I love how the “where is he?” in man of the house was repurposed later in king, when the suitors sing, “where is he? Where is he?”
I'm so glad he repurposed the "all i hear are screams...i keep thinking of the infant from that night" segment bc it SLAPS and fits much better in the Underworld Saga

ismarus is very hamilton and i love it but at the same time im glad the songs we have now have their own original sounds :) with those, you can listen to an epic song and immediately tell its from epic.

Also, mircsy's animatic of the boar fight had the scene where Ody saves Polites and I thought it just their interpretation but it turns out it was described in the cut song. It's a canon event!

I also realized that Mircsy took it from this cut song when I heard it a few days ago, and also I want Polites to live too, he's like a wholesome angel on Earth, and I'm pretty sure that if he were still alive he would be a great and constant emotional help and support and also offer great advise to Odysseus and he would feel overall better and it would be easier for him than it is now to endure the days until he gets to his family, Ody lost all that when Polites died, why had Jay to deal such a cruel and low blow and not only that but make mentions of it after that like in the song "Keep your friends close".
We all need a Polites in our lives :(

I think that was the callback intended, since in that part, Oddy uses Circe's seduction method to win Calypso's favor

@@TowardsTheMoon880 I am assuming that you are referring to the 10:12 time stamp. I think the dominant instrument is a harp instrument of some sort, and the piano at the end signifies Odysseus using his Cunning?? (which is one of Athena's domain in a sense).

Can’t fact check this but I saw in another comment section someone say he said he’s considering having a cut song after he releases the rest of the musical.
Ismarus sounds like a Hamilton song and Your Light sounds like Dear Evan Hansen.

I understand why everyone's saying Hamilton for Ismarus. But actually, having listened to My Heart Says Go, I can hear a lot of his old style in there. It's interesting to track someone's style across time. He definitely grew from Hamilton though.

Does anyone else notice how the melody of Polites's line at 2:54 is the same as Telemachus's "Tell me Athena why you came to my aid"? I love how we get to hear how the music has evolved, and that he still keeps bits and pieces and repurposes them

Tho I understand from a narrative stand point why Your light was cut and replaced by Open arms, I'm not sure about Olive tree. Its such a sweet song showing tender moments between Penelope and Odysseus. Maybe they already had too many songs and unfortunately Olive tree couldn't make it? 😢

@@Athenabadassinthearena after looking into it further it looks like st some point he released the first 5 songs very early on, maybe for his patreons. There are also early versions of the horse and the infant, just a man, and full speed ahead which are all very different

Hearing what we have so far of the final draft and of the ones you put together from what I guess would be "the second draft", he was right to cut the songs before Odysseus' origin song. Sure, those songs seem fun, but they make me think that they are just supposed to mimic other musicals. The one's after, I love tho.
It also had a big essence of Hamilton in almost every cut song (the old ones) and everyone was noting that as well. Jorge found his own style tho and it's so much better in my personal opinion, I like EPIC songs more than Hamilton's
