Rune Factory 5 only came out a few months ago here in the west... but Rune Factory 3 for the Nintendo DS has also been out here a few months ago in the west, and you should play that too.
I hope you guys enjoyed this first episode of my Rune Factory 5 perspective, impressions and gameplay! Very excited to finally play the game after all these years lol
Since I'm still uploading all the highlights from the Rune Factory 4 stream, I'm going to probably upload both Rune Factory 4 and 5 playthroughs at the same time, but put more emphasis on 4 to get that done to put all my focus on RF5 as soon as possible. So be sure to expect much more Rune Factory in the future!

I still feel it falls a bit short. It can't be helped. RF3 set a high predecent and RF4 solidified it. RF5 was born after the series was very solid AND it was a miracle birth (with the studio being bankrupt and all). Plus, while the two new protags look cute, I'm feeling a bit dissatisfied with their base design.
From RF1 to RF4 even TOD, all main characters are distinct from each other. Raguna was a brunet with dark eyes, Kyle was a red head (reddish brown hair) so are his children, Micah was a blonde with blue eyes, Aden has grey eyes, Sonja has pink hair, Lest is faded blond- silverish blonde with purple eyes, Frey has mint green hair and eyes.
Notice how the design varied based on hair colours? Well, Alice and Ares are blonde with same exact shade with each other and not that far away from Micah's color design. They're not distinct. They are the first to step out of the line of "Different and unique".
I was actually hoping for different hair colours, not blonde with blue eyes. Perhaps black hair? What about clear silver? Platinum? Distinct red (like Raven's)? Orange is doable too. My little sister also had the same problem as me when I showed her the trailer.
"Wait, they're blonde? Like Micah?" She didn't quite like it and told me that bluntly.
If we are being honest RF 4 was the pinnacle of Comfort gaming, I feel like RF 5 with how buggy it has been was a bit of a let down, The switch from 2d on a hand held to 3d on a handheld was a bit of a growing pain, Definitely a great game, but against RF 4 as a standard it leaves very much to be desired
Hina is my absolute favourite like, she’s super adorable and I love her friendship with the playable character :)))))

Bro, I recently was looking at weather to get rune factory 4 again or buy the newest one, I saw one of your other vids for rune factory 4 and looked at it, and my god do I love your commentary and editing lmao genuinely makes me laugh, that’s a sub form me!
The anime opening really reminds me of the persona games, gonna play the game blind, but I'm rooting for you lad, hopefully you'll still touch on tides of destiny (my first one before I realized this is a franchise)

It’s the Atelier Sophie VA?!? I ADORE the Atelier games! I’m going through Ryza 2 and RF4 at the same time.
I love rune factory. But this game runs so horribly I can't help but feel disappointed. animation and character designs are still great though!
Hoping the performance issues are fixed when it comes to pc
@@camplifi3d466 It's not sure. Normally a game like this would run well on Switch. If the game is poorly optimized in the first place, it's hard to imagine that it will do better on a later version.
Its bad/ lazy optimization. There are some graphically taxing games on the switch which run their games properly.
Eh, perhaps I just have a higher tolerance for stuff like this than most people. The frame drops only seem to happen to me when I warp to a completely different area suddenly, or when I'm fighting too many enemies at once. It's brief, but then it runs just fine afterwards.
As for load times, besides long as heck one you experience when loading a file, I'd take these over Frontier's load times. At least they CAN be quick at times, and you get to cover more ground before getting into another one.
Other than that though, I didn't have much to complain about.
But hey, here's hoping for a performance update one day.

I just wish I could marry Terry and have a shop again. Plus I miss the date system from 4. I liked being able to choose the location.
I dont know how far along you are, but have you dated your love interest after their story events? You can continue to date them and choose various locations and date reactions as well.

@@BlackSkarrow I’m in post game too! I still can’t choose the locations. Martin chooses them all, and barely anything happens. I liked it in Rune Factory 4 when you could eat at the diner, buy a gift at the general store or buy flowers.
But I’m mostly still frustrated with not being able to marry Terry. I’m willing to pay 100 dollars if it meant I could, honestly.
Palmo actually has the same voice actor as Porcoline.

Apparently RF5 might be coming to steam in July, I'm probably gonna keep an eye on this series and the game in general to see if I think it would be a good purchase
i wouldnt recommend it at full price maybe half price pretty disappointing entry in the series
But definately buy it on pc because switch version is almost unplayable.

I know I'm in a minority here, maybe even the only one, but I personally enjoyed this one quite a bit, to the point where I enjoy it more than 4. Idk, I just... don't have much of a desire to return to 4 and I don't know why. I bought the special version for the switch for the sole purpose of getting Margaret and Doug to appear, and nothing more. I mean, I *will* replay it at some point. It's still a goal of mine to marry all the marriage candidates in each game one day, now that I have the frame of mind to save scum instead of doing a clean playthrough each time like I was originally...😅
There are definitely some kinks in this game, but I found it was fun. Currently maximizing my second playthrough by dating everybody.
I wish the swapping character option actually made the game treat you as the other character. That means, if I ever dare go for 100%, I need to do all of this again with Alice. ._.
Why would you need to do another playthrough as Alice when there's same sex marriage in RF5?
@@Star1000120 The game keeps track of who you marry, and as what character in the projector. There are 24 slots there, one for each character as Ares, and one for Alice. That character changing option merely changes your appearance, just like RF4, but the game still treats you as whichever character you've started with.
So, for a true 100% file (or, if you simply want all those slots filled like I do) it requires that you marry everyone twice, once with each character.
It would've been nice if the game just kept track of whether or not you've married a character, and the cutscene changed depending on which character you were playing as when you viewed the memory in the projector.
I absolutely adore RF3&4. Despite that, RF5 just doesn't intrigue me enough to buy it

Agreed! Only 2 story arcs to cover the game and it leaves alot of unanswered questions about Ryker, Priscilla, Beatrice & Reinhart. I forgot Ludmilla too.

Late but regarding Margaret and Doug something ain't right Margaret dosent leave at all with Doug barely unless you bring them with you I get a feeling everyone in RF4 is dead given the time period 4 and 5 is at Margaret and Doug have a long lifespan dunno about earthmates but if Margaret and Doug moved means the RF4 are dead most of em soooo yeah.
For story and plot I prefer RF4 but for 3d model characters and combat definitely RF5. Too bad you can't married certain hot widow or else this game will be 10/10 (Most scores came from Cheep-cheep sandals I have to wear in every cutscenes Lol.)
