- “Elvis” star Austin Butler spoke to “Extra’s” Melvin Robert after his Golden Globes win for Best Actor - Motion Picture - Drama. He opened up about thanking both Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks in his acceptance speech, revealing how Denzel actually vouched for him to get the part!
He is so centered and grounded and my prayer for him is that he can stay that way, calm in the center of this storm. But he certainly deserves the rewards and accolades for an amazing performance 👏

Also, RIP LMP. I’m glad she got to see her fathers memory and legacy cherished, respected and resurged in such a way. I’m also glad she got to go home to Graceland before finally going home.

It was not only one way to do a scene, it is about the truth. That is an acting lesson well learnt. Baz was the first to stand up and Lisa Maria and her mom were in tears! What a magical journey for Austin and such an emotional speech! You honored the legacy of Elvis like no one has ever done in 45+ years of him living in Heaven. Congratulations forever!
Don't forget people this is the same way Elvis got to the top. We should honor the people that take care of us at meaningful times.

it's like all crashing down at him and there's so much adrenaline already I just have this feeling that going to his hotel tonight Austin will just cry. He deserved this, and so much more, I just hope he can soak everything in and not be too overwhelmed! There's a constant noise that surrounds you as soon as you're the next best thing and a hit in Hollywood starlight, but at the same time, Butler is so grounded that I feel he has nothing to worry about even in his future sucessess.

Denzel Washington is a member (his father was an Elder and would travel to Memphis for the Holy Convocations) of the Church of God in Christ which is where the Assemblies of God came out of and Elvis and his parents were members of that second Pentecostal Holiness Church. ❤ (Brother Deacon) Denzel (whatever his is called at West Angeles) Washington presenting Austin Butler😮 with that Oscar…sweet!

.The movie was a C at best, and the acting was C+/B-. People only look at the similarities of Elvis, not the overall experience of being Elvis, just like many try to sing and sound like Elvis, but it's subpar at best and there is and will be only one Elvis. You can't copy that kind of talent, just like it is the same for Michael Jackson.

Austin will be in special series on Apple tv by Tom Hanks company called MASTERS of the AIR. I saw a clip of Austin and he sounded more like himself, very youthful a little bit southern. He's 31 and his voice will change even more. For dune 2 there's no telling what kind of voice they want him to use for Feyd. Feyd is not a nice guy.
