Those kids are gonna cherish the hell out of these kinds of things when they grow up, especially with someone like you around! Awesome job with everything
Very cool little cabin. How could you go wrong with your pint sized helpers. Your a very lucky man! Lots of memories will be created and your spot in paradise!
Wow! Amazing work on the Cabin! It's enjoyable to learn as you go and pick up new skills along the way. You're a great inspiration for others! Thanks for posting this build.
Hi Jordan,I’m from South Africa and I just watched you win the Alone show,👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾man what an awesome time watching you conquer the wilderness!I just KNEW you were gonna win man, congratulations and I wish you and your family health and happiness ✅🇿🇦🙏🏾
This time with your kids can NOT be discounted. They will remember this cabin no matter where they end up in life. It's the gift you and their mother give to them.
Don't wait! Do it now. Imagine how wonderful your life would be not having a mortgage while still in your twenties. All that saved mortgage money could build incredible wealth. Please go for it.
Absolutely beautiful little cabin, you have a beautiful family too. Great job good sir. I didn't know what I was doing and chinked my cabin before staining so now I might loose my lines
I've always wondered what kind of insulation you would use. Loved how you utilized the extra wood for the walkway along with your sound effects! What a neat cabin with a view thanks to that extra help from your Kiddo's ... ( :
Looks like alot of my cabins..I have cabins in the Adirondack Forest in New York, and the Shindagin Forest Finger Lakes New York and The Allegheny National Forest PA in Marienville..I rent them out on AIRBNB and Hipcamp..Got all my doors and windows from Facebook, and the lumber from the Amish..Finding cheap properties with the proper zoning where people want to camp in cabins was the hard part and took years to find, but makes a very good business..And allows me to hang out in some of my favorite forests..I do the East coast cause I do Florida for the winter..
That looks amazing, might I suggest you add a fan high up in the peak of the roof to help push warm air back down in the winter, it doesn't need to be a powerful one, just enough to circulate the air/heat arounf the room.
I’ve had nothing but Lifetime treatment on the pine clapboard on my cabin for 15 years now and it looks great… nice and grey and no rot anywhere. It’s a great product.
Beautiful job. I was in awe of your patience with the chinking. I would not have done grids on the big window. Obscures the view. Amazingly original and unique design and methodology.
@@hobojordo I actually love it when all the windows are different. It adds so much character. Love that one window matches the door. Wish your little cabin was my own. Gave you a thumbs up.
I bet that's a killer on the hand real quick squeezing that big caulk gun like that. Maybe that stuff comes out easy. I used to have to squeeze one alot but it was subfloor glue and it got to the hands after about an hour.
I used to build Ward logs homes , with white cedar from Maine. It was a great insulating wood. Is that Fir ot Cedar? Its a dream cabin no matter the wood. Mettle roof so the snow slides off?
Holy Moose what a Cabin! The Cabin and this video are sure to make many fond memories with your family for the future to come. Projects like these are always pretty daunting to me, its a lot of work and time, and you have to know what you're doing for the work to really count, but the outcome can be something pretty awesome like what you have here. I'm just curious how much time do you think you put into working on this project, was it a lot of brainstorming and research? And was it mainly just yourself doing it along with your wife and kids? (Sorry in advance if you already put the amount of time somewhere)
I’m a big fan of just doing and learning as you go… There’s that old phrase in Russian that translates to some thing like the eyes are afraid, but the hands do. So just do it don’t be afraid to make mistakes and you will learn a ton as you go. I started this in December and finished it in June, but wasn’t working on it a lot of that time as we did some trips with the family and I had other things to do also…
I wonder if you realize just how frequently you make sound-effect noises yourself. I ended up muting the video but the cabin build was entertaining to watch

Jordan, you would have won Alone at any season since it started. You're like Nadal on clay when you're out there.

Complete with sound effects 😅 👍
