Thank you for sharing this. I'm no stranger to chiropractic treatments but have been unable to go due to UK lockdown. I did these stretches which popped a painful frozen shoulder and the pain has pretty much gone. A slow hug and roll of my back and everything has relaxed and I now have minimal pain 👍
Bless you, I used to always crack my neck in the way I shouldn't (and I knew it was bad but I didn't know what else to do and my neck gets very stiff) The last excercise you showed actually allowed me to get that sensation without it feeling like I was risking my life haha. Thank you so much! I will 100% use your recommended strech from now on and you just gained yourself a follower! Fantastic!
You are imbalanced, & the question is, is it by injury or prodominance choice? Stand before a wall, make sure your bite is even, place your tongue forward between your your middle teeth, then bite. Stand before a wall (toes pointing to the wall). Then raise yourself up 5 times, come down to your heels then back up. This should even your body a& shoulders now try the neck stretches.
Using the hand towel works good for me but the other is a very nice stretch.. I can't tell you how much I look forward to and enjoy your videos.. I visit my local chiropractor as needed and also try to get a professional massage every month or so but being able to get this type of relief at home really helps between visits. Thanks for all you are doing to keep us feeling good!

im glad you mentioned that risk. when we generally crack our necks, we usually only hit 1-2 spots instead of the whole shabang..thus creating more issues down the road very shortly. quick relief but it is overall not good doing it on your own

Thank you Dr. Rowe for this video! Last year I started working out on the heavy bag/punching bag to lose weight and get in better shape. It is definitely brutal on my whole body (especially being in my mid 40s) but more so on my neck area. This neck stretch technique you start to demonstrate at about the 4:25 mark works amazing and has been a game changer for me! I use it before and after my workout and it helps tremendously! I no longer have the neck pain/soreness like I use to before finding your video! Thank you so much!
OMG THANK YOU VERY MUCH this gave me some amount of relief I have been having nechaches for the past 7 years and all the doctors told that I have stiff muscles and need to do exercises Recently the pain started to get worse and it started paining around my collarbone and neck region and the shoulder neck region on the right and left....the collarbone-neck pain was the worst one These exercise helped me in the shoulder-neck region(the region btwn the shoulder and the neck) pain but the collarbone-neck region (the region right above the collarbone) does not seem to go away.. Any tips on that would be really helpful as I am having a hard time concentrating on my studies BTW THANK YOU VERY MUCH...THIS HELPED ME A LOT WITH THE SHOULDER-NECK REGION PAIN
Thanks Michael. Strangely enough I can get neck relief by scuba diving. I think that the buoyancy of the facemask filled with air and the negative buoyancy of a lead weight belt stretches the neck and allows greater motion supported in liquid environment.
How about this for neck pain. 1 - stand up straight and try to keep good posture. 2- The neck stores a lot of tension and stress, this could be psychological - if you are unfulfilled in a particular area of your life work on it the stress will shift. 3 - sleep with one pillow. 4 - drink plenty of water. 5 - take your mind off your neck and trying to crack it (you will make the problem worse) 6 - exercise.
Im a russian, and im little understand you, but i like all your videos cause they understanding without words I had a bad back ... before i find your channel. just thank you
No snap cracklepop. But it sure felt good ! I have fibromyalgia, osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, and a bunch of neck pain and headaches. I’ve looked at maybe 100 videos for neck pain. this is one of the 3 that actually helped. Thanks!!
I can crack the left side of my neck very easily with just tilting my head towards my right ear, but I'm feeling the tension on my right side, it doesn't pop at all like the left side, but the 2nd stretch you showed ke does help with stretching it out and giving that range of motion to be able to tilt more to the left. Thanks
Thank you this was great. I tried the towel method and was thinking, yeah not going to happen then a nice crack happened. I'm currently very far away from a professional chiropractor, so this will get me by until I get back to the US.
This is a great video. I'm so locked up that it didn't happen for me, I'll keep working on it though. I recently found your channel and I'm excited to try these out . I'm definitely a chiropractors dream client. They could retire from me and my issues.
Hello Dr. Rowe. Thank you for the video. However, I have a question though. When I tried the second method, I tilted my head to the right and felt a blockage on the left side of my neck, which prevented to really stretch out and there was a slight, small pain too on the left side of my neck. But when I tilted my head to the left, there was no blockage. What seems to be the cause of this problem?
Just putting the arm behind my back and then tipping the head it popped in a Second. I have had a migraine all day so anything I can do for some relief I'll try.
Great video thanks you, I just tried both of these stretches and it felt amazing, as I’ve been doing the stretch at the start of this video for years. But I’ll definitely be changing my bad habits, thanks again and have a great day

While a good neck stretch is rarely a bad thing, as someone with disc deterioration between C6 and C7, I didn't get much of anything new out of these exercises.
I tried these and they did almost nothing but make me feel where the pressure was. I went back to a gentle rotating movement and everything released with no problem and the relief was instant. I won't be listening to you advice in the future.
I definitely notice some relief, relaxation, and mobility. I don't crack or pop easy, so no reason to force it. It there a video for hips? I played golf competitively for 15 years and I don't have an equal amount of range of motion on both sides.
Is cracking neck without using your hands is also as bad as with hands? Cause I've been doing it for years now and it made me curious if it's as bad as doing it with hands.
Dr. Is this safe to do with cervical instability on C1 C2 and C3? All the exercises i have been given have made symptoms worse. Gentle cracking doesn't make me feel any better, but it releases tension, plus my neck cracks on its own all the time just with movement. Hot and cold therapy is the only therapy that works for the pain, plus not moving my neck beyond a very slim range.
I've been cracking my neck for years now due to issues I have with it and I do it the way you say not too. Is there a chance I've caused myself to possibly having a stroke even if I quit doing it the wrong way?
