That sucks it caught fire so sorry that happened. I was kinda looking forward to seeing what you were going to do with it at one point. I have my 1980 Aspen R/T and I absolutely love it that I'm having mine totally rewired by a shop and willing to spend the money to do it because of electrical issues. Hopefully it all works out for you. Thanks for the info tips on the insurance coverage. 💯👍
Happy Thanksgiving, wow, very sorry that fire happened, I hate losing a car to fire, I lost my '78 Dodge Magnum XE, due to a carburetor fire, it hiccuped, didn't know the distributor was loose, fuel pump was on it's way out, so it caught fire!!!! Mind you, this Magnum was a great lookin' ride, triple black, T-bar roof, cop car wheels with raised white letter Goodyear's, 400, 727, dual exhaust w/o cats!!! The whole front end look like it was deep fried like chicken!!! It broke my heart to part that car out!!! Mopar Man, to Mopar Man, stay encouraged, a mouse could make a mess of a collector car, like your Super Coupe!!! Best of luck, put her back on the road!!! Mopar Nate, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
My suggestion is to put it back together since you have the parts. One more Mopar back on the road. If you're not crazy about it, put it up for sale as a driver!
My problem with the classic car insurance companies is I cannot get insurance. I have a nice 1986 Chevy Silverado K3500 4X4 Crew Cab, and the classic car insurance companies have all turned me down because they say they will not insure 4X4 trucks.
Far too many off road incidents, aka rool overs ,rolled on side smashed into trees, boulders other 4x4s sunk in mud bogs rivers lakes😂 would you insure off roaders?🤣
call them back and say look I’m not doing the work no more. I’m too busy. Send me the difference in appraisals because I’m sending it to Russ Buckett restorations. and if you don’t want the car, just sell the car whole don’t take nothing off of it. You made enough don’t be greedy.lol ! The important thing is anybody that gets Hagerty make sure you get the cherished value that’s super important
Don’t take the drivetrain out of this car and part this car out. This rare car is definitely worth saving. If you don’t want to save it, then find somebody who will. There are plenty of people who understand the value of this card that would be happy to take it off your hands and get it back on the road.
What the heck do you mean your not in love with the car? Thats crazy talk! C' mon dude, just buy a damn 78 aspen 4-door for all the parts and fix it! What is this he-in and haw-in around? If you don't want the car , leave it in good shape For Someone else to take over! I think you're problem is, you have to many cars to the point that you are not appreciating that car well enough!
Keep it, and fix it... since you have a '78 Aspen already! Simple! That Super Coupe is worth SAVING!
This is why I always pull the battery terminal on my 65 Dart GT 273 hardtop when parked.Learned long ago from a mentor in the hobby.
Bummer the fire happened... But thanks for the video and the information and advice... Great share.
Painless wiring harness recommended!
