I find it fascinating with how much devotion the work in Japan is done. What I also really like is that many tools are made by them self and that they use many materials from nature.
I've been an amateur woodworker for most of my life. Though I fear my enthusiasm has usually outweighed my talent. When I succeeded in making something exceptional, I was often annoyed at remarks like "You're so lucky to be able to do that!" - as though time, practice and effort had nothing to do with it. I DO appreciate what's needed, not just to produce beautiful objects, but to learn and progress to the point where you can. Videos like this leave me almost breathless, not just because of the talent, but because of the discipline needed to achieve that talent.

For me this is the most admirable aspect of Japanese Culture, I try to replicate this in my career.
