Our business was started in 1997 when two R/C rivals met & joined forces. We haven't raced R/C in a long time, but we haven't forgotten our roots. Enjoy!
8th scale nitro on-road is the ORIGINAL RC class--the first production cars came out in 1969-1970. This is still the hardest, most expensive, most technical and arguably most exciting race class in all of RC. No rubber tires, foam only, HUGE downforce from the Can-Am style bodies, quick release wheels. It is one class I never tried but want to a some point. The other oldest class is 1/12 on road; that class came to be because of weather in the midwest. Racers still wanted to race in the winter but unlike Southern California they couldn't race outdoors year round. So a few guys took a small chassis, rechargeable ni-cad batteries and motors from a Dustbuster rechargeable vacuum cleaner and they wound up running them on gym floors and office carpet indoors. 1/12 scale electric wound up becoming the MOST difficult electric class to master! 1/8 scale nitro on-road and 1/12 scale electric on-road are the grandaddy of all rc car racing. For those that think these are just toys, my latest Capricorn 1/10 scale electric touring car is probably $2000 soup to nuts, not including tool, batteries, chargers, radio. The top drivers make good money and are paid to travel to international races sometimes up to 180 days out of the year traveling. RC racing is ACTUAL racing--it is an ADDICTION but it isn't easy; if it were easy everyone would do it!
My first rc was the Tamiya sand scourcher,Fox,Porsche 959,Toyota bruiser 4x4 then I bought a few Kyosho nitro buggies and a formula racer and a few thunder tiger ,nouva faor ,venom gp bikes... 1/5,1/8,1/10/1/12 scale! but what started it all for me was my cox teather planes and thimble racers!! RC's take the stress out of everyday life and keeps us young at heart and smiles on our faces!!!
I used to race in slot car competitions and from which I manage to earn a trophy. It required a lot of concentration. But in this category the cars are not guided in said slots. So the skill to drive here requires another level of concentration. And good eyes too! Simply amazing! 👀
Wow, I really really miss the old days. I raced at Ranch Pit Shop and Outlaw R/C in San Bernardino. The first R/C race I ever seen was in Abilene Tx at the mall parking lot. They're started the cars with a upside down Bicycle spinning wheel. My first Gas Car, a Jerobee 049 CanAm style car. Back in the 90's I raced Associated RC 500's and Deltas...2WD...Ron Paris OS Motors, Kraft Box Radios with a wheel. Then Kraft/KO pistols grips, Airtronics,,, Then Ranch brough the Serpents in...and it changed everything...Most of us were 12th scale racers too...
Grande Dario! Ancora una volta l’Italia davanti a tutti! 🇮🇹Dovrebbero fare una Race of Champions del modellismo con te e Ongaro nella stessa squadra. Non ce ne sarebbe per nessuno😎
If you slow it down to custom 85 percent it is more watchable, anything slower and the announcers start to sound drunk, which is fun also. but 100 percent is just to darn fast. IMO.
What a magnificent track! I need to get into this hobby. I remember many years ago, there was a nitro world race in my hometown of Cincinnati. Unfortunate that I was still in the army, but hey! Now I have a good job with disposable income.
You have to kind of look ahead peripherally apex-to-apex. Eventually, you get so used to it, that your car seems to appear to slow down (table-tennis is similar and badminton). Then when you look at the likes of F1, those cars appear to look very slow. With the exception I'd say of high performance hill climb race cars running Judd V10 engines.. and time attack circuit race cars E.V. high performance cars such as McMurtry Spéirling. Now you need to look at 1/12 LMP modified cars.!
I can't imagine the cost required to maintain a top quality car and keeping it in proper running condition with top of the line parts and equipment along with paying for travel to competition and the entry fees. You must have to have some money to be able to participate at the top level of this sport/hobby because I can't imagine the tens of thousands of dollars that goes into a whole season of racing.
This is the Formula One of Rc car racing, all the drivers in this A main race are professional Rc race drivers. This is their job and are sponsored, some have multiple sponsorship. The manufacturers supply most of if not all of these drivers👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Worked with a pro at hobby shops in east bay area around 04to7, Roger serafin, forgot how to spell it. Sheldon's and hobby town. 1/8th scale nitro pro.
Wow I didn't know they went that fast. They look like they are attached to the track. Might have to get into this hobby as well now. Still surprised that rc is not popular enough. It's awesome to be able to do so much with a car without the risk of serious injury. I'm not including dumb mistakes and driving.
Unfortunately, it's not as popular as it was 1980's (ditto slot car racing). There are way more RC racing classes and youngsters are drawn to computer games. The idea of reading through instructions and assembling a kit is apparently too much for most them.
Man these comments are full of Salty whiners. I ended up watching the full race, thought the commentary and presentation was pretty great for an rc race that long. The driving looked top notch.

This is so amazing. I was 35 when I discovered RC three years ago. So many lost years. Doing my best to share this amazing hobby with all my pals.
Naaa it is unfortunate it took so long for you to find but I'd say enjoy the heck out of it, welcome to the very fun rc world 👌

I used to do this in the off season when I was racing motorcycles. It’s such good racing.

Wow. Brain-melting 60 minutes of racing at that pace! 💀🔥
This was so much fun to watch! the commentary really kept the viewer engaged on every lap! keeping this type of focus for 60 minutes is incredible!
Commentary is excellent! Amazing coverage!
Seroiusly, I've never seen RC coverage like this, very cool.
