I'm very impressed with how they are squeezing this large coaster in to that section of the park without having to remove much of anything other than Buccaneer Battle. I think it looks like the best layout yet for a B&M Dive under 200ft in North America. The interaction with the midway and placement of the drop is going to have a massive impact. I'm not crazy about the color scheme or the apparent lack of theming, but the blue color might be an homage to the former Shockwave Arrow Megalooper. These are not the colors I would have envisioned for a demonic themed ride. The GP will love this, and Great America is in desparate need of another high-capacity attraction.

Rakshasas were most often depicted as shape-shifting, fierce-looking, enormous monstrous-looking creatures, with two fangs protruding from the top of the mouth and having sharp, claw-like fingernails. They were shown as being mean, growling beasts, and as insatiable man-eaters that could smell the scent of human flesh.
Walking down that midway and seeing this monster towering over you is going to be INSANE!!!! Excellent job Great America! So proud this is coming to my home park!!
If you look at a lot of cedar fair parks, theres a lot of overlap with the coasters which allows them to maximize their space. Six flags, and especially great america, lack that. Everything is in its own plot of land with too much free space around it, and most of it encompassing land away from the public. The only track currently in or near any of the midway is demon. Six flags has inefficiently used a lot of the space it has, and hopefully with this new cedar point management era that will be remedied.
Love the color scheme and how they were able to fit this in. I also love how they made the ride go above the midway so guests can look above and see people dropping down
It is 48 years old and it doesn’t always have the longest lines. But the park knows how historic it is and it’s been in the park since opening along with Whizzer. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s a classic that I hope can stick around a little longer.
This coaster actually looks good with the record-breaking 96° drop and 5 inversions! No Mid-Course is so nice and this ride looks so fast paced also. So excited to do this next year! Looks like it could be better than almost all dive coasters. (Maybe)
@@joyride-coastersYukon is not weak at all. The dive is insane along with the Immelmann just for the sheer height and speed. The loop is also very forceful but it falls flat after the MCBR. This new one definitely has some unique elements for a dive coaster and the lack of a MCBR and second drop should help with overall pacing. I certainly think it will be one of the better dive coasters.
Thank you Great America for not tearing down Demon! My first looping roller coaster that I rode back in 1999 and one of the rides that made me passionate about roller coasters to begin with will still be standing. I was so certain they were going to trash Demon for that plot of land. I am amazed they resisted the temptation and still managed to add a sizeable coaster right next to it.
It is kinda funny that they don't specify the records only applying for B&M dive coasters in the video and they wanna call it record breaking lol... Looks fun tho, hope it rides better than other recent B&M dives.
When they said "most inversions" I literally had to stop and wonder how they managed 15+ inversions on a dive coaster that compact and then someone clarified "on a dive coaster"
It's so refreshing to see B&M putting unique element combos on a Dive Coaster, those final 2 inversions look like the demonic knot on damonen! It's also refreshing to be excited about a new B&M, it's been awhile.

You’ll have fun it’s my home park. My one complaint with the park is they need to fix American Eagle it’s such a classic it doesn’t race anymore and before one side would go backwards and backwards American Eagle has got to be a top 10 coaster experience for me. A wooden coaster shaking and everything backwards was truly a unique experience.
@@Brian-bv7ih Eagles red side recently was testing so it might have both sides running again after years of only doing one. Unsure about racing but both sides are definitely up and going so there is hope.
A blue monster ! (homage to Shockwave ??, nah.. Most of you weren't even born until after it was gone in 2002. LOL). This is EXACTLY what G.A. needed. Great use of space. Looks like a total blast ! Something to look forward to in year 49 of me going to GA !!

And seeing that the track is blue, and that this is the closest thing to a large-scale megalooper the park will get once again; a tribute to the late Shockwave, if you will. And that 96-deg. drop is gonna be nuts! As far as stats go, the converted numbers for anyone outside of the U.S. (this means you too, Canada. LOL!!! 🤣) Height: 180 ft. = 55 m Drop: 171 ft. = 52 m Track length: 3239 ft. = 987 m Max. speed: 67 mph = 108 km/h
The less attention paid to TMNT Shellraiser, the better. It was my second Gerstlauer. The first was the spinner right before. I was shocked at how bad both were. The spinning coaster didn't hurt, but every time you went down a drop the car would start to shake real bad. Shellraiser just hurt really bad with this terrible vibration that went through my neck the whole time. I hurt for an hour and 1/2 afterwards. Sorry to go off on a tangent.
@@shamrock6975 From what I understand, something went bad with the concrete pad that all the columns are connected to. Apparently, Sandy's Bronco also has a vibration. It and the Intamin halfpipe were closed. The spinner had an absolutely fantastic layout. It just kept going on and on and on. I just didn't get the shaking. It's kind of sad because I'm from Maryland and Gerstlauer is one of the major companies represented by Ride Entertainment out of Maryland. I kind of feel bad for them.

I watched someone's live stream during the press conference at 5am this morning. The Demon is safe, the kiddie rides are safe, and the go karts are safe as well. This ride will be unique for the park as it will be crossing over the midway 2 or 3 times so people can walk under the ride.
Looks amazing and perfect for the park. I’m sure enthusiasts will complaint about it being a dive coaster, but the layout looks legit, and this will draw in the crowds, which should be the primary goal of any new coaster.
I wasn’t really excited about a dive coaster until I saw this reveal. Layout looks awesome, doesn’t have a lame mid course slowdown, they squeezed it into a small space, lots of pathway crossovers, and they didn’t have to remove anything major to make room for it. Great America seems to do a great job fitting large coasters in small spaces. Xflight sits on a former shoot the chutes space, Goliath on a sub 100 foot B&M standup plot, Maxx Force didn’t require removals, and now this thing sandwiched between Demon and X-Flight. Top tier six flags park 🙂
Enthusiast here: no complaints. I love mini dives like Emperor and Iron Menace. They get straight to the point. I'll definitely be putting Great Adventure on my 2025 calendar.
Ok this is pretty new for a dive coaster... I was busy looking at all the rolls one after the other and didn't even see there were 2 loop elements one after the other.

I was for sure they were going to take out the go karts to be able to fit the coaster into this spot but surprisingly it looks like they utilized some space over by demon where the old scare maze was and as far as I can see the coaster only occupies the Buccaneer Battle plot. I think the dive will be very popular with the general public and that it should have good capacity and burn though its line decently well. I love the layout. 5 inversions is amazing and no morcourse means your are going to be flying through those final elements! The one thing I'm not a fan of is the yellow and blue paint scheme...thats definitely not the color I envisioned for a demonic themed rollercoaster.
The only way to fit a coaster that large into the center of the park is removing the go karts, Buccaneer Bay and going across the path using the small area over by Demon. What I'm waiting for is what is going in where Roaring Rapids is because that plot of land is big and they can go behind Yankee Clipper, Aquaman and all the way over to Goliath over the maintenance buildings at the back. Or they could take it to the front and wrap around Superman and across the front of the park like Gatekeeper at Cedar Point. We'll get a giga eventually.
I definitely prefer the new ones. As a bigger and taller guy, the old ones always dug into my shoulders. The vest restraints (as long as the vest doesn’t lock in place) are much more comfortable
Only a few big parks left for that teased 300ft Dive to go. I want to say it'll go to either Magic Mountain, Carowinds or Kings Island. I will be completely and utterly shocked if it ends up at the Bastard Child Six Flags America.
Z-Force(Intamin, B&M and Giovanola) and Iron Wolf(B&M) were not fun. Deja Vu(Vekoma) was decent when it worked. If they would have kept Shockwave they could have gotten away with removing Demon. Now they can't remove Demon, American Eagle or Whizzer or the public will go off.
I was disappointed by Valravn. And i think it's all because of assigned seating. They put me in row 3, and I felt absolutely nothing on the drop. The vests don't help. It was closed on day one of my trip, and it did open on day two, but it had a gigantic line. So I only had the patience to wait one time.
@@RY30DM I didn't put this quite right. I wasn't excited to ride valraven, I was excited after I got on it. I was also in the third row and I thought the view at the top was utterly magnificent. Then the drop was good and the rest of the ride I thought was very good. Completely exceeded my expectations for a dive coaster, but it was also my first one.
perfect addition to my homepark that skyline is alright going to like even better now that we have 5 B&M and Deom is not leaving either so it's a win win for sure.
It cracks me up with B&M. It's almost as if they flat out refuse to do anything BUT the immelmann as the first element after the drop. Any other element seems to be strictly prohibited. I think B&M's dive loops are far greater than their immelmanns. Other than that, I'm sure it will be a fun ride!
I’ll excuse it for this particular dive because of how small the plot of land is here. Took a lot of creativity to squeeze this in where they did. The park also has a big dive loop on Goliath so that element is still in the park.
If I’m not mistaken, this is the longest ground-up coaster Six Flags has added to a park since El Toro in 2006. Exciting to see Six Flags going beyond that $15 million price tag again.
This looks great has potential to be the best dive coaster, it kind of reminds me of alpin fury a little bit with all the zero g rolls. Fingers crossed it is smooth!
If anything, I'm in the Los Angeles area and the closest B&M diver to me is Emperor at SWSD. And looking at this thing makes me equally jealous. Rakshasa is gonna rip!
I’m just happy they’re getting a new B&M coaster. Raging Bull and Superman are good and all, however Superman is a clone, meaning you know what to expect, making Raging Bull hold its own.
Needs much more than that. I was recently up there and the place is now nasty dirty rundown compared to what it was like 30 years ago. That park used to be beautiful. The water and landscaping used to be immaculate. Now it's just gross.
Five B&M's.... Should have gone for the Giga while there was still room left to do it. They could have gotten a variance from the city like they did for this new dive coaster that is over the maximum 125' limit for Gurnee. Guess they just wanted another family coaster. /sarcasm

I'm not a big fan of B&M Dives for the most part, but this looks more like an old-fashioned B&M Floorless coaster in its layout. Probably going to wind up being the best dive out there.

Looks like the 7-seater trains are here to stay. I think they can go more intense with 7, than with 8 or 10 seats.

What I'm waiting for is what is going in where Roaring Rapids is because that plot of land is big and they can go behind Yankee Clipper, Aquaman and all the way over to Goliath over the maintenance buildings at the back. Or they could take it to the front and wrap around Superman and across the front of the park like Gatekeeper at Cedar Point. We'll get a giga eventually.
I already know that this is going to be one of the best dive coasters thankful because it's at my home park
As a proud Illinoisan, I am glad my state is finally getting a dive coaster.
Only thing is that the lines for this coaster are going to be overkill.
B&m dive coasters are not the same since they put the new restraints . I won’t be excited unless I see the old restraints pop up
I definitely prefer the new ones. As a bigger and taller guy, the old ones always dug into my shoulders. The vest restraints (as long as the vest doesn’t lock in place) are much more comfortable

I’m thrilled my home park is getting another B&M. Great America has had a great string of fun coasters, at least in my opinion.
Z-Force(Intamin, B&M and Giovanola) and Iron Wolf(B&M) were not fun. Deja Vu(Vekoma) was decent when it worked. If they would have kept Shockwave they could have gotten away with removing Demon. Now they can't remove Demon, American Eagle or Whizzer or the public will go off.
This looks pretty amazing for a dive coaster. First one I've actually been excited to ride since Valravn.
I was disappointed by Valravn. And i think it's all because of assigned seating. They put me in row 3, and I felt absolutely nothing on the drop. The vests don't help. It was closed on day one of my trip, and it did open on day two, but it had a gigantic line. So I only had the patience to wait one time.
@@RY30DM I didn't put this quite right. I wasn't excited to ride valraven, I was excited after I got on it. I was also in the third row and I thought the view at the top was utterly magnificent. Then the drop was good and the rest of the ride I thought was very good. Completely exceeded my expectations for a dive coaster, but it was also my first one.
Looks super solid...but damn thought this cedar fair merger would give them the cajones to install a giga-dive when it said record breaking 😅
This was all cemented long before the merger.

perfect addition to my homepark that skyline is alright going to like even better now that we have 5 B&M and Deom is not leaving either so it's a win win for sure.

It cracks me up with B&M. It's almost as if they flat out refuse to do anything BUT the immelmann as the first element after the drop. Any other element seems to be strictly prohibited.
I think B&M's dive loops are far greater than their immelmanns. Other than that, I'm sure it will be a fun ride!
Yeah the diving loops are better IMO
I’ll excuse it for this particular dive because of how small the plot of land is here. Took a lot of creativity to squeeze this in where they did. The park also has a big dive loop on Goliath so that element is still in the park.

World’s first dive coaster with an actual layout
If I’m not mistaken, this is the longest ground-up coaster Six Flags has added to a park since El Toro in 2006. Exciting to see Six Flags going beyond that $15 million price tag again.
I mean X-Flight is only 240ft shorter and that was built in 2012 and is in the same park.
This looks great has potential to be the best dive coaster, it kind of reminds me of alpin fury a little bit with all the zero g rolls. Fingers crossed it is smooth!

I’m just happy they’re getting a new B&M coaster. Raging Bull and Superman are good and all, however Superman is a clone, meaning you know what to expect, making Raging Bull hold its own.

Needs much more than that. I was recently up there and the place is now nasty dirty rundown compared to what it was like 30 years ago. That park used to be beautiful. The water and landscaping used to be immaculate. Now it's just gross.
And I hope this finally cuts a path through the middle of the park

I'm not a big fan of B&M Dives for the most part, but this looks more like an old-fashioned B&M Floorless coaster in its layout. Probably going to wind up being the best dive out there.
