal"
The US government would ABANDON Israel right now if comes down to it. They couldn't careless about ANY country.
So please don't be fooled. The US has no friend

Trump just announced that he is going to make or let China pay for repairing Panama Canal - making a bold statement like this irritates China and I bet if both countries got together and had frank and open discussions with China on how to solve this problem I bet China would step up and help resolve the problem! I really hope the new US Secretary of State has a great understanding and knowledge of doing business with China to keep the peace and for both countries to prosper. I would also hope that the Sec. of State reach out to Kishore and Mr. George Yeo to assist in any way in improving relations with China and the rest of the world- these gentlemen are so well versed on Asian and World politics! It appears you don't understand what is going on.
China followed by Russia is DOMINATING the global political diplomatic scene. The US is losing ground left and right.
Go all over Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Caribbeans and Latin America and you will be SHOCKED at the MASSIVE influence of China! The US is nowhere to be found. Unfortunately people in America have no idea how China is making huge impact with their mind boggling infrastructural investments. If you ever visit these regions you will see the evidence.
America and the West made one mistake!
They should have used their power to make sure EVERY region DEVELOPED within the last 200 years. Why? Because they would have GAINED a lot. Instead they made sure these regions did not develop and STOLE their resources for centuries. These have led to RESENTMENTS over the decades. China did the opposite...all within 20 years!

We often think of the former Soviet Union as an isolated state... Eery to see that the United States is also moving somewhat into that same trajectory.. This is all the more concerning when you know that the West has access to alternative media alongside a perceived education system that fosters critical thinking....
At the same time, you see India re-opening an embassy in North Korea of all states.. Given that India has a higher share of global population, and that they are an ancient civilisation (like china), they are arguably more representative of the world. In this example, it seems that India is looking to work with the geopolitical realities of the world and America is becoming an isolationist, propaganda driven, global minority.....
These Ancient civilisations have so far "seen it all" - being rich/poor, being respected/rejected. They've even had a second/ third person's perspective of what a modern "superpower" can do, thereby collecting more wisdom as they move forward.
Given that we are moving into the Asian century, it will be interesting to see how ancient civilisations like China and India conduct themselves as they regain global eminence.

IMHO I don't think it is a huge mistake. The mistake was accepting free trade agreement in the first place. Free trade between to disparate economics is not practical. Before the free trade came into effect, the US had a standard of living much higher than the underdeveloped countries. It still has, but supported by deficits. If you connect a lake at 1000 feet altitude to an Ocean, the lake will drain. It is so with economies too. The US is the lake. Were it not for the dollar's trade currency status, the US wages and standard of living would have come down to the Chinese or Indian level. Free trade is very dangerous for high wage countries to do with low wage countries. The reason is the high wages were a result of high manufacturing production. Free trade destroys the roots of the high wages. If the free trade is continued, there would absolutely no industry would be left in the US. The auto industry would be the first to go with Chinese EVs costing one third of American. The Boeing mid size aircraft would be history immediately and the large size one in a few years. Most of the electronics production went away years ago. The service industry cannot survive without wage earning customers. Even Agriculture cannot compete globally. It has been sustained with subsidies. The decision to use imported goods vs local cannot be left to the consumer. The consumer will pick an import which is 1% cheaper than local product thereby destroying 99% of the local revenues. The leadership should decide if an import has more benefit than harm.

"Huge mistake"? The REALITY as for the past few years is that thousands of MNCs hv been rushing to get out of PRC, even as a LOSS. Take the eg of CapitaLand which has just stated that it has S$113 BILLION in PRC & recently sold a commercial building in the financial district of PRC to a state owned enterprise for a discount of 35%, whereas a video just revealed that some housing units in the first tier cities hv fallen 70%! KM should hv the courage to walk his talk and buy such cheap well furnished units so cheaply. Even many PRC citizens/biz hv and are to flee PRC for having made such "huge mistake". Or is he double triple down on his own foolishness of the past years?

You are speaking about the way you see things. That is all. Trump has not been in office for four years. In the future, make a list of statements giving your opinions then back them up with something substantial like quotes. You are generalizing about Americans. You are speaking for yourself and Malaysia. The Vietnamese are not thrilled with China. I have heard the Vietnamese demonize China. India is not thrilled with China. I hear Indians demonize China. You are very subjective and you do not offer facts. You favor idiots like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because they do not threaten you. Biden and Harris are two very disrespectful people but you do not comment on them. You comment on Trump because he threatens you. There is a bit too much jealousy of the man. Stop generalizing about all Americans. We are not alike. We are Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, African, Anglo, French, Cuban, Malaysian, etc. etc. In the future, please do not whine.
