i didnt need this today, i wanted to be productive and now im watching 12 today. Clara is my standard. and i hope that im as good as 12. i dont wanna be brave anymore. and 12 is right, when Clara Oswald gets in your head, she doesnt leave.
I'm literally rewatching the series because of 12. I'm on series 6 right now. I suspect I'll be on 12 by Wednesday.
That's absolutely gorgeous. Clara is so fascinating, so deep and complex. The fact that you manage to represent every part of her, every aspect and every complicated feelings, it's amazing.

Many years ago, I was invited to watch the live broadcast of a Saturday morning TV show. Quite by chance, Jenna Coleman was on the same show as a guest. She'd just started out on the British soap opera Emmerdale, but even then, I knew she was going places. And so it proved when she became a top-tier companion to both Matt and latterly Peter.
So glad there are others who love Clara. I really never understood the dumb needless hate she got from the fandom. Jenna Coleman was absolutely perfect as Clara and her time with Matt Smith and especially Peter Capaldi was the best. Clara is my second favorite companion after Amy and Rory.
People say things like "she's mean" or, I don't know, uncool? Just because she won't fall in line like Rose or Martha or Amy. They were all varying degrees of being in love with him. Clara stood up to him, told him no where the others might not have been able to. Not just any friend can tell you that your brain's gone soft and get away with it.
There's a video that gained traction saying that 12 and Clara's relationship was toxic. I saw it all the way through and couldn't disagree more with the opinion expressed in the video. As far as i understand, Capaldi and Coleman have both said they were both in love with each other. But the characters themselves have expressed in Clara's final moments that they did love each other, but always resisted because of bad timing. 11 and Clara had a fun, flirty, boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, but 12 and Clara had this kind of love that resembles old-married-couple, but is so unique because of their own dynamic. And what really sold me on their love was despite Clara's betrayal after the death of Danny Pink, 12 says to her, "Do you think I care so little for you that betraying me would make a difference?" Despite it all, 12 really loved her, and Clara realized that she really loved the Doctor and though she was able to express romantically and sexually with Danny, her love for the Doctor, for everything he is now, and everything he was in his previous regenerations is still part of 12.
I love the idea that she is spread out over many centuries to watch out for the Doctor. I found her great, special, loving and believe the Doctor loves Clara. I do. My favorite companion. The impossible girl was well written and she saved multiple Doctor reincarnations. At 72, I fell in love with #4, but Clara, 4, 11, and 12 are my favorites.
Best companion the Doctor ever had
They are the only two characters I know I will carry with me forever, their story was beautifully written and unforgettable. I always get so emotional re-watching their last scenes.

Alright, listen, L I S T E N, this is............. I have no words. It's SUCH a beautiful Clara tribute (and it must have taken you FOREVER to make, holy shit), and I'm............... well, definitely going to watch it an unspoken number of times in the future.
It's also perfect timing for me, because I miiiiiight have started watching Doctor Who from the start only two months ago... and reached the end of season 9 - you guessed it - barely four days ago. Now, what have I been doing for the last four days, exactly ? Well, what every human being whose reactions I can comprehend would be doing : bawling my eyes out over Clara's death, drowning myself in fanvids all around, and trying to process the fact that Clara freaking Oswald catapulted herself to my top 3 of favorite characters ever somewhere along the way without quite giving me a warning beforehand. It's. A lot.
But anyway - in the words of the Doctor himself : "I let Clara Oswald get inside my head. Trust me - she doesn't leave."
