1997 Mercury Mariner 60HP Thermostat Replacement

- This old outboard is still running hot. Since we already changed out the water pump, it's time to put in a new thermostat. This is an easy and straight forward swap, with 4 easily accessible bolts. And doing it yourself will save money and weeks worth of waiting for the shop to do it. I opted for an aftermarket thermostat, and it didn't come with a new cover gasket. While the gaskets can be reused, you may want to ask if it comes with one. If it doesn't, order one for a couple dollars more.

Haven’t made it out yet, we’ve been kayaking instead of boating. I’m planning on getting it out by this weekend.
