Catching Spring Crappie Using Crappie Magnets! {Catch & Cook}

We caught some tight lipped spring crappie while fishing crappie magnets on an Ugly Stik. Electric chicken, bumble bee (black/yellow), and Sho-nuff did the trick to get dinner in the boat. Walker Lake in PA has a good crappie population, but this time of year when the water is still a little chilly it is sometimes hard to entice a bite. These were all laying on the bottom in 12-20 feet of water. Kayak fishing and drifting to find the schools did the trick and we were able to get enough for dinner. Whole fried crappie, pierogies, and buffalo ranch sauce made for an awesome dinner after a day of fishing.
