I made this tonight! However I did it a bit different……used dehydrated sliced potatoes and soaked them in water first. Layered everything in a 2qt glass baking dish. Added 1/2 c water to soup and milk mixture. Used raw cheddar. Baked in 400 degree oven for 45 min. Was PERFECT!!!!!! This was soooo good and delicious…..I’m going to attempt it with freeze dried potatoes, beef, cheese and milk. This may turn into a fave pantry meal!
thank you very much for the recipe and giving your opinion on certain items you use, I was thinking about the mandolin . the recipe is definitely worth trying and the meat could be changed very easily on what a person feels like having. great idea with the ground beef and if a person feels like alternating to diced ham or adding spinach you can . thank you
I make this in the oven! Although I season the meat and sauce as well as salt the potato layers. I forgot to salt the potatoes one time and it was extremely noticeable. The secret to an amazing sauce is 1/8 tsp curry powder(along with the other seasonings). Trust me on this one! I'm going to love making this in the slow cooker! Thanks for the idea!
You can also buy the Tele milk, shredded cheese, it is really good. I’ve tried Sargento, which is good too, but Tamu is basically like freshly shredded cheese, and it doesn’t have all that weird powdery stuff that grocery brands do.
Use tortilla chips instead of potatoes, add taco seasoning to the ground meat, and substitute a can of Rotel for one of the cream of mushroom soup. Tex Mex version!
Not many people know about turning the tab of pull-top cans to help with opening them. Yes, one has to be careful of the edges in some of the smaller tougher cans but a great way to get cans open. Just thought I'd let you know I noticed how you opened the cans.
I'm unable to find the link to the cheese grater you mention in the video. There are a couple on Amazon which look like the one in the video but I'd like to know which one specifically you used. Great recipe!
We have 1 qt & 1.5 qt crock pots. There's just us, 2 "older" folks so I'll have to figure out how to scale this. Reading the wonderful helpful comments. Many of us read comments for hints and tips. There's always some gems. TY.
The recipe looks good, will try. As the the meat masher, a fork or a potato masher work just as well, and you don't have to go out and buy a meat masher.
Hi! New Subscriber. May I make a suggestion? Maybe at the beginning of your video let everyone know how to click off the ad that pops up on the bottom of your video, so everyone stops complaining they cant watch you. Love the crockpot recipes so far and have saved 3 that I've watched. Thanks for the recipes! 😊
When the ad pops up, tap the 3 dots you see in the right hand top corner. Another pop up will appear and chose "dismiss". The ad will go away@territimmerman140
You don't like eating mushrooms??? But there sooooo delicious when you saute them in olive oil and butter and put coarse salt and black pepper. There so delicious and very tasty. I love mushrooms on my steak or in my pasta sauce. Great added flavor.
Im a first time viewer and subscriber. I really like your presentation and the recipe but the sponsor or sales sign is bothersome, distracting and prevents us from se eing what youre doing.
I'm not sure why but TH-cam isn't allowing us to goto Walmart using your links, all the other one's that aren't Walmart work. Message I get when I click it is, TH-cam can't open this link. Your not the only channel that this happens on. Just an fyi.
Thanks for watching! Here is the full recipe www.eatingonadime.com/crock-pot-hamburger-potato-casserole-recipe/
Can you freeze it
@@kathyreichard7029yes can
Looks like you wound up with a lot of dirty dishes anyway.
@@EatingonaDime thank you so much
I made this yesterday and there isn't one bite left! Great recipe that even my children will eat. Thanks.
So glad everyone loved it!
This looks delish! Topped with bacon, sour cream and chives would be tasty, too!
Yes, more fat is better!
I have to add a little chopped onion, a dash of garlic powder and pepper.. This is going on my list for dinner this week. Thank you!!
This is really good when adding sliced onion also!

I always use cream of celery soup in recipes. Will try this dish soon!

Yes! Recipes are not carved in stone. They are just a framework, you can customize it to fit your own taste.

Hell yes. Don't folks review before they post?
I love that version, would make a much more flavorful dish..... although the tortillas would get soggy, no? Feedback appreciated
Do you have a simple recipe for Chicken and Dumplings in a crock pot? Your vids are awesome!
I love my shredder! it makes life so much easier and if you have the other attachments, you can even slice veggies!!!
Ooh this sounds so good right now!! I’d either add corn or green beans!! Yummy
Campbell's now makes a "Beefy Mushroom soup ", I strain out the mushrooms ,it adds a much richer beef flavor to soups and dishes like this.
Oh I will have to try that.
Thanks for sharing. Making it tonight. Looks simple and easy
What is the name of your cheese grater I'm sorry I couldn't find it on your products you were using in this video 😊
Looks delicious but missing onion.Love the crockpot videos. Thanks
I bought one of those shredders a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it!
I'm going to cook this.looks delicious.

I do all in oven as warm house also
Add sliced onion and jalapenos; both an absolute must. Use real mushrooms with cream of celery. Could also use onion soup mix.
Great ideas !
I love that suggestion!
Looks Delicious! I’m new to your site! Sure enjoyed your presentation & look forward to watching more videos! Thanks for sharing !

This is good made with breakfast sausage.
Any suggestions on a cream of mushroom soup that doesn't have yeast added to it?
looks worth a try.

Great it looks great. Thanks for😊
What's the equivalent to using bagged potatoes if that's all you have at the moment?
Thank you!

I don't own a mandlon slicer
Please show us exactly what kind to buy.

Omg!!! I thought that was only MY pet peeve! Like.. you, like, know what i mean??
Thank you for telling others about shredding your own cheese! The crud they put in shredded cheese nowadays is terrible!!
So much for one clean dish. Several bowls and other dishes used to make this one dish recipe.
Do you use lean hamburger
I would add a package of brown gravy to the soup
12.32 did anyone else notice the orb fly by
Fox news indicated another country is gathering info on us. Must have been a fly-by.
Looks good 😊
Made this tonight for dinner but I used cream of chicken soup and we thought it was good.
YUMMY YUMMY 😋

I live alone. If I make it, can I freeze some?
Don't wanna freeze due to drained meat. It will be dry if you try to resurrect it.
@@misfitbrit1989 Thank you for the information. I really wanted to try it!
You also can put paper towels in between the top
❤ You Need To Add Some Onions It Would Make It Even Better
Yumm!!
I have not watched the entire video yet but I have left over scalloped potatoes I'm going to use up
That would be great!
Mom a bit of a Hunny Bunny...
👍👍 fantastic
Add sliced onions in the middle
How about adding some onions!
MIne came out completely watery. Even after I let it set for an hour, and drain as much liquid as I could, still watery. It became soup.
Would love your videos if we could actually see them without the promos blocking too much of what you are doing
Looks good. I will try it. But your rationale for useing the slow cooker because it saves on dishes doesn't quite fly. 😊
I think it would be better baked anyway.
Yes I prefer oven for casseroles
Can you move a little quicker?
I added onions and black pepper, because why not.
Come cook with me. I'm preparing food with Ted only on TH-cam
You said only one pot to clean up. I see five
You can cook ground turkey with beef bullion and lose the turkey taste
Always call it draining the liquid
they call it teflon!! LOL
Wouldve been better with potato skins.
"Easy to clean"? Show me a video of you hand washing the shredder. Same with the slicer/chopper. Throw a box shredder in the demo too.
Some people will complain about anything
