    I've owned by B2650 w/ loader, backhoe, RTR, box blade & rear blade for 2 years. Absolutely love it. Looked at all of these models and found the B2650 had the best balance of size, weight, performance and price for what I use it for which is just hobby landscaping. Call it my "Orange wheelbarrow" as it saved me soooo much work, time and backache by not having to use a shovel and wheelbarrow for what I had done previously. Also looked at competitive models and after extensive analysis determined none of the others were as solid as Kubota.

    I can confirm everything Neil says! I'm just coming up to the 50h maintenance interval on my new L2501. The thing is an absolute tank and has no problems shuffling around pallets and drums, grading/moving gravel, and I've even pulled out about 100 half-rotten fence posts with the LA525 loader and moved them to the opposite end of the property. I have done extensive brush hogging with a 60" rotary cutter which is very impressive for 25hp. Let's just say I chewed some serious stuff with that thing and it was honestly surprising a couple of times when I didn't break the shear bolt! I also mow about 8 acres with a 72" FDR1672 and can confirm that it's right at the limit of what 25hp can offer. Most of the time on flat ground in grass less than a foot tall, you can fly flat-out in medium gear and it cuts effortlessly. However, in some of the lower and wetter areas, I have to slow down a bit when the grass is about knee-high, and you can really tell when you're going up a hill since 25hp isn't a lot to move a 5000 pound tractor setup up a slope while also turning a 72" RFM through tall grass. I also leave ruts in those areas because the L series is quite heavy compared to a B, but I enjoy greater stability and a lot more pulling power for it, which I need in my application for plowing and ripping.
    Anyway, I have zero regrets with my purchase. Neil's videos were instrumental in helping me to select the right tractor and I couldn't be happier. Thanks!

      Thanks for this comment Doug. I just bought my L2501 and was worried about the mower. We got a 60" EverythingAttachments mower (well, we're in line-- gotta wait 7 weeks!). It's good to know that we'll be able to mow our 5 acres with it without many worries.

      I have a 2501 with a 60" Land Pride finish mower. I used to have a B2301 to pull it, the 2501 does a much better job. However, I switched to "low lift" blades, instead of the "medium lift" it came with. That has really seemed to help with the HP thing. Not moving as much air, so less HP required, so it mows stronger. May be not as nice a cut, but for our place, not a big concern.

    I could not be happier with my B2601 I have had it almost 3 years and use it for everything from mowing to splitting firewood to running a generator when power goes out. I replaced a lot of equipment with one tractor power unit to simplify my life. I found it to be very simple and well made compared to other brands. For my needs I think the power to weight is a good match as I use the tractor to mow grass all summer.

    • @frankmulligan8903
      @frankmulligan8903 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had a BX2680 for about 2 years now and I regret it. Too small for what I need to do. I call it a jack of all trades, master of none. Our property is hilly and you have to be careful about cutting the grass. I removed the belly mower and I'll never use it again. The tractor is too heavy and rips up the turf. I ended up buying a Scag ztr mower which s much better. I also will probably never use the expensive Kubota front snowblower again. It clogs way too much. I put forks on the loader bucket and I believe it can only handle about 250 pounds before the rear wheels come off the ground. I bought this because the wIfe said she would use it. She never has. I should have went with the L3901. Best of luck to you

    • @dzlkawboy33
      @dzlkawboy33 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine doesn't get too top heavy. I put fluid in the rear tires and that helps out a ton. No tool is right for every job but I love the flexibility that the BX line offers. If I have a complaint it's that I wish the loader capacity was more but what I have found is that no matter how big a machine you purchase, you still wish you had more. I also have a big 60hp farm tractor with loader if my jobs get too big. If I didn't have that I may have went to the B2601 ( next model bigger) but overall, I'm happy with my purchase.

    • @dand33911
      @dand33911 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Do you ever use it on uneven ground?
      I'm thinking about trading mine in for an l2501, it just feels too tippy feels like the cab is way too big. Maybe it's just me.
      I used a b1700 without a cab for about 500 hours and I'd take that thing on crazy slopes.

    • @Greezbhal
      @Greezbhal 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dan D it does feel tippy to me but I attributed that to this being my first tractor ever. Having said that, after 50 plus hours, I feel much more comfortable with the way it takes terrain and handles slopes. Hills that used to give me major pucker factor don’t even concern me anymore. I did go with the loaded tires so that may be a factor as well. I think some of it is just getting used to the way it feels- much more of the weight is low even though it might not feel like it sitting in the cab.

    • @dand33911
      @dand33911 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the reply, I'm glad it's not just me.
      I watched a few of your movies, and subbed. The one of you mowing, seems like u had the same feeling I do.
      I also have loaded tires, and about 200hrs. Dealer mentioned wheel spacers, idk. It's not my first tractor. And I've been in backhoes, farm tractors with cabs, but this is my first with a cab. And the cab is awesome, I got the messics special radio too. I think it's just too big for the tractor.
      I'm comfortable on it, I just stay away from anything too steep. It's not that bad with a brush hog, or even the Box blade low for ballast. But but a full bucket on uneven terrain, or even a not evenly loaded bucket with no ballast is sketchy. I've had it on just the front tires several times.
      I used to B 1700 no cab for a while, did a job on a Lakefront house, like 40° slope to water and I was driving sideways on it. I'd never dare take the B2650 there.
      Also, I have a mini and a zero turn, both Kubota, so my tractor's basically a loader. Haul material, driveway grading Etc. With the occasional brush hogging. I think the l2501 is a better fit for what I do. If I could buy a new Kubota Skid Steer with no emissions garbage I would.

    • @Greezbhal
      @Greezbhal 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dan D oh, I wouldn’t try 40 degree side hill on my 2650. It might be able to do it, especially with a mower on the back, but I wouldn’t have the nerve to test it. I don’t know that wheel spacers would make all that much difference but it might be worth a try. I have the back field of my property to brush hog here soon so that will give me a really good idea of how it feels on steeper hills with a heavier mower. I’ll do a video on it. Thanks for the sub!

    Very good explanation Neil. I bought a J.D.3025e about 18 months ago. I believe its about the same frame size as youL 2601.The reason i went under the 26 HP tractor was, to stay away from the Tier 4 Emissions and the DPF filter. I have heard theres not near the problem as in the beginning especially since its been around for a few years. If i had known at the time i bought my Deere, that i could've gotten a Kubota L2601 without the DPF i would have come home with a new Kubota. Thanks Neil.

    This is a great video. You're right on the dot about not having much scale for tractors, we have a L3000 from 20 years ago and looking at photos and things of the L3301 they always seemed smaller but when I could finally stand next to one with AG tires a while back they seem about the same size and I had no idea.

    love my bx i purchased over a month ago, i watched so many you tubers before making my decision, like the you tubers, Good works tractors and tractor time with tim, they never say to many good things about kubota like they can’t see past the color green lol so really not of fan, looked at them both myself and the kubota is like the toyota in tractors far as dependability, my brother has the 1025R and had it for 3 months now and his been in the shop 4 times so far and said he wished he would have looked at a kubota before making his decision, i told him every manufacturer can mess up and have problems some just more than others, don’t get me wrong i like john deere just not a fan of the green in color and design, like my brother 1025r when you lift the hood and you can put 2 motors where they have so much empty space under the hood. so before you make a decision do your homework and go out and drive them and find a good dealer, not a dealer that says buy this brand and all other tractors isn’t the best like the you tubers i mentioned.

    That pollution control adds a lot of price to the tractor over 26hp, like to see the price difference between the L2501 and L3301. You should have mentioned the PTO HP especially between the B2650 and L2501. Good video as always, you work hard doing them. That makes you also a good salesman knowing your product.

    • @philipchamberlain9563
      @philipchamberlain9563 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would also like to hear the price difference between the models. My understanding is there is not a loot of difference in price between the Bs and the L. (not sure about the BX).
      My local dealer quoted a difference between the L25 and L33 of $3000 (can) last year - assuming most of that is for the DPF.
      Also if your not doing a lot of loader work a standard trans is a bit cheaper and puts more HP to the PTO (about an extra 1 or so for the PTO).
      Also watch out for turbo'ed engines, more electronics/air volume measurements, which can cause issues for the DPF if anything goes wrong (DPF bad if the engine goes out of sync and starts sutting up - more cycling).

    • @geezboil
      @geezboil 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Part of what I appreciate most about his delivery is his willingness to be honest about the shortcomings in the product (and lets face it, every product has them). It's nice to hear something besides 100% rah rah.
      Just bought our 2501 from a dealer down here in Texas and when I went through our application and asked him about features (cruise control, lights, etc) he basically talked me *out* of most of them, saying that they were probably not worth it in my case. This was after he pretty much knew he had the sale and could have FUD-ded me into spending more money. Just really impressed and appreciative.

Talking to 4 different dealership they all say they have lost sales because of how slow land pride is filling orders. Anderson tractor in Bolivar was the most honest and best price of the 4 dealer's I contacted. Thanks have a good one and keep the videos coming
    You played a big part in me staying with the Kubota brand👍

    Got a question about the HP and hydraulics. While it's true that it's the hydraulic capacity that determines the loader capabilities, wouldn't the higher HP also allow a higher flow at the required pressure? So that the 25 and 39 HP tractors lift the same payload, the 39 can just do it faster?
    Regardless, got a 2501 and it impresses me on a regular basis...

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the pump rpm is the same, no. In your case the next models up are slightly more rpm so they do flow faster. Hp does help with pressure recovery time after work.

    That dirt trick of using the same engine just increasing the horsepower in different model tractors isn't really a bad thing. If the same engine is used that just means it's that much easier to have easier availability of parts because there's multiple tractors using the same engine. Instead of different parts in different higher displacement engines so, in a way Kubota just makes that part harder than it needs to be.

      It'd be interesting to know what part of the emissions system is supposedly so destructive? I see people hating on the DPF all the time for destroying their engine, a functioning DPF adds negligible resistance to your exhaust for vastly reduced particulate matter and is mostly maintenance free for a few thousand hours.
      Or is there some other part I'm missing that's intentionally integrated to self-destruct your engine? :P
