Got into the hobby with a T-Maxx 3.3. Nitro will always hold a place in my heart. Once you know what you're doing with the tuning you just can't beat running for hours on end and constantly refueling instead of stopping to charge your batteries.
Those two are the most satisfying thing to listen to in a race.
The nitro smoke is burning my eyes. And my nose. And my throat. I can almost feel the blisters from the starter string too. I love it!
I upgraded to electric start on mine and no more blisters or broken pull starters!
Pat: “is there a mosquito in ‘ere?”

My 1st and only experience with Nitro RC's was with a Losi 3.4 Nitro engine (OEM Losi 8ight-T engine) and that thing has been an absolute BREEZE to use, start, and tune. Maybe I've just been extremely lucky but that motor runs like a DREAM! Unfortunately they're now discontinued and Losi offers zero support for them now.

You know Kev you got me thinking about nitro again also. I got a starter box sitting in the shed for a year now, some unopened 30% nitro and I’m really contemplating getting a 1/8 nitro buggy to play around with. Thanks to your great videos and showing nitro can be a lot of fun still 👍🇨🇦👋

Your having a hard time starting it and getting good low end punch because the lsn needs to be leaned out
Kevin never breaks them in properly, and he sucks at tuning the lsn and hsn lmao. He just leans the thing out, the thing is, he actually never runs a nitro car long enough to break one. Hes got dozens of them lmao.
Ian Darrah yeah lean the low (more power and stop stalling and smoke) and richen the high because it’s pinging like crazy

When u shift it pretty much sounds as if its in the same gear, LOL! It doesn't look to reliable, but cor does it seem to be a lot of fun!

Great vid Kev! I get enough drama from my 2-strokes, always thought nitro was that little bit more frustrating. It's fun to tinker and get things working, but as usual, the X-maxx shows just how user friendly electric is. Bash hard!

@@MaxtheSirenHunter Oh definitely. You'll have a lot of fun. I've been into RC cars since 1980 off and on. I just recently went to Lipo cars and there is no comparison to the old batteries. The only bad things are that things break more and get hot. Also Lipo batteries need need a bit of babysitting with low voltage cut off and proper storage charge. But the sped on my Slash and Arrma Typhon 6s is insane. Im looking to go even faster and do some speed runs.

If that was broken in proper (not anything near to how you break them in) and you knew how to tune it that thing would run pretty nasty. And just an FYI, you can’t refill the fuel tank while engine is running, you loose all fuel pressure as soon as you open the tank

When your cars leans out when fuel tank is low, Put a longer fuel line from your exhaust to the fuel tank. this will help it out alot.
you could join a drifting competition with that x-maxx ;)

Had the same problem than your Hobao but on my custom E-Maxx yesterday. I dont know why it broke,... maybe because it is 15 years old.
