i'm a blockhead since day 1 in 86 and i'm now 49 yep same age is Joe i grew up along with them through their music and seen them in concert and wow you should do a video of them now
Nkotb please go girl pretty song love songs joey McIntyre cute guys Donnie Wahlberg cute young Jordan knight cute Jonathan knight cute l love you new kids on the block
It is cool that you and not your wife is the BlockHead. I have been a fan since the mid 80s I was actually in high school, so I am close to their ages. But my husband just rolls his eyes when I mention them. But he still dated me after I talked non stop about meeting NKOTB on the Coca Cola Magic Cruise (my sister was one of 40 out of 440 winners on their ship for the whole trip) on our very 1st date. I was nervous. He thought it was a neat trip for me to spend with my younger sister and her best friend when I drove us all to Hershy PA for our 30 year Cincert Celebration and we had 6th row seats for The Mixed Tape Tour 2019. I really enjoy your videos. Again it is great seeing a guys reaction to their songs. I also like seeing your wife's reaction to you. Lol.
I only discovered their first album recently, and the whole album is fantastic, i think it's stronger than Hangin tough, i liked the Preppy look better, lol.
One video is like a cheesy cheap sitcom and the other like the cool boy band 😂 You can tell the First was released before the album, when the label had no faith (and budget) for the group, and the other one when the song became a #1 hit and the tough guys concept was presented At least that’s what I think, the rest of the singles have similar videos.
Not sure I'd call this a reaction video. He is really knowledgeable of everything which is cool and she didn't have any "reaction" to seeing the video at all nor to anything he was saying, just said "cool" generically
She hit it on the knob: "They seem kind of young to be singing this type of song..." That was my first reaction as well when I first heard it but the song was done so well and produced and sang so well by the guys. It's a classic!
Well... they were the white New Edition. Maurice Starr was behind both groups. Similar to what Lou Pearlman did to Backstreet Boys and NYSNC, he played with their money and New Edition left. Maurice said he could create another group, so he did and they were marketed to black stations. Actually this song was played on the "urban contemporary" station I listened to back then. I got the 45! It worked on this 9 year old who was already a big fan of New Edition then. They too give credit to New Edition being first as well as BSB and NSYNC. It's all R&B marketed as pop.
New Kids were marketed to EVERY popular station, they outsold New Edition by a LOT so they're not a "copy." Copies are cheap knock-offs, in other words they're not any good and don't sell. Boyz II Men would've been an example of a "copy" if again, they DIDN'T outsell the group you think they copy, but they literally took their NAME from New Edition. Pop is short for POPULAR so R&B has always been on the pop charts, it's all the same thing. The only thing that separates genres is the instruments and how they're played.
@@radicalreactions1633 nowhere did I say they were a copy. It isn't opinion that Maurice Starr started NKOTB after NE left him. Their first album if you listen to it is definitely the same material Starr used with NE. "Please Don't Go Girl" was the first single from the second album and was the only song from the album marketed to black radio. They even played the Appollo. I didn't say they were only marketed to black radio as a "copy" of NE and of course it would have gone to pop stations. Why wouldn't they do that? "The Right Stuff" and "Hangin Tough" were pure pop and those definitely went to the pop stations but they did not play on the urban contemporary stations... again I remember. I listened to both radio formats in my city. Here is another thing Starr did, he said he could make a bigger group than NE and target a white audience. He also managed their merchandising. That isn't opinion, that happened. I am aware of what Pop means and I know R&B crossed over a lot to those stations dedicated to that format. What instruments are played does not define the genres or what is played on what station. BIIM I know took their name from a NE song and they weren't copies either. Not sure why you put extra words in my post or why you came across as extremely defensive.
@radicalreactions1633 The only reason they outsold New Edition because there's simply more of a White Audience and that's the only reason it's not because they was better.
Without nkotb, there's no nysync, bsb, etc... ABSOLUTELY. Thank you!!!!!!!
OMG, this so brings me back to elementary school. I LOVED Joey. He had the best vocal ability and still does
The best boybands ever and for ever in history 😘😘😘😘

When I heard this song back in 1988 (I was 21 at the time)....it had a "Jackson 5" vibe....especially with the lead vocalist singing.

LOVE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK 💗 💗 💗 💗 #girlretro
Joey McIntire was only 13 when he was founded to be with them. The rest are several years older than him.
Original Blockhead here and from Massachusetts 😊
They are in their 50's except Joey McIntyre and they move better than they did then. Check out "Single" or "Summertime".

Have her to checkout single by new kids on the block and neyo
Singing groups nowdays don't know what it used to take back in the day, to become successful. It wasn't easy, but the New Kids' had what it took.
Can you do a reaction to their song if you go away? Please.
This guy knows his nkotb... my wife is thoroughly impressed, that's not a joke, she kinda wants to hang out with you
New kids are in there 50s now
Can you please react to Valor- How great thou Art. It will blow your mind. I don't want to spoiler you but LOW BASS

Am I normal that I like the first video more?
I would have preferred “Step By Step”, now that’s a banger.
This song is WAY better than "Step by Step". It showcases their vocal abilities, unlike "Step".
do a reaction too popcorn love video with your kids and your wife
0:31 Lickery tongue.

The 1988 version at the amusement park is so much better
The original Boy Band. The one and only.
Jordan ❤❤🇵🇪

The first version played on BET. Maybe because the girl looks a light skin black girl and they were trying to appeal to New Edition's fanbase.
Makes sense Maurice managed both of them, he wanted a white version of New Edition
