  • If you have ever eaten in a sky restaurant, it probably gave you the feeling you will have driving this 1964 Buick Skylark Sport Wagon. This survivor drives as good as it looks.

64 1/2 Sport Wagon series 4200 and 4300 Coustom models were trimmed like the Skylark. 2,709 were made with 2 seats. 2,586 with 3 seats.

The Buick emblem was first seen on the 1960 models, and is still in use on today's Buicks.

My parents bought a new 64 buick skylark wagon from imkey buick in Columbus Ohio. The only difference was they had the spoke spinner hubcaps. Same tan paint. The neighbor behind us had the same car in blue.

I had a blue one, white interior and 3rd row seat, Sears underdash AC. Took it on a summer-long cross country trip of 18,000 miles in 1971.

Love these. My best friends parents traded in their 61 Mercury Colony Park on a new 64 Buick Sport Wagon, it was a beige color , same interior as this one, theirs was the 1st sport wagon sold at our local Buick dealer. I live outside of Sacramento and got to ride in the back up I80 over the summit to Lake Tahoe, I always loved those Vista windows. The thing that I remember was how easy it was to get into the 3rd rear facing seat and always wondered about it, and recently read that the wagon is a bit longer than a regular Skylark wagon, and the extra inches is in the back seat area and this car has a longer back side door, to help get into the 3rd seat, also the vista gives it more head room so that 3rd seat could face forward. Theirs was almost like this exactly except they had nice Buick optional hubcaps. They always got a new car every couple years and they wound up keeping this Buick for about 8 to 9 years. By the way this has the optional interior, very nice. GM really thought this car out well!

I've never seen a 64 Buick before, never mind a 64 Buick Skylark. I've seen 1965 Buick Skylarks before.

@@blueovalranch I don't know why, but I find the 64 Buick Skylark more attractive than the 65 Buick Skylark. Everyone has their ideas what makes a car look more attractive, but if you compare the front of the 64 Buick Skylark to the 65 Buick Skylark, you'll see what I mean.

The beige pedals are interesting. I've never known of those. This has to be a deluxe interior, particularly with the faux tooling inserts in the seats and door panels. We used to build really nice things.

do you have the original wheel covers? the Buick Rallye wheels look beautiful - I believe they were a factory option on Sport Wagon - what color is this car? - appears to be beige in your video - do you have photos of the window sticker? These cars were new in Buick show rooms when I was in first grade - the family of a buddy of mine at school owned one that was two tone silver with a black top and red interior - their relatives owned Orand Buick in Dallas, Texas

I am in love with this beauty.
My mother totalled one of these in late 1970s. Just got rid of back bench seat from basement in 2019. Great car. I drove the 1964 Special wagon. Back window very practical. Drove like a dream. Easy to parallel park.

My sister failed parallel parking twice in her sedan. Took the long and lovely Buick Special up to test & sailed right through. Dreamy power steering.
Practical design, sleek lines - perfection.

beautiful wagon .. the stylists during this period were so imaginative .. I.E. the vista roof (an Oldsmobile moniker) was a perfect example of that ingenuity.. these cars were new in the showroom when I was in first grade.. the parents of a buddy of mine at school bought one in two tone silver with a black roof and red interior - the wheel covers had a spinner design.. I’m not sure that the Buick rallye wheels were offered as an option or not on the station wagon although they look great. I used to own a 1970 Buick Estate Wagon (one year only body style for Buick) and the interior featured a similar looking western style embossed vinyl trim on all three seats.

Beautiful survivor wagon! Sad the “older woman” didn’t get the three seat version which would have included the 1/3 split second row bench for the “classic kids spectacular” experience! These were phenomenal entries to the wagon round-ups; roomy without being bulbous.
