I feel like Presage and Harbinger should've gotten a mention in this video. Going into Presage solo blind for the first time was magical, when the trash compactor doors were closing in on you as you struggle to find the switches on the floor, that moment was magical.
Presage was really so good. It proved to me that modern Bungie can still do really awesome exotic missions, and in my opinion the mission for Revision Zero was also pretty awesome, especially with all the stuff hidden inside for triumphs (and the robot dog of course). Can't wait for them to return in the rotator.
I will never forget Vicarious Visions for giving us the best futuristic sci-fi aesthetic with the Warmind DLC. There hasn't been anything in Destiny that I liked more than Rasputin and the whole Bray legacy on Mars. I will always miss them o7

Oh you poor bastard…you missed out on a lot of amazing moments in destiny. Mostly from Forsaken’s year of content, Shadowkeep sucked lol but it’s seasons were good (expect season of worthy).
One thing people always overlook when it was about season of the undying. The way the Moon felt with the Vex incursion... Man it was something else. felt actually like a Vex invasion in progress. now you just got a few vex here and there...
Everything I truly love of Destiny was heavily influenced or even straight made by Vicarious Visions. The more time passes, the more I find that it's really VV that I fell in love with *through* the medium of Destiny, not Bungie itself. Since the Activision split and loss of VV, the spirit of Destiny has been waning and falling apart due to lack of incentive.
The music in the whisper mission was on point! I hope they bring that mission and the outbreak perfected one. Those 2 timed missions were so much fun to complete :)
Still see the kid who stopped being my friend and quit destiny because vex dropped twice for me, while I was outside the portal, and dead. It was so bad early when ppl thought drops had a reason for happening, he never spoke to me again lmfaooo
You missed out on so much bruh Feeling of villa destiny 1, taken king, Age of triumph raids, forsaken ( I missed this one tbh Fortnite), shadowkeep (dlc was ass but state of the game as vry good imo), arrivals (one of the best seasons if not the best tbh) and chosen/splicer
All these instances were peak destiny, each season needs something like one of these for the community to dig into, they’re easily what make destiny one of the most special games around
great video, its sad to see that we are not in these moments anymore and just as sad to think of the future where we might not even get any more of these moments.
Although it wasn't nearly as grand in its scale, DSC's Nuclear Descent and the impact on Europa was a very cool touch. Finding out that World's First had permanently changed Europa was pretty awesome.
I really miss all the mysterys and all the secrets to discover back then when I started playing Destiny nowadays its only grinding and grinding which stopped me playing the game :(
I remember going from the first destiny to the the second game thinking... what happened? how did the game regress? Glad they fixed up D2 a ton! It needed all the rework that it got and now its a game i find myself enjoying.
I know I always mention "Vex Offensive" but I genuiinely thought that Bungie got that activity right in feeling like you were essentially doing a "raid-lite" with matchmaking. Absolutely loved the way it played out and could never get enough of that activity in particular :)
Everyone always forgets about owl sector, and the fact we just got an exotic ornament making reference to it tells me at least one Bungie employee does
I guess story beats aren’t really what you mean by “craziest events”, but the inkblot cutscene were Rasputin talks for the first time about Clovis, and the cutscene at the end of the season of the Traveller attempting to leave are both truly amazing recent moments for me. I cared more about those than I’ll ever care about an exotic quest
*sigh* the good days. This is actually my favorite game. Lately it’s definitely been a back burner weekly affair. It sucks to see where we came from, where we grew to, and where we are now. Love this world to death. Just wish it wasn’t only the players who did.
I’m calling it now. They’ve got the 15th wish ready to put in the game. But waiting for final shape when we get a season about amassing all out power and allies against the witness, like the Techuns say,”return to us for the sake of plans to come” and the 15th wish will tie into defeating the witness.

when it comes to raids..... the only things i dislike r stealth and mechanics that quite literally make my brain go in circles and do flips..... also man i kinda get that trials is special but man they really should regulate the power level of it... i feel so much like an outsider looking in with it.... i miss the saint 14 season.... easy their best seasonal event they've made imo
havent watched video yet, its loading internet is bad, but i for one vote for a age of triumph at the end of Final Shape since they will probably have all d1 raids back and some new ones, they can either bring back the old ornaments or make new ones for the returning raids

Watched the vid on beyond light. Possibly a solution, at the cost of Bungie making more money, catch D1 up to D2 and move the DCVed content applied there. Even the seasonal pass events. Destiny Remastered. Question is, do that divide the work further while progressing past the DaL saga? Or, put that progress on hold for a year, and pull Destiny Remastered into reality? Possibly, having a small team on story board if they can agree not to cut it like all the times before….
I still remember my first Zero Hour clear, I still get great joy from my solo of Whisper of the Worm. I remember the butt clenching experience of my first run through Shattered Throne. I remember taking newbies through these with fondness. I never tried Day 1 raiding, but dear god was I excited to follow Last Wish. Yes there are recent great missions, solid dungeons, raids, but they all feel like well, as Evan pointed out, factory settings. There's no sense of discovery, or community anymore. When was the last time we were all united in hunt of something? Or have that sense of discovery. Lost of this is tough with data mining, but some of it isn't. Game feels on rails like never before. But I'll still remember these things for years to come. The delight, the joy and little moments I'll never forget. The well I dropped at just the right moment in heroic Menagerie that brought us home. Friend requests from my first sherpas of Whisper and Zero Hour. And just pure awe of experiencing community working together to bring us to the other side of Corridors of Time, no matter the reward. Destiny isn't just the game it's the community. And these events remind us of that, bring us together and strengthen the game. I miss them.

There are multiple reasons why bungie cant/wont make things like zero hour or even niobe labs. The first is data miners ruining everything. There are some thing I honestly like being leaked like raid weapons (not the raid exotic) I like to know what loot will be in the raid to get me hype. I like seeing grainy images of the armor to get me speculating. But I dont like leaks about mechanics, boss names, etc... But its hard to have one without the other and I would happily lose all leaks if it meant secret missions. Bungie should make the API closed to everyone except DIM, D2armor picker, d2foundry, and whatever else is super popular. At least maybe that would work? I dont know how APIs work. The second is making new assets is bungies biggest nightmare. I swear they are just scared of making anything new now. The third is staffing issues. Bungie went from one massive team to 3 separate teams with matter and marathon and of course they took the most talented devs to work on the new projects. You'd think they'd hire new devs to fill the voids but from what I have heard bungies pay is not very competitive with other game studios so talented devs dont apply or get sucked up by other studios. I have no evidence of this one though its just word of mouth. The 4th and final is the age of the servers/engine. Adding massive new areas is very hard on these. There are rumors that marathon will be on the same engine so maybe we get new servers for destiny or maybe they are secretly working on D3. I know they have said they dont plan on D3 but thats what I would expect them to say simply on a monetary basis. If they told you D3 was on the way would you spend anymore money in the eververse?
Hot take that's not really a hot take: the game has gotten progressively better and worse since Activision split ...after near a decade the game has transmog....idk what the really says tho...increasingly more monetization dungeons sold separately becoming more and more piece-meal...like I've said many times bungie will not do anything that doesn't have a way to make them more money ....that why we have got so many pvp/gambit maps lol...oh and marathon will "be done right" like they have no ability to do things right in d2 like dedicated servers a focus on what used to be a massive part of the game pvp....no this game for as good as things have got in some ways has gotten worse in some of the worst ways
I feel like the current state of destiny 2 is dying. Coming from the devs removing pretty much and power grind and the need to do strikes with not adding any power level, removing the full unlock on the artifact, adding more and more bullet sponge bosses that move around and hit you back like the splash back from dropping a hiroshima in the toilet. And the story just being so bland and rushed along with being horribly written. And don’t even get me started with not adding a certain exotic because it got stripped from a certain class and added to another class and called it the other classes “identity”. Destiny 2 is going down the toilet faster than anyone can manage.
If only Bungie had brought The Age of Triumph armour ornaments from D1 Raids back with the reprised Raids (maybe for Master Mode) in D2, that would have been perfect in my opinion.

Outbreak Perfected was my top moment... I will never forget TR3-VR.... my first time and my last run that robot always caused anxiety and I loved it.

Looking back on it, there really hasn't been anything close to the forsaken era of d2. I really hope we get content as insane as that year again.
